Comfort Food Plus Plus…read more - - - - - - - - August, 2026 Visit We went on a road trip, from Missouri to Michigan, for a family event, and on Friday night we joined countless others in attending the outdoors concert in downtown Midland, MI. Our daughter and I returned to the car for a phone battery and saw Proper Taco and immediately went inside. Proper taco looks to be able to support, seemingly, any dietary concern... if it isn't already noted on their menu, I recommend just asking about your needs. There are almost too many tasty items on the menu; after a few minutes, she ordered tacos and I ordered Merv nachos for my wonderful wife and me. While we waited we laughed at the many magnets and other items with humorous quotes on them. We enjoyed this great food back in our seats, at the concert. I can speak to the fact that the Merv tacos are quite nice - great chips with so many flavors on top. Fantastic staff. Fantastic food, leading to my Plus Plus (++) award! Thank you, Proper Taco! We look to return on our next visit.

Place was crowded, small and I was ignored for 20 minutes while they stared right in my face and didn't help. Had a to go order that was soggy and cold by the time I got to eat it. Didn't even get a "spicy" taco and it looked like a diaper and was inedible because of the spice level. Worst tacos ive ever had -sincerely someone of culture who can handle their spice

Craving tamales ordered the 3 tamale plate with beef. I was surprised by the amount the meat and cheese layered on top and not rolled inside the tamal. Plenty of food for two to split as an entrees. Small portion Refried pinto beans and Mexican Rice as expected kinda bland and not very warm at all upon arriving at the table. With only one other person in the restaurant and ordering only one entrees I expected faster service and hot food. The plate was the warmest part of the meal. Lots of soda options, but they do not serve alcohol (plenty options downtown Midland nearby to enjoy a drink).

She ran and got someone to translate. So I actually didn't order what I wanted because I knew she wouldn't be able to understand what I was saying. That's my fault ! My friend got the super large burrito and it was the size of a Taco Bell bean burrito and had no side dishes with it so I thought that was kind of expensive and he didn't like the food anyways. I got one of the vegetarian options and the bean burrito was like a small burrito I'd make at home with a can of refried beans. It also had a cheese enchilada that was like something I would make at home too. When we sat down and got the chips and salsa, I asked if they had a hot salsa also. The waitress went and got someone to translate who then ran and brought me a saucer full of hotter salsa that was good, but I wasn't told that it would be an extra $5 and didn't realize it until the bill came. Like I said, I won't be going back here again!!

By time I got there, it was extremely packed inside and looked like everyone was having a good time. I had three different waitress go back in the kitchen to let the staff know I was there. The food was brought out to me in a minute or so and I paid and was on my way. Only thing I wasn't asked about salsa or sour cream. I had assumed it came with it, since I wasn't asked. But that was my fault for not checking. Got back to the office and everyone loved the tacos. I will definitely be going back to try something else soon!

DON'T GO HERE FOR FOOD!!! Legit some of the worst flavorless tacos and birria I have come across…read moreyet in my 34 years of life. We bought 2 taco meals with 3 tacos each, we sent back 5 tacos and all the beans and cold rice with it. Wife got carne asada taco meal. The carne asada was so over cooked, dry and near flavorless and was legit impossible to swallow just a piece of the meat without a drink. I got the birria tacos, and I think that they think spicy by itself is a flavor. I've never seen so much cheese and a minuscule amount of meat on birria tacos in my life. All I could taste in the consome was spice, no other flavor. The taco, I could taste spicy cheese and corn tortilla, when I opened the taco up there was legit almost 0 meat with just tiny strands visible. When we brought our complaints of the food to the manager or whoever she was, she seemed to think that I didn't want my birria because it was spicy, no, I love spicy food, if it also has flavor. This ain't Mexican food by a a Mexican who can cook. Taco bell has forever won against this place, and taco bell is shit to say it nicely. Overall, yup, taste of midland is a legit name for this flavorless overcooked dry ass tacos and flavorless yet spicy birria. It fits the theme mildand has going of the absolute worst food in Michigan. I have never in my life been served carne asada so damn dry in my life. We left this place 0 leftovers and went to Bay city for GOOD food, where we took leftovers home. They had good margaritas though.

Staff were very friendly and there was no line and service quick. I tried the corona (Spanish for crown): this is a bowl of sorts with vetting in it. Sauceless, Strawless, Soulless - A Taco Bell Tragedy…read more For the second week in a row, I paid a premium to have Taco Bell's famously gourmet cuisine delivered straight to my door--only to be greeted by a sad, sauce-less sack of disappointment. Not a single packet of sauce. No napkins. No straws. Just dry tacos and crushed dreams. Who hurt you, Taco Bell? I don't know if there's a nationwide hot sauce shortage or if someone at this location is building a personal sauce empire in their garage, but whatever the reason--it's getting weird. Are the sauces locked in a vault? Is handing out napkins now considered a felony? Do straws cost extra because I missed the upcharge? I don't expect much from Taco Bell, but the one thing that keeps it edible is the sauce. Otherwise, I could just chew on cardboard and skip the calories. The sad part is I asked for the sauces. I checked the boxes. I begged politely through the app. Still nothing. Just depressing vibes and sadness. Be better.
