Honestly not sure where the bad reviews came from. Went here for breakfast 2 days in a row and both were outstanding! Food was delicious. Had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and eggs. Gravy was nice and thick, sausage chunks in it. The biscuits had a nice crisp top and fluffy on the inside. Perfect in my books. Hash browns were crispy and eggs were fluffy. Service was on point. Our drinks never were empty. Waitress was polite and attentive. Place was cool and had a lot of history in it. Can't wait for my next trip up here to give this place another try. Food is meh. Almost everything is frozen and reheated in a microwave or on the griddle. Waitresses are lazy and inattentive. Had to get up from the table to ask for drink refills while the three of them were behind the counter on their phones. So unprofessional and tacky. It wasn't like it was busy. There was one other family there. Manager/owner are rude and don't give a toot when a customer has a complaint. They will laugh in your face and tell you to get out. So sad because this place has potential and there aren't many choices in Salome for dining out. Thankfully a new restaurant just opened up. read more

Not open at this location . It has been relocated to Don's cactus bar up the road. It's edible and fairly clean.

Worst service. Not greeted, not seated, not brought a menu. 20 minutes to order a cheesesteak, 15 minutes after that to get a water. Cheesesteak is actually last night's pot roast shredded with some peppers and cheese on it. Huge nope!!! read more

A welcome oasis in a food desert. Like most folks, I was driving through & saw the eye-catching sign. Inside I got a friendly welcome & since I knew what I wanted the waitress put in my order immediately. Maybe because of the two large tables of locals my food took a while. I entertained myself eavesdropping on the nearby table. Access to healthcare seems to be a problem, one poor woman drives her dad 4 hours to Salt Lake City! Anyway, they were celebrating a birthday. Everyone else came up to them at some point and wished the lady a happy birthday. Clearly, in Salome, everyone knows everyone. So that's why I gave Salome Restaurant 4 stars. Atmosphere, local flavor. Food, meh. Judging from the other reviews I ordered the wrong thing. I think I ordered chili releno. Being a big city slicker, I judge a meal on quality vs quantity. The large chili was covered in a light, thin, fluffy layer of something, maybe soggy breading or cheese, or both. Rice & beans were good. Easy breezy getting the check & heading out. This Small Town reminds me of Ash Fork, Az with the small restaurant, I can say the food I got chicken fried steak I can say it's much better than IHOP or Denny's! Everything was amazing and the first thing you walk in you see pictures of heroes that joined the military and fought in battle. The service was amazing I wish I knew the teen name she was amazing and everyone else . When you're staying out in the middle of nowhere, and it's the 4th of July as well, finding a place to eat isn't the easiest! As we were driving through Salome, we noticed a bunch of cars in front of a restaurant, and we felt extremely lucky to come across anything open so we stopped! Salome Restaurant was actually quite big inside, everything was wooden and nice. The restaurant was clean and surprisingly not super busy! The cars belonged to one large family and a few others. We were sat immediately and the waitress took our order super quickly. I was craving a Denver omelette with cheese which the menu explains is called a Western. My boyfriend ordered Biscuits and Gravy. When we entered the building it smelled like bacon, so I had to order a side. Everything was literally amazing. The only critique my boyfriend had, was he wished it was sausage gravy instead of just having a sausage Patty included because he likes the flavor the sausage gives the gravy and thinks it's a bit bland without it. However neither of us were being super picky due to all the circumstances! The food was super good. I love finding hidden gems in the middle of nowhere!! If I ever find myself in Salom again, I know the Salome restaurant will be a safe bet to stop for food!! read more

There are not a lot of places in this area. We stoped in since we are staying in nearby Wenden for the winter. I had chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans and the salad. My husband had chicken fingers, tots, green beans and salad. He said his meal was very good and he would order it again. My chicken fried chicken was very good. The gravy could use a bit more spice but still good. Green beans were canned but that is really to be expected in this type of restaurant. Don't get excited by the salad because it's a plate of iceberg lettuce with about a half slice of tomato cut up into four little pieces and some shredded cheddar sprinkled on top. I'm allergic to annatto which is the ingredient used to make cheese orange so I gave my salad to my husband. The waitstaff were nice, but service is slow, I think they could use more help to be honest. If you're in the area definitely give it a try. Nothing fancy just home style cooking, but it's good. The place is pretty large and everything looked clean and well maintained. read more

