My sister-in-law came over to visit today and said she wanted to try the new taco place on Leaders Heights. Let me just say: DON'T! WOW! $35 for 2 small burrito bowls and 2 soft tacos. Nothing else. No drinks. No anything. My sister-in-law questioned the cost when she picked them up. She said your employees were walking through the "restaurant" eating. Really? I'm sorry to be hateful but your food is NOT good. I'm sitting hear trying to eat the soft taco. It's a tortilla with sandy, no-flavor meat, lettuce, tomato ,and cheese. We dumped taco and hot sauce on the food to give it taste. According to your website absolutely everything else is extra. How much do I need to pay for 2 tacos? Had I known how BAD your food is I would have asked her to drive to East York and buy the food at Robburrito. The same thing there would have been less than $25. I could have had her get burritos at Chipotle for $9-$10.50 each no extra cost for the actual toppings. Terrible. Like the other review said, if this was the last place left on the planet, I would not eat here. I gave you an extra star because my dog was willing to eat it. .............. It's now an hour later and I'm adding to my review. My stomach has been upset for the last hour after part of one taco and no it's not the mild Ortega taco sauce I added to the disappointment we bought from you. I have no problem with praise and want my local small businesses to thrive. You guys not do much. Do or do not. There is no try...... read more

Taco House - Health Warning: DO NOT EAT HERE - Mexican Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

If I could give them a -1 star I would!! Do not eat here if you have high standards! I ordered a steak burrito in a bowl, and what I got was dogfood in a bowl. It was disgusting I will never go there again... This was a three timer... First, Last and only... read more

Taco House - It was supposed to be a STEAK burrito, but it looked like ground beef... - Mexican Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

We came here with great expectations based on what we had heard from others mostly on Facebook. I should have read the reviews here. The food was bland, burnt and barely edible. Ordered chicken mole taco, received beef. Chips were burnt, pick had no flavor at all. Burrito bowl and 2 tacos with chips and drink were $26. read more

Pros: Food was prepared fresh and the portions are enormous! Food tastes very good, as well! You can tell they make everything from scratch. Cons: No mask worn during pandemic. Employee did not have shirt covering up underarm while cooking. read more

We were so excited to try this place and had high hopes. Unfortunately everything we ordered was just awful, flavorless and ultimately inedible. We got the cheese quesadilla, burrito bowl and the street tacos and everything was just yuck. I would highly recommend not eating here. read more

Taco House - a plate of food on a table - Mexican Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

Pretty good, the second time we went was better than the first. Would come back here again. They have a lot of free toppings, which is something a lot of places don't have! They have many toppings available, so you would actually save money by coming here. They are generous with their portion sizes. Chicken is a little bland, and could be more evenly cut up into pieces instead of good sizes and then just random big chunks of chicken breasts. This place is always pretty steady business, so I would recommend ordering on the app or over the phone. Lots of customization options. They also have Local Flavors available, which helps encourage us to go back there. read more

First time here. Food is great. Chicken and Corizo street taco. Delicious. I will be coming back. Lots of meats and many options. read more

Tried this place yesterday despite all the bad reviews. I thought it's was really good. I had street tacos (1 chicken 1 steak and 1 beef) My wife had a Veggie Cheese Quesadilla And we shared chips and pico The food was really good! The chips were warm and fresh, the quesadilla was awesome (messy but awesome) and the street tacos were good too. I preferred the chicken and steak I've the beef taco but they were all pretty good. Place was clean People were nice Not sure what else you can ask for from a neighborhood place. read more

Not sure where the other reviewers were eating but my experience was fantastic and the food was really great. Portion sizes were very generous, steak burrito was excellent and the street corn was very flavorful as well. Finished it off with churros and it hit the spot. Definitely looking to come back. read more

Good freshly made food , local business and a great owner. Dana was very affable and told me about her journey on what inspired her to open this joint. Tacos were on point and I love the fact that they zero net carb tortillas! My fave taco joint going forward! Please keep some fresh radishes and grilled leeks to make it even more authentic! :-) read more

