This is usually a pretty decent location and I usually go inside to raid the salsa bar while waiting for my order being put together... Today was the first time through the drive thru and all went smooth in getting ordered, sauce added~In and Out fast...But when unpacking at home problem #1 only five tacos in my six pack and a pound, doesn't sound like much but how do you not get Six in the bag¿ Problem #2 my ladies Chicken Taco salad had "2" ~ 3/4" Size cubes of chicken on it and it's not a very big salad, again how does that rationale happen? My wife and I stopped about a week ago and I have never had their breakfast so I picked some up today. Overall I think their staff is rude, and the food not that great. I spent 10.00 on two breakfast burritos sausage with cheese and some potatoes. I have been sick most of the day; and I thought it was expensive. But, I had to make sure I was. Been waiting almost 10 min and still waiting..... Cant believe this bad service and the lady was very rude I and very aggressive so I would not recommend. 0 stars! Ordered two soft shells, a burrito, and a taco salad. The taco salad was missing items, so returned and requested a refund but instead was told that they would remake the salad. The attitude the employee had was terrible and I didn't trust them to remake the salad without tampering with it, so again asked for a refund. Told no, only option was to take the salad with wilted lettuce and missing items back or a remake for a new one. Employee then took the returned salad and closed the window, so now I have no salad and no refund for the salad... Talked with the manager, Michelle. Sent a gift card in mail to use. Was informed that the employees can't refund if manager is not there. That would have cleared up the whole issue if they had just told us they couldn't with out a manager's approval from the beginning instead of acting like they did. read more

I'm only giving them one star because I have to. My grandma, mom and I all went into this Taco John's for a late lunch to celebrate an early Mother's Day. We had the absolute worst experience. First, I walked up to the counter to order my food. I had ordered a cheese quesadilla, large ole, and a large drink. My mom and family then ordered 4 beef tacos and two small ole. We paid, to which the cashier didn't know how to count change, and then stood there and waited for our drink cups. After we had to ask for our drink cups, we sat down and waited for our food. The taco's and ole had arrived to the table but I didn't receive my food. I had went up to the counter after 15 minutes of waiting to ask where my food was and they proceeded to tell me I had received all my food. They then said, "Where is your receipt?". I showed them, the employee then proceeded to slam a tortilla on the grill, throw some cheese in it, and then threw a small ole in the bag. Once the employee slammed the bag down on the counter, I told him I ordered a large ole, he then threw the large ole in the bag and walked away. At this point, I had asked to not receive my food, and asked for a refund to which, they ignored, said I could have my food to go and walked away. Once I got my food, because they practically shoved it in my face, I had taken two bites of my cheese quesadilla to realize it wasn't even cooked all the way. This was the worst customer service I have ever received, not to mention their cleanliness was subpar. I will not be going back to a Taco John's for a very long time. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. My wife and I drove thru last nite and did the six pack and a pound. Might have been the worst food ever! First off we received no napkins or any sauce. Usually you can't mess up the oles but, they were about half cooked and soggy. All the taco MEAT AND SHELLS WERE COLD! None of the 6 six tacos had any cheese or tomatoes on them, only cold meat and lettuce. 2 of them had less than maybe a teaspoon of meat...if that. Not only were the shells cold, they tasted old!! There was a cute enthusiastic server named Dakota working there who was more than helpful when I had questions about the food before I placed my order. She not only explained how things were prepared, she gave honest opinions as to what was good to eat. The food here is very noticeably better than the other Taco Johns that I occasionally get dragged to in Carroll, IA. I had always hated the Potato Ole's because they were dripping in grease, often cold inside, mostly tasteless, and in need of salt. But after my wife forced me to eat some more of them here, they were so much better I went and asked Dakota how come they were so different. She explained the cooking process and how it was cooked wrong in Carroll. read more

As a fast food restaurant, I don't necessarily expect a whole lot. The foot is tasty enough that I come back when I have a hankering for fast food Mexican. I do like their potato oles although high calorie. The hot sauce is not complicated, but I do like it a lot. The number and variety of options seems good to me. I think the food tends to be a little more expensive than usual fast food. Time to receiving your order will depend some what on how busy the place is and, I suppose, who is staffing the restaurant. read more

We just had a terrible experience at the Indianola, Iowa location on Jefferson St. We arrived inside the location at 12:23pm, we left at 1:07pm for a Togo order. After they messed up our order twice, my wife was very upset. They were making drive thru a priority while making the rest of the people inside wait. We waited for them to process 10 drive thru orders to our one. On top of that they messed up the two previous orders in front of us as well. Employee Jules and manager Austin were extremely rude. At one point Jules took off her mask in front of me and told us that drive thru was their priority because they have to meet certain times otherwise they get penalized. The manager refused to talk to me while he had two employees talking to me. The entire situation was very unprofessional. I have visited taco johns weekly since 1996 and have never experienced this kind of behavior before. The owner of this franchise and corporate needs to be aware. This manager should not be in this position if he's not willing to talk to the customer. Also, forcing your locations to meet certain drive thru times impacts the people taking the time to dine in. This ultimately will not affect the locations I visit on a weekly basis because those locations are managed properly. Locations like this and treat YOUR customers poorly should be dealt with by corporate. read more

So this is my Taco Bell experience. I went Taco Bell after the World Series for a "free taco". Not only did they charge me for this, I waited over an hour for my cinnamon delights. After they gave it to me I said "Surprise, I'm a yelper" and watched the happiness drain from there face. Taco Johns has always been our go-to fast food restaurant. My family had stopped by around 5:45pm after an afternoon in Des Moines. We decided to walk in since we weren't sure what we wanted and didn't want to hold the line in drive thru. The couple ahead of us was just reviving their food. The two young gentlemen working behind the counter didn't acknowledge us at all. No "we will be with you in a moment"....nothing. We overhead one of them telling the other "stop taking orders". That was when I realized they knew we were there and were choosing to ignore us. My husband said "Arby's?", thinking the gentleman would realize customers are thinking of going elsewhere for their food. Still no acknowledgement from the help. My husband finally got the attention of one of them and asked if they were ready to take our order. The only response was "no". Since they were not interested in helping us out, we turned around and left. As we were walking out, another family was walking in. We proceeded to stop at another nearby restaurant to get some dinner. As we drove by on our way home, we could see that there was someone sitting in the restaurant with a couple cars in the drive thru.
