(Forrest Park is a great park for the kiddos to burn Energy!) We were very skeptical about eating at a Mexican restaurant in the middle of Indiana, but we were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I ordered and shared the steak fajitas and they were delicious and the perfect amount (there is an option to order a double size, we just weren't starving). Prices are very reasonable too! Can't beat getting a beer for $3.50! On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have a margarita special.. the whole staff were very attentive and food came out fairly quickly! The space is beautifully decorated with a "Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)" theme. All the tables and booths had painting on them.

I will be honest I was not expecting good Mexican food in the area. This place is probably one of the better options in town. The salsa was okay - (not authentic-too sweet). I was happy that they offered fresh authentic salsa upon request. My authentic Mexican food recommendation from this place are the tacos (lengua) and the Pollo Ixtapa dish (chicken and sea food- has onions).

I was really craving Mexican food, and I decided to try a new spot. The food sounded good, and I liked the description of the nachos, so I ordered them and decided to add on a side of Mexican street corn. It was ok. First off, the corn was very overcooked. Small kernels. Very juicy, but not in a good wat. I took about 2 spoonfuls and pretty much tossed the rest. The nachos were not very good. I know this was a delivery and I have to make concessions for some saturation making the chips not as crunchy, but even the chips they gave me on the side were very thin and oily and would never hold up in a nacho setting. The meat (carnitas) was very dry and stringy. The guacamole lacked seasoning as did the rice and beans. And, the salsa had a pulled-from-the-refrigerator flavor. I maybe ate a third of the nachos and then tossed those out as well. I did not eat any of the chips and salsa after the initial taste. I was really bummed as I had hoped for a good meal, but I won't be trying this restaurant again and will try others next time I am in town.
