Listen.. I just came in DT for a chalupa.. and uh.. my chalupa wasn't.. chalupa-ed? Oopsies..

    Everyone just standing around

If I could give this place a zero I would we are here and they have 10 people in the back and 5 standing at the front counter but still take 30-45 min for our food and it's always cold and messed up this place needs a revamp and all new staff horrible place to eat at don't waste your time or money

I'm pretty sure the food is supposed to be inside the wrapper.

Dirty inside and out, extremely slow service, and poorly made food make this the worst location I've ever eaten at. It took 22 minutes to get 5 items, and one of them wasn't made correctly. The replacement I received was so poorly wrapped, sauce was leaking out one side.

Drive thru orders always results in shorted items or get home to find out food wasn't even made correctly.

My wife and I were in town for a soccer match (winners!) and needed a late lunch. Our normal go-to…read morespot in Seymour, Larrison's Diner, was closed because it was after 2:00 in the afternoon so we needed something new. Our first choice was a little fish sandwich shop that looked a bit different, but after they turned out to be closed that day we went across the street to San Marcos. And holy heck am I glad we did! It looks like a typical Mexican place inside - bright colors, decor from the same restaurant supply store every Mexican restaurant seems to use, but with the addition of what I would consider the 'nightclub section' with a dance floor, multiple lighting effects and a big video board. It was early afternoon, so obviously that area wasn't in use but I bet it's an interesting place after dark! Service was great - quick to the table, easy refills on everything. My wife ordered the Chimichanga and I went against my norms and did the 'create your own' platter and chose three items: Burrito, Chimi, and another Chimi. This was strategic because USUALLY when you see a 'create your own' that means tiny sized items - half a burrito, half a chimi, etc. - figured I wanted more chimi than burrito. Seems they don't do that here. My platter was HUGE. Full-sized beef burrito, delish. TWO full-sized beef chimichangas. Also delish. Plus beans and rice. I even did something I never do: Asked for a box to take an entire chimichanga home with us. Wife loved hers as well. This is a must-repeat. In fact, Larrison's may be the past and this place is my future the next time I'm in Seymour. Which is likely never, but if we are anywhere nearby, we'd make a side trip to eat here again.

If we lived in Seymour I'd be here weekly. To start, the chips were just made and the accompanying salsa had a delightfully different flavor. Together just perfect. I had the Shrimp Vera Cruz which was shrimp and sliced potatoes in a nicely spiced red sauce and served with a salad and rice. My wife ordered the Carnitas Street Tacos served with rice and refried beans. The carnitas were perfectly grilled. The taco shells were also so fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal.

Four of us searched for a place to eat lunch yesterday after a maddening experience in Commiskey…read moreIndiana. Seymour was suggested and we searched for a place with good reviews. Lola's had the best record, so on we drove. The outside gave us pause. We decided to turn around upon seeing the industrial location with skeleton 'decor', but as we turned the car around we saw the back side of the sign. It said something like 'ignore the appearance, judge us on our food.' Soooo, we parked the car. Even worse than the freaky decor, the parking lot smelled AWFUL! A huge stench filled the air. AHA! I told my friends not to worry, because I figured we must have happened upon a restaurant my son had raved about not too long ago. A co-worker had taken him there for lunch and I remember him saying that it looked bad, smelled atrocious, but inside was sparkling and odor-free (except for good food aromas).. Even better, he'd said the food was great. Sooo...we went inside, and were quickly greeted and seated by a smiling waitress. The menu was heavy on burgers and Mexican, but had a child's menu, starters, salads and some good sounding sandwiches as well as desserts. My partner and I opted to share a pork tenderloin sandwich with a side of fries. Our friends had beef tacos and buffalo chicken tacos with sides of various chips and aioli mayo). The Buffalo chicken tacos were the clear winner according to one of them. I couldn't eat all of the pork tenderloin (half) on my plate; I should have done what my partner did - he set the bun aside and concentrated on the tenderloin. Good plan! That tenderloin was the best I've had. So tender, your toothless great grandpa could probably handle it easily. Yum! In addition, the service was excellent / a perfect counterpoint to the place we'd departed not a half an hour earlier. Just what we needed to restore our faith in dining out! Our friendly, sweet and helpful waitress got a generous tip. I highly recommend Lola's Modern Kitchen.

We stopped last night for dinner. After being seated and provided with chips and a couple of salsas we were greeted by our server, Luis. Luis took our drink order, a Palermo and a Margarita and left us to study the extensive menu. Drinks were promptly provided and Luis to our our order. My wife ordered the Monica's Plate, a delicious dish of rice served with tender strips of chicken and large grilled shrimp in a queso sauce. I ordered Shrimp a la Mexicana, a delightful mix of grilled shrimp with grilled jalapeños, onions and tomatoes. All grilled to perfection and served with rice, salad, guacamole and pico de gallo. Both meals were well more than either of us could finish, but we were traveling through sadly left the remains. (We both did finish all of the shrimp). Throughout out meal, Luis continued to stop back at our table checking on us and refilling our glasses. In all another wonderful meal at El Nopal in Seymour.

From the moment we were seated, our server seemed rude and acted like he didn't really care that we were there. I tried to overlook it because I came for the food. After we received our meals, he checked on us only once. About halfway through my meal, I wanted to order another margarita. I waited around five minutes but couldn't find our server. When I finally saw him, I tried to get his attention, but before I could even ask for anything, he interrupted me and said, "No, in a minute," then walked away. Instead of coming back to our table, he immediately went to the table behind us and then disappeared again without acknowledging us. After waiting another 10 minutes, I had enough. We asked for boxes, packed up our food, and left. Because of the poor service, I left a $10 tip. Unfortunately, the experience didn't end there. My son accidentally left one of his shoes, so I went back inside to get it. As I walked in, I overheard our server telling the busser, "She only left $10. I told you." The moment he noticed I had heard him, he immediately stopped talking and walked away. That was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. The only reason I left a $10 tip was because of the poor service we received. I've visited this restaurant many times and have always had excellent service, which is why this experience was so surprising. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that other guests don't have a similar experience.
