Tips:
- This eatery is a part of a Taco Bell - KFC combo store.
- It has a drive-thru. I actually had to say something before a staff member came to take my order.
On Saturday, I felt like having Taco Bell for dinner. I couldn't tell you when I last had Taco Bell.
I remembered this Taco Bell location on Highway 7, east of Pine Valley Drive in Vaughan. It's a combo store with KFC. Perfect!
I hit the drive-thru at around 5:45 pm. I sat there waiting for someone to say hi. I got pure silence for at least a minute. Weird!
I turned the volume back on my music. I turned it off. Nothing.
I finally said hi. A few seconds later, I got a woman on the other end. Maybe the system wasn't sensing a vehicle at the drive-thru or things got busy? I don't know.
The wait allowed me to thoroughly look at the entire menu.
I decided to go with the classic luxe box for $10. I asked that no sour cream be added. I also swapped out the chips and nacho cheese sauce for fries supreme.
I specified my drink to be a Diet Pepsi. When she repeated my order, my drink became a Mountain Dew baja blast. Huh?
Again, weird!
I saw dessert empanadas and got one of each:
- Chocolate fudge
- Caramel
I got my total. I drove up closer to the pickup window. There was a Tesla Cybertruck in front of me. It looked slightly uneven when I looked at it. I didn't know if it was the pavement or the vehicle itself.
When I finally reached the pickup window, I paid by tapping my credit card on the payment machine. I got my Diet Pepsi first. It was cold and yummy.
She asked me if I needed any sauces. I went with mild.
I had to wait a bit for the empanadas and food to be made. Moment later, i got everything in a paper bag. I thanked her and left.
I check the bag's contents. It had everything. I put it in an insulated bag. It was great having hot food at home.
I liked this classic luxe box. I didn't get any sour cream on anything, which I appreciated.
I had the fries supreme first. So good! It had lots of cheese, tomatoes, and beef on the perfect amount of fries. I'm more of a nachos supreme person, but changing things up with fries was a good move.
The description of this box called for a crunchy taco. I didn't get one. I got a soft taco, which is okay as I tend to go with a soft taco than a hard one. I loved it. It had a decent amount of filling that was similar to the fries supreme, but with lettuce added to the mix.
The beef burrito was excellent. I haven't had one in a long time. I liked the filling with rice. It was delicious. I should get it more often.
The empanadas were okay. The exterior was too thick. If the dough part were thinner, I'd like them more. The caramel and chocolate fudge fillings were flavourful and not too sweet. It was the exterior that was harder and thicker than it should have been.
I'd return to try more items off the menu. I will likely steer clear of the dessert empanadas.
