My experience might vary incredibly compared to yours as I was one of the first customers at lunch time when they started taking orders. I waited a little over two hours for my food but I have to say it was worth it on my part. The kitchen and business is operated out of a small covered trailer and a fenced in area where food is refrigerated and/or prepared to be taken into the kitchen. The parking is spacious in a gravel lot that covers the expanse of the property. Picnic tables are present around the business and are covered by awnings to provide shade. There is a fire pit and lawn chairs surrounding it as well. For the children, there is a new, wooden play set with slides and swings, a very large "Connect-Four" game, and wooden blocks for "Jenga". As for the food, it was some of the best Mexican/Tex-Mex food to ever come out of a road-side eatery in poor Mississippi. The Birria was so flavorful and tender, it took me back to South-Central Texas. Abuela would be proud of the ladies cooking over the stoves in this tiny trailer. Besides the Birria, street tacos, and legitimately fresh Guacamole, what caught and held my attention was the salsa served by the chips. This is real, handmade salsa. This is fresh tomato, onion, and cilantro. I will choose this establishment over any other in the area. Let's talk about opening day and the service. This is a brand new establishment, in every sense of the phrase. They were backed up with orders that piled in from people that were hungry to try out something new and different in a part of the USA that hardly, if ever, changes. I managed to get my families' order in before they started turning people away temporarily until they could put a dent in the orders. Yes, I waited over two hours. Not many people would, I can verify that statement. But it was so worth it. To their credit, the owner and his team gave us free chips, salsa, queso, and drinks to make it up to us. I would have continued happily sitting in the breezy, shade sans free goodies for this meal. I recommend trying this spot out. Perhaps by the time you go, they'll have come into their own and have a more stream-lined way of getting food out the window. Be patient, and kind with them. Go support a local business worth your time.

We were greeted promptly and seated right away. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and even let me practice my Spanish, which made the experience even better. It has a warm family vibe. We started with the Fried Yucca (pronounced YOO‑kah), lightly fried and served with a slightly sweet dipping sauce. Absolutely outstanding -- 10/10. The Chorizo Dip was another hit: cheesy, hot, and just a touch spicy. 9/10. For entrées, we ordered the Monarca's Cazuelita, a crock-style dish loaded with steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, pineapple, cheese, and bell pepper. Everything was well‑seasoned with fantastic flavor. 10/10. The Chicken Burrito was also excellent -- another 10/10. I'm very critical when reviewing restaurants, especially Mexican food, but this is genuinely the best I've had on this side of the border. The flavors were bold, the portions generous, and the service top‑notch. It was so good we ended up getting takeout the very next day. Monarca absolutely lives up to the hype.

I ordered the fajitas and was disappointed cause there was barely any steak. The cheese dip, however, was really good. The atmosphere was decent, and the place was busy, which is usually a good sign. We did run into a bit of a language barrier when trying to order something specific and ended up with a dish that wasn't what we wanted. That said, the staff were all very kind and the hostess was especially sweet. Would I come back? Maybe! I might give it another chance and try something different next time
