It had been years since I stepped into a Taco John's, maybe not since I left Wisconsin. But the moment I walked in, something familiar hit me. The smells and the menu, it was like stepping into a time machine. I ordered my old go-to: a meat and potato burrito and a pack of Olés. One bite and I was back in high school, sitting with friends, laughing over cheap tacos and crumpled napkins. (Unfortunately they are not cheap like they used to be) The food tasted just as I remembered. The service was fast, the staff welcoming, and the place spotless. It's rare when a chain can still capture that kind of comfort. But this visit reminded me why I loved it in the first place. read more

Had to give it a shot because I've never had nor heard of Taco John's. The price is similar to the Bell, and they even have a value box. They were decently fast at giving us our order after placing it. I was surprised to see a taco that wasn't broken at the bottom so points for that! Nothing really stood out; their hot sauce tasted kinda like Franks. Just seemed like a little different flavor than Taco Bell, but nothing that really sat them apart. I think it just comes down to where you grew up and if Taco John's was closer than Taco Bell to you.. I heard their breakfast was good; I'll have to try it, but I think I'd still stick with Taco Bell. read more

Growing up this was my favorite fast food. They are few and far between now unfortunately. It didn't disappoint at all however I wish they still had the choco taco But don't forget your nacho cheese for your potatoes!! read more

If I could succinctly describe Taco John's, I'd say they are a step up from Taco Bell, but still a fast food chain. Their food is pretty decent - I had the potato oles (tater tots in the shape of discs) and chicken bacon guac street taco (didn't taste the bacon though??). This location did not have dine in open, but there were several tables on the outside to eat at after going through the drive thru to order. Overall, not a bad place, but I'd probably look for a Taco Bell to hit that Tex Mex craving. read more

I have recently discovered Taco John's and I absolutely love it. However, this is my first time coming to this location. Now I understand that it is early in the morning and you are serving breakfast but it was very off putting to see the young lady taking my order wearing open toe flip flops, a pair of sweatpants, and a wife beater tank top. Oh, don't forget the doo rag on her head. I'm not up on all the regulations of the food service industry but I'm betting that walking around almost barefoot in the kitchen is not part of the regulations. I think I will go back to the other location and pass this one up next time. On a side note, the person that served me my food came out to have a cigarette while I was writing this review. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Taco John's when I moved here! Food is SO much better than Taco Bell. It's like Taco Bueno and Dell Taco had a baby and named it John. Try the beef and potato burrito. As far as fast food taco spots go(not little mom and pop Mexican taco shacks, but chain restaurants), this is a winner. Stopped here on a recent trip and decided to try there tacos. I ordered the 6 pk of beef tacos And a drink for like 5.99 great deal. They were decent tacos next time I'm back this way I'll stop again. The lady at the drive thru made sure I had plenty of napkins n salsa. Great service is much appreciated. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. First of all let me start by saying the girl at the window was very nice and deserves better than this trash of a restaurant. Now let's get down to the real bad stuff. My husband ordered "the BOSS burrito" now this states it comes with a POUND of rice, MEAT, and black beans... but what did we get?? A tortilla full of of rice, beans, sour cream, and no meat... not even a shred. Now in most cases I would be forgiving, but we spent $10(!!!) on this burrito. $10 to not even have a shred of meat. TEN DOLLARS... for a fast food burrito with no meat Next, the sauce... pace picante sauce in a package... disappointing Next, the beans.... how old were they?? The world may never know, but I would guess older than the building. And how did we eat them? Oh with the lid because we didn't even get a fork. Finally, the taco bravo... I would rather have Taco Bell's mystery meat any day of the week because it actually has flavor. I have been going to taco johns since i was a kid and the closing of taco johns near tech was a sad day. Especially considering the taco johns on main street is a complete joke they have dropped the good taco methodology to what i can only guess is to try and mirror tacobell by adding as little meat lettuce and cheese as possible. Where a once great taco had meat and cheese spread up the entire side of the taco shell and then heartily filled with lettuce. To the miserable crap tastic pile that it has become. Not to mention when the owner is not there the service and managers are a complete joke... its heart breaking taco johns has been a lifelong family tradition for me and mine and now im left without a single decent taco option in russellville.. read more

We always seek out Taco Johns when traveling. Don't have them in NC. Got hooked on them in the early 80s while working in Cheyenne Wy. Always good with a good selection of salsa at the salsa bar, not in plastic pouches. The one is no exception. Clean and workers friendly and helpful. read more

My dad and sister ate here on their way home from a trip and they are not local to this town. They were looking for a Taco Mayo because they have a gluten free menu, but since the one in Russellville closed, they decided to check this place out instead. They came in and asked if the food here was gluten free, the cashier said that most menu items were and assured them it would be safe. Little did my family know that nearly every item on the menu here is cross-contaminated with wheat. A few bites into their meal, my dad realized that there were chicken nuggets on the menu and asked if they were fried in the same fryer as the potatoes my sister was eating. The manager said yes, and they stopped eating immediately. Because this staff lied to my family, my sister is in so much pain, she is crying. Celiac is a serious disease and because of this staff's negligence, my sister is suffering. You will never have our business again, and I will tell everyone I know to not eat here!!!!! read more

Fast clean fresh. Have eaten here regularly for over a decade and can count on one hand the times they have screwed up. Probably because the owner constantly works there. I love that man and his tasty food! read more