My husband and I tried the loaded and smothered chicken quesadilla and it was delicious HUGE portion was enough for us to have two meals for two. And this business showed up to support a local family during a time of need. Highly recommend' read more

the place is genuinely awful. A joke of Mexican food, i seriously don't know how you make something as simple as a menu so impossible to find LOL. the food is god awful and the owners should really consider closing permantely read more

I started with high hopes. As soon as you walk in the place smells delicious, made me feel happy and satisfied already. We ordered, i believe both items were around $10. They have berch Beer in the soda fountain i was happy to see that! We got our food super quick, I had a burrito bowl FILLED almost making a mess on the table when I went to mix everything up. The chicken was seriously over spiced, not hot but over kill on taco seasoning. We also got a burrito, it was huge bigger then what you get at Qdoba, except the steak was so great and had no seasoning what so ever.. talk about night and day difference. I did ask for my money back I just ate what I could stomach and tossed the rest. Good luck if you wanna check them out, I won't be back. read more

Ate here once and it will be my last. Was really disappointed in the food. I believe I got a burrito and my mom got a quesadilla. Few bites in and went to the garbage. Just wasn't good. Nothing authentic about it. Weird setting and off putting vibes. Sorry. Wont be recommending to anyone read more

I stopped in since my car was charging for an hour. I was initially reluctant because of the negative reviews. I should've listened and just grabbed something from the Sheetz. The staff was friendly, but the food was horrible. I had a shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp were so salty and the quesadilla was dry. It was like they soaked the shrimp in old bay for days. I definitely won't be returning. $7.50 in the trash. read more

Taco House - Shrimp quesadilla - Mexican Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

Unfortunately I can't recommend the taco house. There are some really great components here but it doesn't all come together very well. For example- awesome fried salad shells and the Brianna sauce is fantastic. But the meats are bland and the rice we were served was extremely mushy and overall not great. I hope to see them hone their ingredients and flavors over time! read more

We were so excited to try this place out because it's very close to my house, we like The taqueria in Dover but that's a bit far away. We decided to try a few items on the menu, extremely overpriced. We get home and there is no seasonings or sauce on anything. Straight up cooked beef, chicken and tiny shrimp. No flavor no nothing. Got the "roll up tacos" we pictured it would be like taquitos but no, it was a corn tortilla rolled and broken up (because of rolling) with a little bit of unseasoned meat inside. Very disappointed. Decided to try again because people suggested to try with the sauces they offer, still did not enjoy. Spent over $70 on not great food. Definitely will continue to make the drive to Dover. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I should. So far below expectations I could cry. Look at my belly, I always finish my meal...except this time. The guacamole was brown, chicken and beef had no flavor. Who puts stewed tomatoes on a taco? The salsa was freshish....although it had jalapeño stem in it. So yeah....don't go until they get better. Also the guy wasn't wearing gloves while making our food...no mask (whatever), no gloves (yuck). read more

Very, very disappointed. We were very excited to have a new taco place in town but this did not live up to expectations at all. Food was luke warm, tacos did not come as ordered and had what was the consistency of stewed tomato's on them. Meat had absolutely no flavor and was super bland. The side of guac was bad and more towards the color of brown than green. The lady who took our order was very friendly but the man who dished up our food did not wear gloves. So disappointed! read more

I thought the tacos I got were amazing! Beef street tacos- the guacamole with chunks of jalepeno brought hearts to my eyes! I thought the beef had a ton of flavor on its own and I'll definitely be going back! Also the tacos are huge! read more

Saw their name in a newspaper article about tacos in York County, so gave them a try. Overall, food was okay, but bland. Not a lot of spices being used in preparing the food. There's nothing exceptional about the food, but I would not say it's bad either. We tried some chicken tacos and a burrito bowl, and we liked the fresh toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, onions & peppers, etc...) If we are in the area and looking for lunch or dinner, we'll try to remember them, but not going to go out of my way to get tacos or burritos here. There are too many other better options out there for tacos and burritos. read more

Great food at fair prices. The food portions or generous & very thing is freshly made. Very nice Staff that work here. A lot of parking and it's right of Rt 83. we will be coming back. The taco's where delicious read more

