Ordered two popular beef tacos (regular and white with avocado) - looked like a Taco Bell taco. It was not that great at all. Nothing popular about this item. Also ordered the bean & chicharrones burrito dinner with extra meat and avocado. The burrito came with barely any meat but more bean and avocado. I had to throw it away after three bites. Taco stop has to be one of my absolute favorite Mexican restaurants in Pueblo, better than many of the full on dine-in large menu restaurants. I got several items. First, I got a chicken soft taco and pork soft taco! These were incredible! The meat was perfectly cooked. In addition, they are large too! These had to be my favorite items I got. I also got a chicharrone breakfast burrito smother in the "hot" green chile. Surprisingly, the green chile was the spiciest I've had in Pueblo. Finally I also got the menudo. Had I known what we were in for we could have stopped by del taco or something. $5.17 for the 3 taco "special" which included 3 burnt ground beef hard shell tacos. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but it's gone steadily downhill the last year or two. Every time we go we say it will be our last, but the loaded nachos and slopper keep pulling us back. Tonight was the final straw though. The WORST service we've had and serious health concerns after this visit. We ordered our usual in the drive-thru - slipper and loaded nachos. Nachos were the evening special so it came with a drink. They were busy and had us pull off to the side parking lot to wait. Not long after, our food was brought out. I looked at the bag and saw chili dripping out of both containers. Knowing my nachos shouldn't be dripping chili I checked each and we ended up with two sloppers. We went inside to let them know. Stood there for several minutes holding the bag of food when the gentleman who brought it out came to the counter, apologized and took it from us. While we were standing there waiting, another gentleman was waiting for a call-in order they couldn't find - two sloppers! The worker who took the sloppers from us took them outside and gave them to the man that had been waiting for his lost order. They didn't check it, they had no idea what we did or didn't do to that food between when they gave it to us and when we brought it in. While we were waiting for our correct order my hubby mentioned several times we hadn't received our drink and got ignored. It took another customer that came in after us getting her drink first and telling the girl behind the counter we still hadn't gotten ours for us to get it. When we ordered my nachos we told the girl taking our order no jalapeños on the nachos. My husband said it several times - I heard him. When we went inside to take back the incorrect order we said again loaded nachos, no jalapeños. When we were waiting and the girl taking orders asked if we were waiting in the loaded nachos I said yes and please no jalapeños! I told her I'm a sissy-lala and can't eat them. Our order finally comes out, we go to a table to eat, I open the lid to the nachos and guess what...&$@!$ jalapeños! Pretty frustrated at this point I did tell an expletive and took it back to the counter AGAIN. When one of the cooks came over to ask what was wrong I told him it wasn't supposed to have jalapeños. He said he didn't know, took the container and walked away while telling the other cooks it wasn't supposed to have jalapeños. I stood there watching him - he went over to the trash an, stood there with holding the container of nachos partly inside the can, picked the jalapeños off and threw them away, closed the container up and brought it back to me. At this point I was boiling mad. People ask for stuff to be left off for a reason. He doesn't know what I'm allergic to, what I have reactions to, what dietary issues I have...I can't do spicy. At all. Once those jalapeños touch it, there's juice left behind and it's hot and it stays whether you pick them off or not. At this point I yelled which I try really really really hard not to do when people are making my food. I don't know if he had gloves in or not when he was picking things in my food, I really don't want to know, but I told him in a not nice tone or volume you can't pick things out of people's food and then give it back to them! It ended with a new container of nachos without jalapeños - I watched them, but a horrible experience all the way around. Their beans are flavorless and poorly made, their soft tacos are more like baby burritos, and they cannot even properly run a line during their busy hours. We called in an order at 5pm, they said to be there at 5:30pm, we arrived at 5:40pm, and they didn't start preparing our food until 6:00pm. We finally got our food at 6:20, and the supervisor just gave us attitude and made excuses for their lack of professionalism and poor food preparation practices. Ever find chicken or beef in an order that doesn't have beef or chicken? Well, you will at TACO STOP! Their customer service sucks, and their general manager is an uncaring fool who knows nothing about hiring decent people to work for her. Normally, I love it here. Today is a different story. I went through the drive-thru picked up an order of chicken tacos, their Tursday special, and a pint of rice. I didn't check the bag as they usually put the salsa at the bottom of the bag. I arrived home about 30 minutes later. To my extreme disappointment and disgust there was absolutely no salsa. This place is my go to for tacos. It's more Americanized Mexican food. The retried beans here are delicious. Not the runny kind I tend to run into here in Pueblo. OMG... this is the BEST stuffed sopapilla I've ever had! It's massive and stuffed with beans and beef. The food is prepared fresh. I ordered it to go, picked it up and came back to the hotel. The food was still crispy and hot when I finally got situated to finally dig in. The sopapilla is thick and airy. It's large and enough food for 2-3 meals. For dessert I ordered the Cheesecake Xango. It's a cheesecake stuffed fried tortilla with a light caramel sauce over it. It doesn't look too pretty but the flavor is Ah-Maz-Ing! This was a very pleasant discovery. This is my weekly must have. Great beef tacos where you taste meat not over seasoned. Cheese is so perfect and add a bit of the hot taco sauce, perfection. I like the Pepsi strong and always cold. Tried enchiladas before and sopapillas. Everything is good, but tacos are better. Make dinner easy pick up at drive through window and head home. Good fast friendly service. I had the pork and avocado burrito 50/50 chili plus onions and chips and salsas. It was awesome! My husband ordered the loaded nachos and a beef Taco. He said the taco was prefect...so the only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because the nachos/chips appeared to be Tostitos (or something very similar) and they were overpriced. My chips and salsas came with a handful of chips (not even close of enough to eat with the bowl of salsas. Salsas was good tho) and it cost 3.50$! His loaded nachos were ok at best. I got a chorizo taco dinner with a drink and it was around 5 bucks and filling. A fairly well stuffed with decent chorizo and lettuce and tomato, cold flour tortilla that came with 2 small containers of a red chile salsa (with a little bit of heat which I like), a little bit of rice, and a little bit of frijoles, and lettuce and tomato (lettuce from a bag) that had some of that restaurant supply Italian dressing on it? Kinda strange but oh well, I dumped some of the red chile salsa on it and it was... ok. I've been here a few times and these are the best handheld breakfast and lunch burritos I've found in Pueblo. After moving here from Denver, it took awhile to find something that was close to my favorite up there- Tamale Kitchen. The chile is good flavor and spice (we usually get 1/2 and 1/2). I love that there's a good amount of bacon in breakfast burritos, and good proportions of potatoes, eggs and cheese- some places are so sloppy from too much chile or too dry from too many potatoes, but they seem to have found the balance. Lunch is always quick, even when there's a line. Today I waited six minutes from payment to finish for six handheld burritos. Their kitchen is open so you can see them make your food and it's very clean! Honestly, it was one thing I was most impressed with on my first visit. Two (small, but worth mentioning) items: their drive-thru is a very tight squeeze in any SUV and the liquor store next to them are jerks and tow car if you're parked on their side of the lot.
