You can tell this isn't just a business--it's something they're genuinely passionate about. The food absolutely lived up to the hospitality. We shared the ribs, burnt ends, and a brisket sandwich, along with the baked beans, potato salad, and cornbread muffins. Everything was excellent. The burnt ends were rich and flavorful, the ribs were tender with just the right bite, and the brisket was smoky and delicious. The sides were every bit as good as the bbq, and those muffins disappeared quickly. Walking around and seeing the wood stacks, smokers, and attention to every detail only reinforced what we had already tasted: this is bbq made with care. If you're anywhere near Slade or visiting Red River Gorge, do yourself a favor and stop here. Great food is easy to find every now and then. Great people serving great food is something you remember.
