Taco Tico's drive thru rocks! I hope this business continues to operate as drive thru only. The food is prepared quickly and the employees are super nice. Love this place! Update: just tried the breakfast and it was great. Affordable, hot food and friendly employees make this place what it is.

Great alternative to Taco Bell. I grew up near a Taco Tico, but it looks like most of them closed. This was a great way to bring back some childhood memories.

    Uhm. Where's the beef?

Was in Pimlico Taco Tico yesterday. Ordered some soft tacos. I was completely floored by what I was given. One of the tacos had beef on one side. The others had about a 1/4 of the beef the first one had. I ate one of the tacos and the tortilla was cold. I opened up the next one and audibly laughed out loud. I went ahead and opened the other 3 and they were just as bad. I decided to take them up to the counter to show the worker standing there and ask what was up with these tacos. It seriously looked like the guy in the back didn't feel like getting another container of beef and just portioned what he had at the bottom of the pan in front of him. The guy at the counter said, " that's our normal portion" and I told him I eat there regularly and that those tacos were about half if not less than what I normally get. He told me to hold on. He went back in the kitchen and got a cup of taco meat. I'm standing there thinking is this really happening as he walks back and starts scraping the beef out of the cup onto the tacos that are sitting on my tray that I sat in the counter. At this point I'm just not believing what I'm seeing and just turn around and start walking out. As I'm at the door he yells across the room "so you want these to go?" Seriously?!?! I'm 52 years old and have been patronizing taco tico since I was a kid growing up in Versailles Ky. To be honest I primarily go in for nostalgias stake. The quality is hit or miss anymore and.guess you can see it in the fact they opened up a couple more stores and now back to 1. Cold taco shells and tortillas. Portion amounts wildly different from stop yo stop. Then to have an employee make a remark like that when they obviously knew what they were doing wasn't fixing but exacerbating the situation. When all I said was "man I don't normally complain about food but these tacos are a bit lackluster." Then to scrape beef from a cup and watch it just falling all over the 4 opened tacos? I was do taken aback I didn't even ask for a refund. I've been a fan of taco tico for 40 years and have sadly say yesterday was the last time I'll step foot in one.

It has been many a year since I've partaken of this establishment. The last one I saw, closed years ago in Jeffersonville and I didn't know they still existed. I've known they were around in Lexington for awhile so I decided to check them out for lunch today. Service inside was super fast. I ate inside and the dining room was clean including all of the table tops. I ordered a Single Cheese Enchilada, a Single Beef Enchilada, and a Crispy Corn Beef Taco. The taco was good but the Bell's are better. I like this place because they have enchiladas and the Bell does not. The beef enchilada was excellent. The cheese enchilada was a tad cold on the inside.

Overall really great experience. I had the fish tacos combo, which were really tasty. I would prefer less of the crema but it was good and had a refreshing amount of lime. Quick and tasty lunch even though they got pretty busy. Have to also comment about how clean it was! Like wow--the place was virtually spotless. Major points!

11/6/20 I finally caved and went to this establishment, especially whenever I'd drive by and see the building have cars wrapped around it. So naturally I over ordered, as I wanted to try a variety of their tacos. I asked the cashier what she would recommend and to my surprise she recommended the chicken quesadilla. Which was the best dish that I tried out of everything else I got. I also ordered their chicken and beef tacos, crunchy and soft varieties. This is where the disappointment led me to this rating. The tacos were bland, barely warm, and the shells were stale. The salsa was similar to a jar of Prego. Just disappointing, when I could've had better at Taco Bell or a taco truck up the road. I've tried many tacos all over the world, and this is hands down the worse of them all. Maybe I'll give them a try one more time, but I won't be ordering multiple tacos in case it's still just as terrible. I would however recommend their chicken quesadilla, and to always ask their employees working there for their recommendations since they clearly know what's happening behind those closed doors.

