We made a quick trip to Saginaw on Tuesday and decided to try it out on our way home. What a delightful surprise! Service was very good and the food was delicious. I had a chicken pot pie and my husband had grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and carrots. Too bad that this place is not more convenient for us to visit more often!

Another customer came in and placed an order 10 minutes after me. He sat down as I was waiting for my order another customer came in and picked up his takeout and left about 20 minutes after they called out an order and I thought it was mine and I went to the counter she said it was the other customers ( the one that placed his order ten minutes after me) so I sat back down and waited. it was about 45 minutes after I placed my order a young man who was setting tables up in the dinning area with other family members approached me and asked what I ordered I told him, he went behind the counter where no one was only the cooks in the back. he asked them and they said we don't have any order for taco baskets. I could see a bag on the counter below the shelf with the heat lamps. I asked the young kid, he said no that's not it without looking. then the woman who took my order came out from the office and grabbed the bag and bought it to the pay counter, the boy asked what hot sauce I wanted as I was checking to make sure it was what I ordered, it was then I felt the tacos and they were as cold as if they came out of the fridge. So my order has been setting on that back counter till it got cold while I could have been waiting for even more if I wasn't asked. For not being busy to forget about a customers order shows how incompetent this business is I would not want to dine in if they were busy and what they may forget then. There was no excuse for it. I told them the food is cold and that they were a f-n joke and left. I will never recomend Maria's to anyone. You know the old saying bad business travels farther and faster then good business and it will, I will make sure of it.

This restaurant is attached to what is clearly a dying mall, and that may be part of the issue they're having in terms of retaining staff and maintaining foot traffic. The staff I interacted with were generally friendly, but also quite busy and trying to keep up with the various tables. The seating options were a little uncomfortable, but serviceable overall. Given the volume of business they were having at the time this wasn't a huge deal. The food was a mixed bag. The chips were decent but a little greasy. My chicken was well prepared and had a delicious cheese sauce on it. The rice and beans were quite regrettable unfortunately. The beans were overcooked and too pasty, the rice had no real flavor to it. It really is a shame, I was looking forward to trying this place.

After doing some scouring, I found Coco Loco and decided to give it a whirl. Pulling up, the place looks a bit tired from the outside. Walking in the place wasn't busy but there was enough diners here that I was like okay it can't be that bad. I reviewed the menu and they do have tons of good options but tend to be on the pricier side of things. I ended up getting the Petito dinner which sounded right up my alley. It was 3 tacos that were deep fried, rice, beans and extra toppings. I guess you have a few choices of what to get in the tacos, and I went with shredded beef because its my favorite. When the food came out, I was extremely impressed with the portion size as it was absolutely massive! I couldn't even finish it because it was just so much food. The refried beans were awesome and the rice was pretty good to. I wish I would have taken a photo but I was so hungry that I didn't even think about it. The interior here is super colorful and my server was pretty good at her job. I did have to ask for extra napkins, but I always do so that's no big deal. I did ask for a bit of extra sour cream and they charged me for it?! at this point I was already $20 in the hole, so what's an extra dollar or whatever the charge was.
