I'll give credit where it's due--the carne asada was actually seasoned pretty well. Unfortunately, the burrito just wasn't it for me. It needed a lot more flavor, and overall the food didn't live up to the hype. To be fair, I've been spoiled by authentic Mexican food, so my standards might be a little high. That said, the service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a cozy, homey atmosphere. I just wish the food had matched the experience.

There is no indoor seating at this express location and it is a very bare bones & simplistic vibe to this old fast food spot. We sat in the patio area on picnic tables to eat, but there's also a seemingly efficient drive thru for picking up grub. We ordered a carne asada taco plate (with rice and beans) and a carne asada chimichanga plate with rice and beans, and chips and cheese dip. Everything was fresh and tasty, but the tacos and carne asada in general were the stars. That was well-seasoned and crispy steak. Holy moly. The tortillas were clearly homemade and so soft and delish without easily falling apart. Can't wait to go back for more tacos. The beans were stellar but we could take or leave the rice.

It's a simple, off the menu order, and I ask them to repeat it back to me, but they always get something wrong. Usually I check it at the window and they can correct it, but I recently waited nearly 30 mins at the drive through line only to discover that they missed an entire taco plate. I asked how long it would take for them to correct it, and they said 15 mins. I didn't have another 15 mins to spare, so I left without it. Additionally, I discovered when I got home that the other taco plate had two orders of beans and no rice. It is a frustrating enough experience that I've decided not to come back for a while.
