Saw the great reviews and wanted to see for myself. Cashier was super friendly and decor was very fun. I was super curious about the Indo- style tacos on the menu. Ordered the paneer taco and the cabeza taco. Asked for a side of consommé. Paneer taco was interesting and tasted good. Had to get used to the taste. cabeza was charred and had a nice flavor. The salsas were excellent. Also got the carne asada burrito and ate this with their peanut salsa and avocado crema. Washed it down with Jarritos tamarindo. Delicious. Will be back for sure. Thx guys

First off, my disclaimer, I'm somewhat of a chili head, so all tastes are mine own and based on my ability to handle a heavy dose of chili bite without suffering severe trauma. The place was clean and not particularly busy when we arrived. George was our service person and very helpful. I tried one each of there meats in taco form, I.e., chicken, beef, Barbacoa, shrimp. Small but delectable. Others in the family, tried cheese quesadillas, and burritos. The flavors were authentic, fresh and very favorable. George gave us a to-go box for a variety of sauces they provide. I think they could've used more spice but realize they are serving non chili heads. I'll let it slide. Overall, Taco Pappi's was solid. There was a mixed reaction from the rest of the family. They thought it was ok. Be what it may.

    Consome

I ordered consomé (2 big cups) and tacos for to go.It seems like they just mixed water with pepper and oil. This is not real consomé ,no meat broth. I'm upset and disappointed.

This place is excellent, the service is amazing and the restaurant is very clean with a full salsa bar. Nice music in the background too, but most importantly the food is some of the best Mexican food you can find here. I will be coming back for sure!

Stopped here after a quick google search for Mexican food. We were happily surprised. Everything was delicious! The chicken tikka tacos were different, good, but not sure we would get them again. The Pollo and Asada enchiladas were delicious. Service was quick, you order at the counter and then they bring you the food. We would totally come back here if we lived closer!

4.5/5 I came here with my boba sistah for lunch, intrigued by the Taco Tuesday deal. There is ample outdoor and indoor seating, and a varied menu with lots of different fillings to choose from. I initially wanted to try some of their Indian cuisine inspired tacos but was hearing that those aren't the best items on the menu. So, I opted for the cabeza (beef cheek), quesabirria, and pastor. After you pay at the cashier, you'll be given a number that you can take to the table of your choice. It didn't take too long for the tacos to arrive and I got some salsas from the salsa bar, as well as pickled onions to eat with the tacos. All the tacos were really quite tasty, with great flavors. I think they mixed up the orange colored salsas because I didn't taste too much peanut flavor or texture in the salsa labeled peanut, while the other orange colored salsa did have more of a nutty consistency and flavor. I had fun trying out each salsa with all of my tacos. I also appreciate that the tacos just have the meat inside of them and you can add whatever additional fillings at the salsa bar. This is such a relief for me as a cilantro adverse diner since I don't have to worry about little bits of evil green ending up all over my taco!

Delicious authentic food and a perfect carne asada burrito. Place is quite crowded on a lunch hour so get there before noon or place your order for pickup. We've all had our favorite places and this one hits the mark. Great seasoning on the steak, perfect texture on the tortilla, and flavorful rice and beans. I gotta craving and it was met head on!!

My boba sistah and I came here for lunch one day. I'd been to the gym next door but didn't notice this place was in the same shopping center. They offer fusion cuisine which is a unique spin but we didn't end up ordering those menu items. They also have breakfast items for those who want it. We arrived after 12ish and the spot was fairly busy. I'm not a tacos fan so I ordered a chicken burrito which comes with chicken, beans, and cheese. They have a salsa bar that has a variety of salsa and toppings like lettuce, onions, cabbage, and pico. Service was friendly and our food arrived pretty quickly. We decided to sit outside on the patio and it was so nice; the weather was lovely and there was only one other person out there. I enjoyed my burrito: it was a good size and tasted great. I loved trying the different salsas and particularly enjoyed the red, green, and spicy salsas. They have a peanut salsa which was intriguing but it didn't have much of a peanut taste. Mexican food isn't my first choice for lunch but I had a positive experience here and liked my food, so I wouldn't be opposed to coming back!

