I work for a delivery service near this area and our market was expanding to this market as well. My job is to provide partner support to our partnered restaurants, whether that be technical support or just basic support between my company and the partnered restaurant's business. The owner of this restaurant requested that our company provide service and delivery options from his restaurant like we were going to for other restaurants in the area. He went through the correct channels to obtain a tablet to receive his orders and after it was mailed to him I simply needed to go in and set it up for them to begin receiving orders. I had been all around town that day setting up other tablets for our other partners in that area and when I got to this one, the owner wasn't present for me to setup the tablet, but wanted to be present so that he could see how it would all work. No problem! I told my fellow associate who's job is the same as mine and she tried to go the next day when he would be there. Simple fix. After all, this market wasn't going live for another few days so we still had time to educate the proper people before it was supposed to start receiving orders. Unfortunately the owner wasn't present when we were told he would be when my fellow associate went to setup and show him around the tablet and how it operates. Again, no problem we still have two days to set it up! Unforeseen circumstances prevented me from being able to revisit this restaurant the next day so I didn't make it to the restaurant until the date that they were supposed to go live. I made it to the restaurant as soon as I was able, and within the time frame given to us to ensure the owner would be there as he leaves midway through each day. When I came in I checked the see how busy they were as I didn't want to infringe upon business to our partners. He had three people in the restaurant waiting for to go orders as they were only open to limited capacity during this corona outbreak. Seeing this I continued to the counter where I met the owner. I explained that I was there to setup and show how to use the tablet. The owner then responds saying, "Well, this in not the time. We are busy!" I tried to simply explain that today was the day to go live and that both me and my other associate had been trying for a few days now to setup the tablet that he requested. Keep in mind all other partners in this area where already up and running ready to accept orders. This was our last restaurant to get running. But before I could even get a few words out, the owner yelled "STOP, JUST STOP! I have customers in the store and I'm not going to have this argument with you!" Hearing this and immediately feeling embarrassed and knowing that this was one of our partners, I knew I couldn't say anything. So I simply walked out. When I turned around to walk away the owner couldn't resist to add "Yeah that's right, just walk away!" Our company has sense pulled out of this market for unrelated reasons and what a relief it was to me. Of course I love the company I work for and I love helping our partners anyways I can to better bring business to them. Especially during this outbreak that has been affecting businesses so much! To be spoken to the way I was by this owner when all I was trying to do was setup a service that HE requested, is completely despicable. Again it is my job to keep good relationships with any restaurant that I walk into, as an un-partnered restaurant could always become a partner, and of course we have to keep good relationships with the partners we already have so that we keep them on and continue helping them bring in extra revenue. I will be honest, I don't know if the food here is good or not as I have never eaten there. But I definitely won't ever find out as I have absolutely no desire to go back into this place ever again. I have never been so embarrassed while on my job. Especially in front of potential customers that might have ordered food from us in the future. read more
