We got three burritos. We went in a few minutes before they closed the lobby not knowing the fact. I think they could tell we were from out of town and very tired, so they were very patient with us. Portion sizes were good, food tasted great, and service was outstanding! read more

We arrived late in Hot Springs and found Taco John's. Just what we were looking for. Very friendly staff, courteous quick service. I had the Street Tacos, pork, and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the tacos tasted. Needless to say they don't look as advertised but they arrived with a fresh lime slice to squeeze over the tacos. Very satisfying. We also split an order of the Supreme Potatoes Ole. In all honesty they were plenty to have been an entree in their own right. The interior of the restaurant is old fast food style, but it fits. Absolutely horrible. Got bean and cheese burritos and asked for beef on them and light cheese. Got no beef and extra cheese and hot sauce when I didn't ask for any. Went back up and they said well and Grabed some beef and opened up the burrito and put it on and then walked away. Nothing was the right order and very slow. Made a mess on the side of the trey. Several steps above fast food tacos. Steak street tacos with excellent meat. The tater tots they serve as a side were great. I would eat here once a week if I lived here. They did a great job. read more

I love Taco John's and can't wait to eat it when I am back in the Midwest, but this Taco John's isn't the best one you'll ever visit. My dad LOVES TJ's, so I been to more than the average person. It's really the only place we are when going anywhere. The food here was on par with other's, but the service was discombobulated. They had tons of people working, but no one acknowledged us or welcomed us to order. Eventually she took our order but called out my order wrong so I was unsure if my good would come out right. Miraculously it did! So she redeemed herself back to a four star. In general, the place is dated and random decor, but like I said the food was fine. You'll leave happy, just maybe hoping they get their service act together. read more

Hot Springs, SD Taco Johns I read about the Taco Johns customer service experience from another individual on here. I am an avid lover of some Taco Johns. Trust me, I have spent around $15.00-$30.00 for Taco Johns a day (sometimes over $100.00 a week) and have gone on some Taco Johns eating sprees. I honestly really love their food and their iced tea. Anyway, I am thinking it is break time until their customer service experience improves. There was an order that was taken today and there was a Stuff Grilled Taco missing, we called and told Aaron (who is actually a pretty great guy), there was supposed a note left, and the Stuff Grilled Taco was supposed to be picked up later. Well, so the Stuff Grilled Taco was never received. I find that if an establishment wants to argue, does not take the customers word, or as in Taco John's case there have been many throughout this last year - mainly more on the women's side who have been really rude and seem disrespectful then one should not do business with them. There have been more then a few times that my side of Nacho Cheese has been missing also, but I did not complain or even try to get another one even though they cost $0.99 each. All I am saying is if there is no valuing the customer, then the establishment should not get my business. Side note: Usually I am not one to complain or voice my opinion too much. Stopped here after visiting the mammoth site. The lady who took our order was simply awesome. She enjoyed her job you could tell. We were from Ohio and never ate here before and she provided us some samples and recommendatiojs. We would definitely come back. Tried to get the ladies name to tell her manager, but, she had no name tag on (so if you read this, you were great!!) Churro, chicken bowls, buritos,and tacos were all great. read more

The seating area isn't very clean but the food is good. Usually when I come here I take my food to-go and go to a friends house or a local park. The breakfast potato ole bowls are great. The Super Nachos and Burritos are good to. Try an apple grande for dessert, be warned they put grated cheese on the apple grades so ask for none if you are allergic. read more

I wanted to give a zero star but could not do this on yelp. This was a bad idea going to this Taco Johns in Hot Springs, SD. They had terrible service, and messed up our order. I now refer to going to the bathroom as taking a 'Taco Johns'. Instead you should go to Dairy Queen. read more
