Oh boy Taco Bill !
Well I have to say I was told that this is Australia's version of Taco Bell in the USA, well its not. This is a restaurant not fast food. If you have been to Australia or live there now you might be aware they don't have very good Mexican food by US standards maybe it's good to Australia standards but no way comparable to anything in the USA. Now having said that Taco Bill is not that bad and didn't kill my wallet. It's not super fancy and it's not cheesy it's right in the middle. I had the "La Combinacion" with beef and yes no "T" in this word, I also tried the "Burrito Bowl" with chicken and their version of "Elote Corn" I don't remember what they called it but that's what they where going for. Over all pretty good, the only things I was bummed about where the lack of Mexican flavor, especially in the rice and there was no real Mexican hot sauce like cholula or tapatio, Oh ya ! The coke was like $4 so stay away from that, also the house salsa wasn't bad. Actually pretty good. I appreciate the effort to replicate Mexican food in a none Mexican food region but don't forget you still need to use Mexican spices like Cumin, Garlic Powder, Cinnamon, Mexican Oregano, Onion Power, Coriander (or Cilantro), Chili Powder, Paprika, Achiote paste, Ancho chili powder, Chipotle, and Hoja Santa. I am a firm believer that Mexican food is a true street food and should never be too expensive or dolled up in any way. It's perfect the way it is, so having said that thank you Taco Bill for trying ! I shall return. read more
