We didn't get to eat dinner tonight due to the sports schedule,, so we came in late after my son's soccer practice. The restaurant was sparkling clean and full of friendly staff even late at night. The music was chilled, and everybody seemed to be vibing. The new Live Mas café was cool and we tried some of the drinks. The girl working the café also gave us samples. Our food was perfect, exactly as ordered and then some. Tacos are art, and you can tell when there's an artist making your food and there's just someone waiting to clock out. Ever since they upgraded this location to a Live Más Café the food has been so good. I like that you can get a vegan option that is filling with fresh produce on it! I do the black bean power bowl, extra lettuce, no cheese, no sour cream, no avocado ranch, add jalapeños and Mexican pizza sauce. They never mess it up! I swear all the workers are high or never heard of coffee. We've been there 3 times. (I know we always forget which Taco Bell we say we shouldn't go to). We pre order online and go to get it. The first two times was drive-thru and they didn't make the food until we showed up. Asking us to wait in a parking spot. And then missed half of it BOTH TIMES. So one of us had to walk in and ask for the rest of our food and wait longer. With rude remarks from some guy that we see every time we go. And the green sauce that costs 20¢ a piece, we always order 10. And they ALWAYS forget it. And any other sauces. This time I did an in store pickup since I figured most ppl would do drive thru due to the rain. My husband goes in and it's sitting behind the counter, taped up and ready. He asks about it and said who he was picking up for. The SAME dude says they're out of my drink and so he told them my backup. He gets them. I scheduled an interview with the short, fluffy Hispanic manager over the phone for 2PM a week prior. We discussed that he WAS in fact hiring and would be in need of full-time employees and everything sounded promising but of course I get to the interview 30 minutes beforehand and something tells me he didn't expect me or probably didn't remember he had an interview scheduled that day. This ignoramus basically told me the complete opposite of everything he said on the phone. He says that business slowed down due to the construction in the area and majority of the employees there were getting less hours and he couldn't take any more employees because of budgeting and all that. Now why didn't you just say that over the phone instead of having me waste gas and time coming up there if that was the case? The gentleman who took my order through the talk box was super nice and he had a great sense of humor. Had me cracking up the whole time. Coffee is made from a small coffee sachet each time. Free refills and better tasting than McDonald's. Tried most of their $1 value menu today. The grilled flatbread quesadilla is the same as the breakfast soft taco, but grilled. And the grilled breakfast burrito is just a different shaped version of the grilled flatbread quesadilla. Also had two items not on the value menu, these being the grande scrambler (grilled burrito) and the breakfast Crunchwrap. Crunchwrap was better as I don't really care for the potatoes in the scrambler. Hash browns were like I like them. Crispy. And again, better than McDonald's. Free WiFi. Dewayne is right--a lot of young kids work in this location ( almost said whipper snappers but that would really show my age lol). However, they're polite and patient. Only problem I had was the food. I went during happy hour to taste one of the grillers that are heavily advertised. I tried the nacho beef griller, which was limp upon picking it up. Why? I barely like Taco Bell as it it I typically go to pollo loco instead but this location is the worst one I've been to in regards to service and taste of the food. The only thing I'd get from here doesn't involve messy so i typically get the triple layer nacho. I was told the triple layer nacho was discontinued and I could just order chips and cheese when I asked for beans just to be added I was told that they couldn't do that. When they clearly have multiple nachos on the menu with beans on the chips. The food is consistent with typical Taco Bell food and the staff is generally pretty friendly. However, the person working the drive through seems to be running a credit card stealing scam. I visited the restaurant one afternoon and used a card I don't typically use and hadn't used in sometime. So without any actual proof, I can only speculate that the young gentleman working the drive thru that afternoon copied my credit card information to be used later. A few hours after visiting the establishment, I received a pending charge notification on my phone for over $500 from somewhere in South Carolina. I called to speak to the manager and inform them that they may have a credit card thief working there, she was no help at all. Her response was "what do you want me to do about that?" I simply responded "maybe just keep an eye on this individual, or maybe ask them to stop doing it." I won't stop going to the restaurant due to some dishonest person. However, I will keep a close eye on my cards or just pay cash when I visit this place. Simply shameful, but by today's standards, I'm not surprised. read more
