But once on the road, I needed something to tide me by and this McDonald's was a convenient stop off I-80. The touch screen ordering system was down and it was a pleasure to place an order with a human being, and a very helpful one. We negotiated to a double cheeseburger, small fries, and lemonade, which came out fast enough. Fast food is fast food, but a nice human touch does make a difference.

My family was traveling and decided to stop here on a whim. Man, I should have read the reviews beforehand. The young woman at the register with multiple facial piercings took our order, but she clearly wasn't paying attention. We kept our order as simple as possible, yet it was still wrong. They forgot one of our meals and my husband's side. Mistakes happen, so we let them know. It then took another 10 to 15 minutes to receive the missing items. Not the end of the world, right? The family we were traveling with had an even worse experience. They waited over 30 minutes while several families who ordered after them (and multiple drive-thru orders) were served first. At one point, I was convinced I could've walked behind the counter, clocked in, watched the training videos, and made their order myself. Were they waiting for the vegetables to finish growing? When they finally asked about their food, the staff showed zero urgency and simply said they'd have to wait even longer. After another 15 to 20 minutes, they gave up and asked for a refund. The manager (a middle aged guy) then informed them he had to "calculate" the refund because they'd already received their drinks. The lion, the witch, and the audacity of this dude. Like, bro... it's Taco Bell, not an accounting firm. Just apologize, own up to your mistake, and issue the full refund. He was doing too much. After a ridiculous amount of back and forth, I believe they finally got the full refund. Overall, this was one of the worst fast-food experiences I've ever had. This place felt poorly managed, unclean, and staffed by people who seemed either unwilling or unable to provide even basic customer service. Avoid this place like the plague.