We stopped at this quaint restaurant/bar on our way home over the Christmas weekend in 2020. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. We will absolutely be back and bring our friends. I got the jalapeno popper grilled cheese. It was way better than I expected! It sounded amazing, and it was! My kids had the loaded nachos. I would have gobbled them up but my kids weren't so thrilled. But that's because they had nacho cheese. One of my kids doesn't like "runny" cheese. Lol My husband got the bacon cheeseburger. Stopped here on the way to Prescott from SoCal. The place is very clean and staff friendly but busy! I had grilled chicken salad. It was fresh and crunchy and chicken breast grilled nicely...it was not dry. My husband loved his strips! And the fries were super light and crunchy. Visiting a friend that lived down the road, we popped in here for breakfast. At a glance, we thought it was the Red Pony saloon...but that's on the west side of the building. The restaurant is on the east side. There's plenty of parking and an RV park in the back. Upon arrival, there were no cars in the lot (we thought it was closed) and just a couple other diners inside. We both ordered the chorizo eggs breakfast (comes with beans and a large tortilla...and rice I think?). If you like chorizo, you'll like this breakfast. The side of salsa we asked for was good too! While eating, the place started filling up with customers...mostly through the back door. Apparently, a lot of their customers come from the RV park behind the building. There were also numerous to-go orders being picked up from the back door. Considering how tasty our breakfast was, it was understandable. There's also a full bar in the dining area and at least one TV monitor that I can recall. Prices are very reasonable and the server was attentive. This is a place in the middle of nowhere. We were meeting friends so I did a yelp search for places to eat in the area. This came up and I read the few reviews this place had had and decided to give it a shot. When we were arriving I saw the red metal pony from some distance away. The parking lot was packed with cars and I was shocked. How is it a place in the middle of the desert with not much around it have so many cars? We were seated and our drink orders were taken. I went with a specialty drink from the bar and it was excellent. For the food I choose the Hawaiian cowboy burger that had pineapple and teriyaki sauce with cheese. This tasty burger was very filling. For the side I went with the tots and they were cooked perfectly. All of us had something different and everyone enjoyed the food. I plan to return for sure. I don't know why this place doesn't have more reviews but it deserves the good rating it has. Try it....You'll like it!! First time here and so far it's very good! I ordered the cheeseburger with some fries. Highly recommended. Considering there isn't much around. French fries were huge and crispy but not too crispy. The hamburger was very thick and well cooked, not burnt at all! I will be coming back... Found out they had deserts and they have a huge selection of cakes at the very entrance. A desert gem! Driving from Prescott to Parker. Not many things were open today and I'm sure glad they weren't. We would not have found this great place. Place was very clean and the staff was super friendly. Hubby had the chili size and I have the Bacon Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese! Yep, you read that right! Best darn sandwich ever! Both of us had fries. Then they brought out the warm homemade brownies. Pieces are HUGE and they are wonderful. My only thing I didn't care for was the ranch. I'm assuming it's homemade, but the flavor was on the sour side. But others might like it that way. To be honest it didn't taste homemade. Again, it might just be my taste buds. We were driving to Williams Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and decided to stop and have some lunch at this restaurant. The restrooms were outside and not connected to the main restaurant. They were not clean and in disrepair. We ordered our food and it took a long time to get. The server told us that the cook was new and was not used to having so many orders at once, even though there were probably 10 people in the restaurant. The food itself ranged from poor to a little better than mediocre. My grandson's bean and rice burrito was basically all rice and not very good. The cheeseburger was fine, and the egg salad sandwich was pretty good. My fish tacos were mediocre. Our server was good and attentive and was the high point of our lunch. The price point for the quality and quantity of our food was too high. Overall, I would not necessarily recommend this restaurant, and I don't think that we will go back. read more

I have visited with place several times and each time the service gets worse. The food is good but the service is terrible. When we walked in, every single table that was unoccupied was full of dirty dishes from the previous persons that had sat there. If they had people that hustled, those tables could be cleaned in a minute or two. It's not hard work. We waited 25 minutes just to get our drinks ordered. Then it was another 30 minutes to get a second round of drinks. The waitress needs to hustle! Quit using covid or lack of employees as an excuse for crappy service. I set my timer from the time we ordered our food, up until we got it. Total time was 1 hour and 23 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable By the time we got our food it was almost closing time. The waitress said the cook didn't give a s**t! Wow. I won't be back. I won't go out of my way to come here anymore. I'll stick to the Stanford Inn. read more

Nice we live in a food desert i have to say this is one of the best places to eat around here. If you eat in the restaurant you will get the crispiest fries and bacon on your cheeseburger. You can't however have an alcohol drink in the restaurant. But if you go into the bar you have the same wonderful food plus outdoor dining. The service was good on both sides and the patio is a great place to eat. I would say stop by and experience the very nice people there. read more

We were driving from Parker to Prescott where my husbands best friend just bought a house. awe were thinking of stopping for some breakfast. I had to use the restroom so my husband stopped right by a gate where I saw the magic sign "Ladies" i jumped out real quick, ran in, peeped, washed my hands and headed back to the car so we could park. There was an older lady at the gate locking me in. I made my presence known and she SNAPPED AT ME that the restrooms are ONLY FOR CUSTOMERS. Well... i thanked her and got in the truck and told my husband I AM NOT EATING HERE!!! Moral of the story... DONT TREAT POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS LIKE CRAP. This place is in the middle of NOWHERE... Every person that stops in could be a potential customer. FIRST IMPRESSIONS are everything. We drove up in our cherry red Ford F350. We happened to stop in for a late lunch during our drive through town. What a great, family-operated restaurant! They are dog-friendly, with lots of patio dining and even water dishes for the pups. The bar area looked cool too but we didn't spend any time inside. The service was great. The food was delicious and portions were very large. They have a huge variety of food options! Awesome salad choices, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and even Mexican! The dessert menu was also impressive! We had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. Both were amazing and only downside was we were too full to try a dessert! We'll be sure to make it a planned stop each time we need to go through. read more

Highly recommend the food here to all our guests at the KOA. Short walk over to a great meal. Portions are good too. Some of my favorites are the Thin crust pizza , taco salad, cranberry chicken salad and last but certainly not least the Patty melt and the burgers too! Lots more I've yet to try, but certainly will. The food is good but the service every time I go in there is horrible. They have a terrible attitude. Don't order anything special like the eggs on a separate plate because they are not going to do that. The cooks has to put the eggs on a plate what difference does it make what plate they go on.
