Taco Mio has good food but the service is seriously lacking. We ordered Nachos only to be told they were out of chips. When another customer asked how a Mexican restaurant runs out of chips the waitress responded, "we just didn't get around to making them today." After reading other reviews this seems to be an going issue. They were also out of Churros. Our daughter spilled her water and the waitress just left the spilled mess on our table as we ate. Absolutely disgusting! The fish tasted moldy, and like it had been washed in bleach. My brother ordered all you can eat and couldn't even finish 3 pieces because it tasted absolutely terrible. They then charged us for the all you can eat because the couldn't reverse it. They also just took half to pretty much empty bottles of hot sauce and just filled others without even cleaning them. Came in for lunch the other day and was glad I did. I got the grilled talapia with shrimp. What they dont tell you is that it comes on a rather large heap of lettuce and tomatoes, which is a nice bonus. Beware that the mysterious white sauce they give you on the side is tartar sauce or some other sort of mayonnaise concoction, which is a horrible thing to add to this dish. It also comes with some cocktail sauce for the shrimp. I recommend trading in the mayo nasty sauce for some sour cream, and use a little bit of that with the salsa that comes with the chips as a sort of accompaniment to the fish and shrimp, and it even works pretty well with the salad. There is ample parking, decent prices, good service, and it wasnt loud inside which was a nice change from the usual restaurant noise level. The food was great, and very good quality. The town is what it is. It's a freeway desert town in the middle of nowhere. I stopped off to grab fuel and a bite to eat. I had the Grande taco salad with chicken and no beans. The best taco salad I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. Really tasty! Beer was cold too. The two servers there were really nice. They were super awesome. I would definitely come back if I ever found myself in Quartzite again. Since, my girlfriend is in Tucson, I'll probably be back soon. read more

My first visit and I am very critical of certain things when I spend money on eating out. Food was decent. Taquitos were small but good Rice was excellent. Beans were so so. 2 things got my attention and are the reason I only gave 2 stars. Number 1: What kind of Mexican restaurant runs out of chips at lunch time? 2: What kind of server has to ask you if you want salsa with your tacos? I think the salsa should have already been on our table with chips I might add. Server was nice, just needs more lessons on serving. I was leaving Parker to Phoenix and hadn't eaten , nothing sounded fresh and tasty to me and I remembered seeing this place, it's a MUST hit. I am not sure why some People put low star reviews because the food was VERY fresh and tasty, I had the carne asada and carnitas street taco, was a crispy tortilla and stuffed I mean stuffed with meat, two of these are too many. I was honestly a pain on the phone ordering because I had never been here and the young gal was professional and quick, I could tell she was busy but not by her attitude because it was great! Save your money and go somewhere else. We used to enjoy eating here in the past but after yesterday's experience, never again. We sat there for over a half hour waiting for service. At one point the waitress was at the table next to ours and didn't even acknowledged us. I went to the counter and was given a apology. We received an apology from the waitress, but that was a let down. After taking our order we sat there for an half hour to 45 minutes waiting for our food. The gentleman sitting near us had ordered at the same time and finished their meal before we even received one item. One the order was finally received, it was a joke. I ordered pork Verde and let me say it was something I wouldn't eat. Three pieces of pork ( mostly fat) with a bile of green bell peppers and onions with some sort of liquid. We could only assume that the restaurant was sold since last year. Before the service and food was fantastic. So save your money and eat at the QIA cafeteria. read more

Years ago, it was a very good deal for the money although they never gave you chips with the meal, always extra, but the prices have increased steadily and the burritos aren't as good as they were. Just okay I had the chicken nachos( I asked about. (Legunga. Carne asada and al pastor- nope) and asked them to put jalapenos on it. They chopped fresh jalapenos for the nachos, they dont even do that in Mexico. My wife had chicken taco salad. The nachos were okay I've had much better, the chicken didn't have any flavors it actually tasted like it was boiled in plain water, my wife felt the same. I will say the salsa are pretty good. I dont think I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't give you chips while you're waiting, especially this one. They are rather pricy. Most likely will not be back. read more

First off, let me say I know Mexican food. I eat it at least a couple of times a week and I have traveled to many locals in Mexico. Anyway we were driving back to So Cal and wanted to eat and fill up on AZ priced gas prior to crossing the river. We spotted Taco Mio and pulled up. Basic Mexican menu and some American standards too. They also serve breakfast all day. Perhaps we should say it is a Mexican diner. My wife went with the gringa breakfast.......cheese omelette, hash browns and sour dough toast. I saw they one of my favorites on the menu and ordered the machaca con huevos. Very good with the traditional shredded beef and the rest. Came with beans, potatoes and corn tortillas. The waitress brought three bottles of homemade salsa....rojo, verde and muy caliente. All were tasty and I went verde. It was an early dinner and the place was about a third full. Everything I saw looked very ample in portion and most of the patrons had a positive vibe.