    Al pastor tacos

I'll be honest, all I had was some al pastor tacos and a beer. I was relieved and happy that they actually give you a good amount of protein with their tacos. The place was super clean, service was quick, and most importantly, the tacos were tasty. The al pastor had a good char, but was still juicy. Tortillas were soft, and functioned as the meat deliverer very well. I'd go back to this place again.

Decided to try this place out as they have different specials Mon-Sat and I love supporting small businesses. On Tuesday you get 15% off any tacos so I got their mesquite carne asada and al pastor. Really didn't have much of a mesquite flavor but it was definitely delicious and the portion was huge. Al pastor was okay, I'm not used to Al pastor with so much fat. They serve breakfast and alcohol as well. Breakfast is served from 9:30am-11:30am. They have HH everyday from 3-5pm. Definitely recommend this place if you're conscious about high quality fresh ingredient that tastes amazing.

Currently sitting in a food coma thanks to this place. Simple enough food made quick and easy. Relaxed music playing as you eat whether inside or out. The cashier is jack of all trades hustling around which is great to see. I tried the pastor taco, asada tostada along with a tikka taco. I'd get the pastor or tikka again. The asada as okay. Nothing to brag about. The physical tortillas are a bit small but come with plenty of protein on each. My husband got the birra tacos which were fairly tasty when I tried it.

Taco Papi is a fantastic gem hidden away in a maze of strip malls of Scottsdale but should not be missed. I had a combo of 3 tacos (queso birria, pastor, and carne asada), along with rice and beans. The birria and pastor were incredible! I could have eaten them all day long. The carne was also good, but paled a bit in comparison to the others. Even the beans and rice were delicious. I would highly recommend Taco Papi for tacos in Scottsdale to anyone in the area!

Hmmm 7pm on a Tuesday. Tacos!!! Is what the Dr Orders. Looked on Yelp saw a 4 1/2 stars rating for this place. Thought we try it out. It's in a strip mall next to EOS Fitness. Nice clean restaurant with an open concept. George greeted us promptly and showed us the menu & told us the specials. On taco Tuesday there is 15% off the à la carte tacos. We ordered the Carne Asada, taco special plate, and a El Pastor taco special plate. Which both comes with 2 tacos & a side of beans and rice. There's salsa bar had a ton of different options from hot and mild sauce to limes, radishes, and pico. The guac salsa was yummy. Total was $28. 2 meals & 2 drinks. They do have a few alcoholic beverages, fountain soda and horchata & margaritas. They have 3 big screen TVs to watch your sports teams. I'll continue my review about the churros later

Out of all the restaurants I had before leaving Arizona, THIS ended up being one of the places I couldn't stop thinking about after I moved away. Ever since leaving, I've randomly craved these tacos constantly. I've tried other taco spots in Denver hoping something would compare, but honestly nothing really hit the same. So when I came back out to Phoenix recently to visit some friends, this was one of the first places I knew I needed to come back to because I had built it up so much in my head over time. And somehow... it was just as good again. The meat tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and you can literally watch them prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the whole experience even better. There's something so satisfying about seeing the tacos being made fresh instead of food just appearing from the kitchen. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The servers were also super friendly and welcoming both times I came here, which honestly makes such a difference. Everyone had great energy, the service was quick, and the whole place just feels inviting and authentic. I honestly think the fact that I remembered this place so vividly for so long says everything. Usually when you revisit a restaurant after hyping it up in your head for years, it ends up disappointing you. But this place tasted exactly how I remembered it, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and absolutely worth the obsession. Safe to say this place is officially a mandatory stop for me anytime I'm back in Phoenix now.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
