This is still my tried and true stop for delicious tex-mex tacos, something that is becoming much harder to find. It's extremely no frills but when I'm looking for my hard shell chili taco fix, this is exactly where I find myself. I prefer to dine inside because the tacos are incredibly messy and they give you a big squeeze bottle of their watered down salsa, so you can add as much as you'd like without a care in the world. While they might not be the friendliest, I do understand that I'm going here to essentially eat what looks like dog food in a taco shell, so I'm not trying to fix what isn't broken! read more

This ain't it! I came here for convenience because I was in the area and was inconvenienced. This is far from Mexican food. I ordered 2 chicken tacos - hard shell and soft. I've been here twice. The first time I went I got the Shrimp burrito for less than $10! While it was HUGE. The flavors were just ok and it was falling apart the whole time. I love these guys. If you live in Baldwin/Freeport, your order arrives in like 15 minutes, it's crazy how fast the food gets to you. Inside of restaurant is fine if you want to eat there: quiet, spacious, clean. But I always order from here because of their LIGHTNING FAST delivery. Food is reliably good for the price and portions are good. Only complaint is the guac isn't very good. Also, up-charge on the sides is a little high. Restaurant was clean and the food was prepared quickly. The shrimp was seasoned well, my son and I both enjoyed them. The chicken wasn't as well seasoned and it was dark meat which I didn't like either. The mozzarella sticks were great my son loved them!! Decided to order from here because my boyfriend said he got a decent burrito... We ordered vegetable fajitas, but were very confused when we opened the vegetables to find a bunch of steamed cabbage, broccoli, and carrot seasoned only with oil and black pepper. Veggies and beans were pretty flavorless. Thankfully we had a solid collection of hot sauces in our cabinet to make up for it. Taco Hut, if you're gonna take liberties with what's in your "Mexican" food, please indicate so on your menu. When I think about Taco Hut, I'm reminded of IKEA furniture. --- Easy, cheap and just gets the job done. Taco Hut, is as you can guess, yet another small tex-mex joint that serves up cheapo food to satisfy that shrimp burrito or black bean taco craving you are having. I've stopped here on my way home from work -- and found out that, yeah it's OK. The chicken meat (and beans in my case) were well seasoned and the tortillas were piping hot and super soft. Staff is a little easily confused but for $5.45 I left the store with a full stomach and a smirk on my face. Clean with plenty of parking. read more

My office orders from here once in a while. Truthfully -- its really not the "best" mexican food, but it is pretty tasty. Unfortunately I doubt they use a "good" part of the chicken in their cooking -- definitely not lean chicken breast, however again, it is tasty. Yes, at first glance you feel like you're in a Chinese take-out place, but they are indeed cooking their take on "Tex-Mex" cuisine. I got the Guacamole Nachos and a shrimp taco. I didnt like the shrimp taco, but I never had one before and maybe its just not my thing. The nachos were so good. I My boyfriend got the Jack Cheese Chicken and Steak Quesadilla and Grilled Chicken and Steak Combination. He loved it all. We ordered delivery from this place another time. I shouldnt have ordered the hard tacos because by the time I got mine delivered, they were soggy not crunchy but still good. The food tasted fresh and was very yummy. One thing I was very disappointed about was when I was there, I saw that they put the food in Styrofoam type containers in the microwave. I dont think you should be putting Styrofoam in the microwave. Because that I wont be eating here to often. This is the only reason I didnt give them 4 stars. Its super unhealthy to do that. I like this place. It's no frills but clean and they work fast. My food always tastes fresh and the staff friendly enough. I order the soft shrimp tacos most of the time. They're my favorite.
