This is kind of a cross between food truck and street tacos place. The food is decent but the best part is Barbi herself. What a kind and utterly delightful lady! She's friendly and makes sure you're taken care of, and her prices are better than Quartzsite good. I like to eat here when I'm running errands or getting groceries, or just missing my mom. Cute place right off of the main drag in Quartzsite. Actually a trailer with a nice makeshift little dining area. Clean and comfy. Nicely decorated with books on the table adding to the comfy feel. Cheeseburger with tater tots was good. The bun was nice and soft. The tots were hot and crunchy! Open faced chili burger was good as well. Super nice lady working her ass off. Barbi's offers many selections, serving peoples different needs. If you're vegan, vegetarian, or a meat eater, she has something for you and tries hard to accommodate. I know Barbi's is a local favorite but I have to tell you I was underwhelmed by her food. I took one bite of my tacos for Taco Tuesday and it tasted like chemicals. I tried to give it to the dog and she wouldn't eat it either-$7 right into the trash. I was still hungry though, so I found real food somewhere else. It was like a bad haunting of an elementary school cafeteria lunch- mystery meat with a stale commercial shell and Pace-type ketchup based salsa right out of a gallon jug. Never AGAIN! These tacos are probably the only appeal to those that are from Minnesota and Wisconsin etc. that have never eaten real Mexican food and base their taste off of their Taco Bell experiences. No burgers, fries, tuna melts or shakes, JUST TACOS....Salsa (Pace?) and chips are store bought obviously. Ground beef tacos taste of chili powder and maybe a touch of salt, kind of strange after taste. Chicken taco meat was cold and bland. Toppings were typical pre-shredded, bland, cheese product. Soft drinks are in cans with no ice. I'm not sure how this place gets such rave reviews? Perhaps some folks have never had a decent taco? I admire small mom and pops for doing their best and service was better than taco bell, but the food ain't. read more

We truly enjoyed our lunch at Barbi's. We selected the double burger and fries, tuna melt with tots and a box of tacos. Each was made to order, hot, fresh and yummy. Food was served surprisingly quickly. All these things would be sufficient for a five star rating, but allow us to say that the greeting and hospitality from Barbi herself was so genuine we felt like we'd made a new friend in Quartzsite. Looked on yelp it this was 5 stats( what?). It should actually be 10 stars. The service, food and Barbi are all great. We had the tacos and a tuna melt with tater tots. Mary had a malt and she said it was awesome. The taco basket comes with 3 tacos filled with the works. The tuna melt was awesome and tuna was fresh and very tasty. If you ever have to stop in Quartzite, stop here for a bite to eat! Barbi is about the friendliest person and the menu has just enough to satisfy whatever you're craving. So, we used Yelp to find a place to eat in Quartzsite, Arizona today because we were starving, and we don't usually go to mainstream fast food outlets. It took a little bit of time to find Barbie's, but when we pulled up, Barbi, the owner, was full of cheer and helpful and we ordered tacos and a malted milkshake. For $15 we had 4 huge tacos and a big malted milkshake and we couldn't be happier, and that was for two people! Been eating here for awhile now and we ordered burgers for the first time!! We rarely eat burgers out side my home but ventured out for once!! They were amazing!! Probably the best burger in town!! Tried Barbi's based on Yelps reviews and wasn't disappointed. The tacos are GREAT and Barbi's is a charming woman. When my husband and I pulled up, the parking lot was deserted and that is usually a bad sign for a restaurant. But we decided to be brave and we're glad we did. We both ordered the box of taco's and they're a great choice. The meat is flavorful, the lettuce and tomato seems freshly picked. Try this place and you'll also give Barbi's 5 stars. P.S.
