Taco Bell has always been a godsend for me. Whenever I am feeling down, I feel comforted knowing that I can get some loaded nachos and take a nice nap afterwards. My first time getting Taco Bell in the Bay Area was takeout from this Berryessa location for a nice Saturday lunch with my family. We were able to order online ahead of time, which made ordering for 7 people very easy. It also showed a progress bar as your food was being prepared so you could monitor its progress. The convenience is great! We were also able to get plenty of diablo sauce packets. I ordered my go-to loaded beef nachos. I would definitely recommend them or the Crunchwrap Supreme. They didn't have nacho fries, so on the side I got chips and guac with extra nacho cheese. I was very happy after this meal. I grew up in the bay area for more than 30 years. When I was young i used to go to Taco bell to get a number 3 which is Supreme burrito and a Crunchy taco. Back then the portion was nice and it was tasty. Been a long time since I had Taco Bell so I decided to come here today to get my usual number 3. OMG how things have changed so much. The Burrito was half of the size back then. Barely any beef in it. The Taco also nothing other than vegetables . I know everything has gone up in price but at least keep the portion the same. Honestly, Taco Bell hits the spot sometimes, when you're craving some Mexican-inspired food LOL. I've been trying more things on the menu, I used to only order the Nachos Supreme. During quarantine, I've been eating a lot of Crunch Wraps with steak, and my NEW favorite item: the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. You gotta be extra and order it with steak, it's life-changing. The crunchy outer shell is thick and crispy, covered in a whole layer of cheese. It doesn't ever get soggy with all the toppings and hot sauce drenched on top. It is literally my and my boyfriend's new favorite thing on the menu LOL. The reason for my 3-star review is because of the Taco Bell app. The user interface is pretty simple and straightforward, but the functionality is kind of a disaster. It's really challenging to substitute or modify items, like if you want steak vs. beef; you gotta re-add it a couple of times to make sure it's right. Not only has pricing gone up due to inflation, but quality has suffered as well. At times there's a language barrier with the elder Indian lady (she's been there forever it seems like). They are very skimpy on their meat. I usually order crunchy tacos as part of my meal and there is 5 times more lettuce than ground beef. Also, sometimes I order the quesadillas and the new packaging is not very convenient. Often times the melted cheese gets stuck to the packaging and it creates a mess when you're trying to pull a section to eat. They also charge extra for a side of sour cream (used to come with the meal for free). Only positive I have right now, is that it stays open later than most places. I think their drive-thru is open till 1am. The Taco Bell at the Alum Rock / Capitol location has better quality. read more

Went to this taco bell with a group of 3 at 4:30 pm. The service was expected so it took about 10 mins to get the food. We got a luxe box, nacho fries, Doritos tacos meal, cheesey potatoes, and a chicken flatbread melt. The food was fine, but not the best: The fries were a bit soggy and could have had more seasoning, the flatbread melt was rolled weirdly, and the tomatoes tasted a bit off. One complaint is that there are no napkins available for self service. As for the ambiance, the vibes are pretty chill. As the weather has been so rainy recently, we decided to swing by Taco Bell to pick up some food to go. Between 1-2pm, there wasn't a crowd at all. We were able to park right in front of the restaurant. When we walked in, nobody was at the registers and we decided to order at the self check out kiosks. That is were all our problems started. Starting on the left kiosk, we were able to see the items and flip between different menus, but selecting any item didn't work as they were all grayed out. At the top of the screen we tried clicking on different sections and see more of the menu options. The same issue continued to happen where we couldn't add any item to our order. So we thought it was just and issue with the first kiosk. Then we moved to the right which was the second kiosk. When we clicked on the individual items, it had the same issues where you couldn't add them to the order. During the whole time, nobody came to the front registers. So we kept on trying the kiosks and finally saw a reboot. We can't tell if it was a glitch or somebody from the back rebooted the system. Anyways, we continued our ordering and finally selected all the items and tried to check out. I was able to tap my credit card, but it was stuck on the sending you a receipt page for a very long time. I had to click on the screen to keep it active because it asked me if I wanted to continue multiple times. The screen was just a spinning circle in the middle like it was trying to process. After I turned my back to the opposite side, the person at the pick up window said my order was ready. I let them know the kiosk is still stuck processing my order and receipt. She then said let me take care of that and printed out a receipt. We gladly took our bag of food and verified all the items before leaving. Overall, there were no employees working at the front, the kiosks didn't work well in the ordering process and the payment process, and cost of the meal has gone way up. read more

I was, however, going to give this location only 3 stars cause it's got NO drive-thru but their new healthy FRESCO menu bumped it back up again. You can get the same terrifically unhealthy treats you used to eat fresco-style now and take away tons and tons of the fat and calories. That seems to work well for my new health kick so when I need quick eats, I know I can safely stop into Taco Bell. How's that for crazy?!
