We had dinner there tonight. Overall the food was good. I had my husband's guacamole because he's not a fan. I honestly have to say that it was hands down the BEST guacamole I have ever had. The chimichanga was good but the enchilada sauce is a bit overbearing and the chicken had no spice at all. The rice was tasty but it wasn't hot when it arrived. The server was friendly and did a fine job. It was dark when we arrived so the outdoor seating was closed but it looked like it was a really nice seating area. The interior was very clean and welcoming. We will definitely try it again. I'll ask them to hold the enchilada sauce and I'll add salsa to it to spice it up a bit. read more

I'm back with my Dinner Review from last night at Dos Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Salome. Our first time here and must say we weren't disappointed. Lots of seating and nice staff. The owner was sweet as could be gave Loretta and I big hugs as we were leaving. The young lady that served us took great care of us. Loretta ordered The #15. 3 Shredded Beef Flautas with Beans and Rice. Very well Seasoned and Tasty. I Ordered The #11. Shredded Beef Chimichanga with rice topped with Enchilada Sauce. Wow stuffed with lots of excellent seasoned beef. It's a meal to share. I also just had to try The Chili Relleno for Loretta and I to share. It turned out to be both of ours favorite of the night. The owner to us the sauce on the relleno she makes special and can only be had on this dish. It was so tasty I wanted to lick the plate. All and All everything was very enjoyable and we will be back for more of the menu. If you haven't been it's worth the visit. read more

we have been coming here for 12 years. we live here. we are not visitors. its a drive to get here. not a lot of choices. food has always been excellent, as well as the service. today, that went out the window. coffee was coffee flavored warm water at best. this was mentioned to Grace, the owner, and more was made. slight improvement at best, along with her making excuses fro Farmer Bros coffee co. she has never done that before. I ordered chilequiles, #68 on the menu. my standard order for years, and somehow they screwed that up thinking it was supposed to be biscuits and gravy. so, while my wifes order was ready, I sat and waited for mine. what I got was watered down sauce on tortilla chips. this throw together was crap. nonetheless, we were polite, and my wife went to speak with Grace, the owner again , about this mess. long story short, Grace had excuses for this, blamed the cook, had no real interest in making this right, and told us to go someplace else. All this, after i reminded her that we have been coming here for 12 years, food was always excellent, and just wanted this corrected. Again, ZERO interest from her. thats what shocked me the most about this, was her complete indifference about this. never in a million years would I think this is how she would handle this. I guess she has a new business model this year. perhaps she gets away with pulling this with all the boomer snowbirds that make up the majority of her customers. we live here, and are not dopey white boomers. we wont be going back. we will drive to Parker or Blythe. this place used to be worth the drive. not anymore. go back to Calif . I have eaten here 3 times now. The owner has been very welcoming. Every time I visit this location I have enjoyed my experiences. My server Nina was pleasant to my table of 11. The guacamole is my favorite appetizer. There are many entrees that are amazing but if I only get to pick one it would be #12 taco grande salad. Also remember to get their fried Ice cream. Service was fantastic. Our server Monica was very attentive and super sweet. Food was excellent. Not greasy likeost Mexican food. Hubby got the Chile relleno and said the sauce was like none be had, it was the best he has had so far. I got two carne asada tacos that were topped with cabbage, cilantro and onions. Very nice flavor in the meat and the tortillas had the perfect crunch on the edges. Also ordered the rice and beans and guacamole. All of it was fresh and homemade. Will eat here again! OK, I ate here twice for dinner. The servers were nice, however that doesn't make up for being extremely slow...and I mean really slow. Of the two meals, only the flautas were good. That's not to say the food was bad because it wasn't. But it was fairly plain. I definitely don't recommend the chili burger. It lacked any kind of tasty flavor. The chips & salsa were fine. There's outside seating...weather permitting of course. And this place isn't open during the hot summer months. Plenty of dirt parking and it is the only restaurant that I'm aware of in Vicksburg. There's a full bar inside if you're just looking to drink. Prices are definitely high when compared with the food quality. But when it's the only game in town, you take what you can get. Being new IN the area, we went here for date night, that said i wish to express, being from the east bay area, we have spent much more an got much less! We had the special tuesday taco dinner, we ordered a side of guacamole to go with our chips an salsa, both the wife and i agree this was the best tasting mexican food we have had in many days, and the SERVICE was top notch, though i failed to get the waitresses name, she was bubbly and very attentive, as a "out of towner" we felt like we were VERY welcomed and would HIGHLY recommend this establishment!!! read more

