Yesterday, a friend of mine asked me to meet her at Taco Dive in Fort Pierce. She was driving back from Port St Lucie (we both live in Fort Pierce) and as I had never been or heard of them, I said sure why not? She bragged on the food. I arrive at about noon, our meet up time. Waitresses are super friendly, say sit anywhere and I took at tabletop near the cooks. I ordered a virgin Arnold Tea, then after a bit asked for chips/queso. My friend did not arrive until almost 2p. She thought Taco Dive was still near the Beach (closed over a year ago) and struggled with the parking lot app, etc. Then discovered restaurant not there at that location. The girls kept refilling my glass of Arnold tea. Thank goodness the chips were hot/plentiful and the cheese warm and gooey. When my friend finally arrived, she wanted to go somewhere else. #1 because the place is small and #2 she had her dog with her and the only option was to sit outside near the street. I had to ask for a menu. they blonde haired girl was very condescending when she brought the menu by saying"I need to warn you it's more than a 30min wait for yoir order. I advised her I just want to start the process by placing and order.Her response made me decideagainst trusting what I consume from their establishment. While this location is a bit of a drive for me, it's definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm around. It's a small restaurant, very cozy and a few larger tables to accommodate groups. The food was served very quickly and all of it was pretty tasty. Shrimp taco was delicious! The shrimp were cooked perfectly (not overcooked like many places tend to do). The chicken taco is shredded chicken breast. The toppings and sauces were perfect. The burrito is a pretty decent size, surprised to find tater tots in them! The sauce was a queso type- really good! Would have loved to try the pork but it wasn't available until the evening, we went for lunch. Tater tots are cooked perfectly crunchy. The cooks do a great job! Staff is very friendly as well. Not a big selection of beer but a few choices. They don't have kids options but you can put something together for them and if they're picky eaters, prob not a lot of choices. Prices are pretty average. Not the highest and not low. Definitely a little twist to tacos but pleasant twist! I liked the food and ambiance. Been one of our "go tos" for years. Thought lately very disappointed in beer selection (probably the best brewery around is just down the street and they don't carry their beers) and inconsistent on pours. We ordered an IPA and they came in small pear-shaped glasses, maybe 8 ounces. When asked, the waitress said it was because of alcohol content. We noted it was just 6% so she changed her story to that it was "special". Well the guy at the table next to us had the same beer in a pint glass. Just didn't make sense, unless she figured we would be more likely to order more. The food is still good though kind of surprising that they haven't added to the menu in years. I was visiting friends in the Fort Pierce area, and had some time to kill while they were handling business down the street. I had no idea where to eat, and I was starving! Everything is fantastic. My mother and I always eat there. When we are in a hurry we go thru the drive-thru. We especially love your taco boxes because they are similar to KFC. I popped in for a snack before a long drive and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the steak taco just the way it comes and it was possibly the best taco I've ever had. The flavors were amazing, the meat tender and it was loaded full of ingredients such as cilantro sauce, cojita cheese, tomatoes, sliced cabbage and radishes and of course plenty of steak. I just wish I took a photo of my taco before I devoured it to show you. I came at the end of lunch rush so didn't have to wait for a table and the server was very friendly. My boyfriend who is a Florida native decided to bring me to this little spot today while we are in town visiting. I can easily say I was very impressed! I am usually hesitant with fish tacos, as I prefer filets but Taco Dive really nailed it! We got the Fresh Fish of the Day tacos, today was Swordfish and they were absolutely delicious! The lemon aioli sauce was the icing on top! Let's not even get started on the appetizer. We got the spicy tomatillo salsa and chips, this had to be the best salsa I have ever had! Food was good. I love the pork tacos. They came with a delicious Thai sauce and pineapple! Yummmmy. And the chicken taco was yummy too. I will say, some of the tacos are expensive (5-8$ each) BUT they do load them up with a lot of meat and toppings! The service was friendly and the ambiance was nice and laid back. We stopped here on Friday, Oct 22 for lunch at about 11:45AM during our drive from Ft Lauderdale to Cape Canaveral. We sat indoors, and it wasn't very busy at the time we arrived; however, it picked up by the time we left. We had some very friendly servers and we found everyone to be nice and friendly. The food was equally as good. We had the Irish Taco and the Cajun Shrimp Taco along with the Drunken Burrito. Everything we had was super delicious and the portions per the prices were on par with what you would expect. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The menu itself has a good variety of street style tacos, appetizers and a great smothered burrito. I got the steak and Cajun shrimp tacos and was amazed at how great they tasted. Both tacos were large and very full. They were very generous with the sauce and the avocado on top! The avocado was very fresh and added a great touch to the dish. My wife got the beef burrito and added the "smothered" option. I was a little skeptical about having tatter tots inside a burrito but it was amazing! The tots were crispy and crunchy and added some great textures overall. This was solid winner in downtown Ft. Pierce, everything made quickly to order. Excellent service from the team. A small fun place to grab a beer with tacos and burritos. My Son would call this a hipster taco place, and that is exactly what it is. Tater tots with pulled pork in my burrito was good, but it had a weird nacho cheese sauce on top that was just off in flavor to me. What this place needs to kick it up is to make and provide a red & green authentic salsa that you can add to your tacos and burritos.
