We went on a whim on a weekend night when we were craving tacos. The food absolutely hit the spot. I got tacos al pastor and it was one of the best versions I've ever had. My bf got the California burrito. Apparently they put fries in the burrito. It was unexpected but he obviously liked it since it disappeared rather quickly. I got a horchata which was a delicious complement to the food. The owner who is super friendly happened to be there that night and he rang up our order. He mentioned that his wife is the chef and they are planning to add some more specialty items to the menu. Taco Loco is loco bueño! The tacos are legit. Had the birria tacos. Very tasty and generously filled with meat. The consommé was very savory and tasty. They just changed management & staff... I usually come here for the 99cent taco and nachos. I wanted chicken, but I guess with new management, they only offer beef tacos. That taco was good. But my nachos... I did not like them, they're usually delicious, but everything was different.... The taste was not the same. I did not have that same delicious excitement as I bit into the first nacho. They were actually cold... idk how, because I sat inside and ate them as soon they gave them to me. They must not use warm nacho chips like the last management. Also, the chicken had that very salty, tart burned grill taste. Idk if I will be returning anytime soon, this use to be my spot. This place was absolutely amazing! The customer service was beyond wonderful. They treated our children like family and gave them stickers to play with while waiting on the food. Then when the food came out it was hot and delicious. We got the California burritos and they blew us away. We also had to try their taco loco and it was unbelievably good! Birria is trash. Consume is nothing but oil where is the flavor? The taco is loaded with some kind of cheap cheese that adds no flavor instead of Oaxaca or some other flavorful cheese. The meat inside the taco is nonexistent. Also why is there hair inside of my container?! It is also VERY soggy. Just all around a fail especially when the owner keeps emphasizing how much quality she is using in her cooking. The container was so oily I had to put my tacos in a different container and they are still a soggy mess. PS-I see you responded but did not even take the time to read my full review. That speaks to the lack of follow through as well. The original container is shown here along with the one I moved it to. I also have tried these tacos on three separate occasions before writing this review and every time they were not balance and overly soggy. I even asked that they not be wrapped and suffocated in the tin foil this time hoping it would make a difference yet there were still exceptionally soggy. I was trying to be considerate by not referring to the other times that I came. However, if I add that then I could speak to more inconsistency in pricing and quality as well. Having driven by Taco Loco many times, I was curious to try it. My husband and I stopped in for a quick dinner on a Saturday evening. The parking lot is basically one parking spot, but we were the only ones there, so we got the spot. It's a tiny little place, but there are a few tables to sit at inside. We ordered at the counter and our food came out super fast. I got the "Taco Loco," which came with al pastor, chorizo, cheese, onions, and cilantro. It was a pretty big taco with lots of filling, a lot more than most street tacos I've seen. I was happy I didn't need more than one taco for a meal. It was all fresh and delicious. I got sides of rice and beans which were good too, not the most flavorful ever, but pretty good. They had a salsa bar on ice. Everything was clean. They had a large fan circulating air, but the air conditioner seemed to be out of order. I probably frequent at LEAST every other week - same order every time. My husband loves the supreme steak nachos and I would do very many things to get my hands on at least 2 tacos piratas at a time. Giving all-star NYC vibes, this spot definitely stands out from the abundance of restaurants nearby, mostly Mexican. I'm a huge fan of flavorful, authentic tacos and Taco Loco is the only place I trust to make mine besides a local taco truck that has been around since I was in high school over a decade ago! The regular staff is kind and attentive - I've even called in an order before and gotten a call back that it was ready! The weekend staff are a little more business but I understand. Fresh, raw cilantro and onions is a signature I can no longer live without and if you think I never steal a hunk of hubby's nachos, you're mistaken. I look forward to switching it up and trying more from their expansive menu. The chicken flautas, for example, are next on my hitlist! We Knew the food was going to be good soon as walked in. It was small but enough seating for 10-20 ppl and it was hot as hell in there. Remind me of spots in nyc. Places like these always have amazing food. You can smell the cilantro, onions and home made tortillas. I was craving some authentic Mexican tacos and had two little kids with me this afternoon so I decided to call in an order. I'd eaten here before - but that was over 15 years ago. Unfortunately - there's no menu online available. And if you go to their Facebook page - there's a website listed - tacoloco.com. But from your phone - you can't even access the menu - drop down does nothing - ARGH - but from a laptop you can. All good, right? Nope! Because upon further review - the website posted on their Facebook page is actually for a completely different, totally unrelated Taco loco located 3170 Fairfield Avenue, Black Rock, CT 06605 - Yes Connecticut. The menu is not even remotely the same! So I call - and ask the cashier about online menus and she tells me the owner says its on Facebook - so if I don't see it there - she doesn't know what to tell me. Ok - so I decide to do a Google image search and the only pic that's high enough resolution for me to read the menu board is one from March 2014 taken by wonderful fellow Yelper, Karo. It listed a kid's meal of 2 chicken 'pieces' (aka nuggets) and fries or rice for $2.50. More on that later. I figured if nothing else I can get the kids meals for $2.50 so I decide to just drive there. There's pretty much no parking. I had to park behind the restaurant and walk thru all the food trash / debris behind the pretty dark parking lot. It was a rainy night - so I had the added pleasure of stepping in several puddles as well. When I walked in - there were three Latino dudes placing orders, one person waiting and two couples eating. As others have mentioned, the place is tiny, so it was packed! Good sign. The aforementioned kid's meal is now $3.99. Okay. And the quesadilla only comes with chicken (or your favorite item) and cheese. I asked if I could add mushrooms and / or peppers - and the cashier said they didn't have mushrooms or peppers. The cashier smiled, but other than that she was completely unhelpful and another person walked in behind me while I was trying to figure out another option. I started to feel guilty and self-conscious with my indecision - so I decided to give up. This was a complete bust - and this is the reason why I don't like dining places without being able to view the menu online beforehand. LaParilla's is right down the street - but I knew that place would be slammed on Saturday evening and I'd just passed El Pollo Dorado to come here but a) they don't make quesadillas and b) I really didn't feel like dealing with trying to fight my way in and out of their nearly vertical parking lot - especially in this rain. I wound up leaving and heading somewhere else for non-Mexican food. read more

The mulas are good as well. My kids loved them. The tacos are over priced for the size. The .99 cent taco sign is what brought me in. Only chicken and ground beef wr99 cents. They do load you up with the toppings (onions , cilantro , lettuce, and yellow cheese ). The Quality of the meat was not the best. I would go back but only for the fish tacos. The tortilla was small, but it had a generous amount of beef and cilantro on it and was definitely worth the price. My friends ordered burritos instead, and they were very satisfied. I love this place. I'm a big "hole in the wall" kinda gal when it comes to carne asada tacos and I am rarely disappointed when I eat here. It reminds me of my college days in Los Angeles and visits to Tijuana-just simple, authentic, flavorful tacos. My new favorite taco is the potato chorizo taco - OMG, I could've eaten 6! Most of the tacos are $1.50 with cilantro and onions and they also offer .99 chicken and beef tacos. They also have a HOT salsa in their salsa bar that I love. Beverages include Horchata, sodas, and water bottles. Customer service is always good. The restaurant is clean and while there isn't a lot of indoor seating, I never have trouble securing a table.
