One of the best places in town for a non-Hispanic taco that's out of the ordinary. My favorites are their steak taco and the blackened shrimp taco, and I like the "bowl" option too. First time in Downtown Ft. Pierce we were looking for something good to eat for lunch and the reviews lead us to this place. My first impression of the place was that it was small and it had a funky smell to it. The building is kinda old so it has an old type of smell to it. I don't know if it was the A/C or the walls - I couldn't quite pinpoint it. Most of the tables were high top style and like 2 were regular type of tables. It has a rustic bar type of setting although they don't offer a wide selection of drinks- just some beer - no margaritas. The menu isn't very big at all. We ordered Guacamole and chips to start off with and some tacos as our main dish. I had the chicken and steak tacos and my husband ordered the Pork, Steak and Fish (Swordfish) Tacos. The food was good- the guacamole was tasty and the tacos were surprisingly filling! There is no side dish with the tacos, so if your really hungry I suggest you order an appetizer. I had a taste for authentic tacos and came across this spot that's located in downtown Fort Pierce. The atmosphere (ambiance) is nice, the staff and service was pleasant and great . Interesting taco joint. Nothing like you're used to. A Hot Dog Taco, Irish Taco, Cajun Shrimp and the BLT Dive Taco, which I got, are some of their taco offerings. Wow. I met the entire staff and this place is where to be in Fort Pierce. Chef Joel AND THE STAFF are amazing and super nice. I recommend sitting at the bar order an Islamorada Beer and just take it all in. The kitchen is next to the bar so you get to see all the action. They have great beers on tap (my favorite is Islamorada Ale-nice and light). I have the steak tacos, they were very filling and delicious. I cannot wait to come back and tryout the rest of the menu. Stopped in here for lunch and am extremely glad that I did. The place was pretty packed, so I sat at the bar. I was greeted right away by a woman who I think may have been an owner? She was very friendly, as were all the other staff members. The kitchen is open to the bar, and I was pleased to see how clean and organized everything was. The menu isn't huge, but I tend to find that places that make exceptional food don't need a huge menu, and that was proven true here. The largest selection is the tacos, with everything from traditional combinations (beef, chicken, pork) to more unique offerings such as corned beef and cabbage (the Irish) and BLT. I had the Irish taco and the Pork taco. The Irish was corned beef, cabbage, tator tots, and spicy mustard. Super flavorful, literally like a St Paddy's day meal in a tortilla. The pork taco came with shredded pork, cabbage, pineapples, and a Thai inspired sauce. Super fresh and flavorful. Both were pretty generous in size (I see why they give you a fork on the side!) and both delicious - I couldn't decide which one I liked more, they were so good. Honestly, probably some of the best tacos I've ever had. They also had a good selection of beers on tap, though since I had to get back to work I didn't get a chance to try any. I also ordered a drunken burrito.....that is definitely not what I got. I'm not sure what exactly I got but I know it wasn't a burrito of any kind. There were beans, rice & absolutely no tortilla. So I paid for a burrito but clearly got something else. Taco salad maybe? No idea but I wasn't driving back at that point. It's a toss up as to whether I will go back again or not. More than 5 stars are deserved! Excellent service, excellent food! We go to the Vero Beach location once a week, during this locations shut down we realized how few places have both to offer. While dining there once a week we met Danielle, she is one of the waitress there. She is great at what she does and you can tell she loves her job. She makes it personal, as busy as they are on the nights we go, she always makes you feel like you are her only customer. She is the employee every restaurant owner wishes they had. Side Note for Owners: Once the Vero Beach location reopened and we went to eat we noticed Danielle was not working when asked we were advised she was working in the other Ft. Pierce location.