What a wonderful surprise to find this Mexican restaurant out in the middle of the long drive from Phoenix to LA. I had stopped at the Vicksburg gas station and saw that this place was just up the road on the 60. I could tell from the customers I saw inside that it was a local favorite. There were plenty of booths inside and a courtyard outside was festively decorated. I got a shredded beef taco that was my favorite. The meat was so tender and well seasoned. The chips and salsa were good and I also enjoyed their chicken enchilada. The rice and beans were delicious. I have found a new favorite road stop and will definitely be returning in the future. The service was good and the waitress even ran out after use to return some cash we had left in the booth. So nice. Wonderful oasis in the middle of the Arizona desert. read more

I have eaten here several times and have never had a bad meal. The food is very good and the service excellent. I had the steak fajitas on this occasion and they were very tasty. I especially like the salsa. The drinks were good and I enjoyed a 2nd one as it had been a long day. The decor is what you would expect from a good Mexican Restaurant. When we first sat down in the bar, the acoustics were very poor, my wife and I couldn't hear each other talking, so we moved to another table near the front of the building with a window ledge. Let me say first off that my food was fantastic. Every bite was delicious. My wife ordered the taco salad and asked that she not be served beans or rice (dietary restriction). Her salad came with beans in the bottom of the bowl. I ordered a margarita, blended and with salt, it came in a small beer glass, it was small and after I got the bill realized that it was extremely expensive for the size and the little amount of tequila poured. We had almost finished our meal when I looked at the window ledge just above our table. It was FULL of live bugs....SEE PICTURE!! We complained to the bartender and she said "yes, they come out whenever it gets warm". Pretty disgusting!!! We won't be back. read more

I come out this way from Phoenix to hang out with my snowbirding parental unit. I have always found the food choices to be very limited in quality. This time, I was pleasantly surprised when this was Friday nights find! Dos Amigos has a very ample area for lots of seating, there is even patio seating. The owners are from California and beyond nice. In fact, the gentlemen came around and made sure everything was as we liked it. The salsa is house made and is some of the best salsa I've had in all of Arizona. It's made with jalapeños that are pre-fried before making into the salsa. The chips are also house made; very good, crisp and fresh. We arrived about 1715 and were able to grab a couple of the happy hour margaritas for $3.99. They are sweet; so I passed mine to someone else in our party and ordered a strawberry marg, not on the happy hour menu but it was good... Not strong , but refreshing. I had the combo plate with two items and chose a shredded chicken taco and a cheese enchilada. The chicken taco was fabulous! It was made on a fresh corn tortilla, NOT fried , so it wasn't greasy.. not over laden in cheese.. just fresh and good. The cheese enchilada was good too.. it was made with red enchilada sauce and was a decent sized serving. The refried beans were very good too, but I was so full from those awesome chips and salsa and taco I took most back to my families home away from home in the desert. I am extremely impressed with the quality and the service here because as I mentioned in the beginning , the choices in this area of snowbirds seem to be prime rib and limited!! Only giving 1 star, as that is the only option we have. Unfortunately this Dos Amigos was the only restaurant that comes up using a local map. We are based out of town 3 hours away. The intended Dos Amigos is local. Unfortunately that was our mistake. We called 10 minutes later to cancel it and we were told sorry we already made it no refund.. No offer of anything else. I called back since my husband didn't ask if anything else can be done. I spoke to a lady, she said the same thing we already made it, no refunds. She said she is trying to sell the food even to new customers. By that statement she is able to recoup costs involved but has no regard for a customer or a potential future customer, as we travel frequently through that area. In these times, we also can not be loose with funds. I even asked for even a partial refund and still a big fat NO. She said is the manager and the owner. Horrible customer service. Stumbled upon this little gem while driving from Yuma to Camp Verde. It wasn't quite lunch time but we thought, what the heck. So glad we did. The shrimp taco was the best I have ever had. Terrible, we've given this place many chances. Small portions, low quality. I bet I had half, if that, of a chicken breast for my fahitas, our friend's fish taco was way over cooked and our other friends shrimp taco was the same. My husband's beef burrito was horrible. Our other friend got his meal with all lettuce and hardly any meat. The margarita mix is a cheap mix with next to no alcohol. They lost our business, not wasting anymore money. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants we've been to. While at the KOA for a week we had dinner there 3 times. We did takeout each time because of our dog. The #160, carnitas burrito we had is excellent. Their nachos are delicious. The #46 enchiladas were wonderful. They have fish & chips every Friday, the best I've had anywhere. I wasn't sure how the fish would be after the ride back to our RV. The fish was still crispy outside, with tender fresh tasting fish inside. Tarter sauce, a large helping of fries and a cup of coleslaw came with it. On top of all that the owner, Grace, is so very nice! read more