My brother and I are 2 hungry teens who are the least picky people in the world. Yet neither of us could finish our meals. He had the steak tacos and I had a burrito bowl. Maybe we were spoiled by our Mexican mother's cooking but the meat was horrendous. It was flavorless and the texture made it seem like it was a vegetarian substitute. To make matters worse, the green salsa was just mashed up tomatillos. Immensely sour, barely salted, and not blended enough. For perspective, I would choose Taco Bell over this 10/10 times. I respect the effort and hate to take a dump over small, family owned businesses, but it's obvious that they don't really know what they're doing. Giving them an extra pity star lol read more

I've tried a couple different things from the menu and haven't had a bad experience! This place is super close to where I live and work so it's very convenient! Everyone is also so friendly So far I've tried the taco bowl, loaded nachos, chicken street taco, beef street taco, cinnamon chips and the Mexican corn cup! Everything is always super good! My parents also have had the loaded nachos and also the hard shell beef tacos which they both loved! read more

Taco House - Beef taco bowl - Mexican Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

The place seems clean and the people seemed nice, but those are the only reasons this isn't a 1-star review. The food was extremely plain and tasteless. From the peaks of my imagination to the depths of my nightmares, I could never have dreamed up tacos that taste as much like soggy paper as these tacos do. It's astounding how flavorless the food is. Water has more zest than the food at Taco House. Out of the four separate meals ordered during this visit, it felt as though each was in a bitter competition with the others to score a zero on the flav-o-meter. The only exception was the burrito, which had a distinct mouthwash and chapstick flavor to it. read more

I don't ever write reviews, but my gauc was so brown and watery I couldn't stomach to eat it. I got chips and salsa and cinnamon chips and they were BOTH half cook chips over half didn't even have a crunch to them. The chicken taco was pretty good, I got a beef and shrimp as well. The shrimp was over cooked very rubbery and the beef was not a pleasant flavor. My pico was very bland seemed to have no salt or lemon lime juice to bring it together. The people seemed nice, it was a really cute place I wanted to love it but I won't spend my money here again. read more

Definitely could have been better.. Taco meat was not flavorful at all and the waterlogged lettuce ruined my whole taco salad, making even the taco meat mushy. The only thing we enjoyed were the chips... disappointing. read more

The food is amazing. The owners are great. Everyone in our family loved it from the kids to the adults. A must try.

First let me say I love supporting local businesses so when I heard about The Taco House I had to check them out. Finally!! I found the place to get yummy street tacos. Before ordering, I asked if they recommended two or three tacos? I was told employees at a neighboring business said, for them, two tacos were satisfying and three would be filling. I opted to go all in and ordered three steak tacos. Their advice was spot on. I was satisfied after taco number two and stuffed after three. I ordered the tacos the traditional way which was a corn tortilla stuffed with steak, onions, salsa, and cilantro and I opted to add queso fresco. The tacos were flavorful and delicious and I will definitely be back for another round. #HappyCustomer read more

Ordered soft shell tacos and the burrito. The shredded beef on the taco had no seasoning; could barely see the sour cream; very little shredded cheese and requested pico de Gallo but did not get it. The burrito was bland also. No sauces were listed on the menu to request on the side. read more

I stopped in for a quick dinner and was totally impressed with the food! Setting was so so, but the staff was totally awesome and I have to say, this is the freshest food I've had at a taco place since forever! And the tacos were so over stuffed, I needed a fork to reduce them down to a hand held size. I was barely able to finish the three soft tacos but they were so good, I over indulged... Be forewarned, their fresh jalapeños and chipotle sauce are pretty hot, I had to ask for extra napkins to wipe the sweat off my brow! read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would. Food is really garbage and the taco bowl was freezing cold. Enchiladas have no flavor and it's not authentic at all. AT ALL. Just leave it to the professionals. Also weird vibes from the moment the door opened. read more

This spot has wonderful people in it but, the food is not authentic as it's advertised I got orders of steak tacos and rule number one in tacos never put the sauces and vegetables on the taco put it on the side so you don't have to worry about the not seasoned steak to just split the tortilla u need better tortillas I will come again because the people there look like they will take under consideration what this comment is saying improve guys if you want to copy a culture embrace it I know this establishment can do better. read more