WOW! What a gem of a place!! I love to support mom and pop small restaurants and was blown away by…read morethe food, service and value. The menu is a unique mixture of American, soul and ethnic options. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Garlic wrap and pasta salad. Hubs ordered a Club sandwich with potato salad. Everything was SO DELICIOUS! Highlights were the sumac seasoning on my wrap, the HOMEMADE bread on the Club and the whipped texture mixed with the potatoes in the potato salad. The gentleman who runs the restaurant was kind and attentive and I swear I could taste the love in the food he prepared. We were staying a couple of miles away at a hotel for a road trip pit stop and needed dinner. Dinner exceeded my expectations and I KNEW I had to leave a review to encourage others to visit. But wait, there's more!!! 6 months ago I was at a hotel in New Orleans for 5 nights trying to order their "famous" bread pudding for a late night treat. It was Out of stock my whole stay and I left a bit bummed. So when I saw bread pudding as an optional dessert I ordered some to-go. BEST. BREAD PUDDING. EVER. It came with real, homemade whipped cream. I put the whipped cream in the mini fridge at the hotel and pudding on the counter for an hour or two to allow time to digest dinner. When I finally dug into the dessert I was in HEAVEN! The bread pudding still had some warmth. I tried a bite on its own and was delighted by the combination of big bread chunks with lovely syrup, touches of cinnamon spice and CRUNCHY SUGAR pieces. Then I tried a bite of the VERY full container of whipped cream. It was light and fluffy, very creamy and partially frozen and has a fluffy frozen custard vibe. The combination of the two was a flavor climax that I can't even properly describe. Don't miss out on the bread pudding!! The restaurant wasn't busy at 7/8 pm on a Thursday night. It's tucked away in a neighborhood shopping strip. Don't let the inconspicuous look fool you into believing that my review is in error. Also, it seems small but has a roomy dining room with a bar in the adjoining space. If you try the food I can guarantee you will taste the love and quality that is a rare find these days.

Most of the seating is indoor inside of the Micher's Greenhouse there, so even if the weather hadn't of been nice it would have been a great time. There was great live music as well. We decided to get a bavarian pretzel to split, as well as her getting their raspberry crepe while I decided on their lemon curd crepe. Everything we had to eat was fantastic. Everything else I saw on the menu sounded delicious. Service was also quick and fantastic. The kitchen was pumping out food quick and the wait staff had it out to us as soon as possible. I'll always recommend this as a nice date spot for others.

Weird experience. The food is fine, healthy-ish, but nothing to write home about. My husband's…read morenoodle salad was my favorite, followed by my cauliflower salad. I thought the beet & giant bean salad was meh, the pieces are cut huge so you really get about 4 beans and 6 pieces of beet. The grilled cheese is actually half a grilled cheese, which didn't have much cheese on it, and tasted faintly of horseradish. I couldn't finish mine. The hummus was good, you just don't get very much. Focaccia was alright, would have been better warmed. We ordered a Bavarian pretzel plate, which also came out room temp. I think that's a first for me at a restaurant. The focaccia, ok, it's for dipping and that's easier when it isn't so soft. But the pretzel? Like did it just get pulled out of a bag and tossed on the plate? I can't speak to the cheese because I tried it with mustard. There was so much horseradish in the mustard it almost blew my head off. I'm sure some people love that but I'm not one of them. Speaking of blowing up, a woman on a laptop had a kid that was goofing off around her table. He laid down on the bench and started sweeping rocks at some old lady. The old lady turns around to tell him to stop and the mom lost it on her. Like screeching. Idk, I get it to a certain extent but if you're trusting the world to watch your kid while you work, don't be surprised when the world asks your kid to not throw rocks at them. Then when I bussed my table (which I thought was what we are supposed to do here), there's a single bus tub to the right of the ordering window. To get there, I cut across the line sideways and not one but several people are giving side-eye because they had to *gasp* make way for someone to take their plates up. That's also where the bathroom is, so good luck if you sit to the left of the line, because apparently the other patrons expect you to walk through a maze of tables behind the line to get to the far side of the cafe. Summary: the food is fine, but not worth the rest of the experience. It's surprisingly unorganized and while it is beautiful, you can get better health food at the co-op or Whole Foods. The clientele on a Thursday morning was so uppity I would never come back.

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. A special thank you to the team who took care of us on Saturday, March 7th, 2026. You elevated an already wonderful experience and made it even better than usual.
