But this was my daughter's choice, it's near her home & there were 8 of us on a Tues night in Aug. And we were the only ones wearing masks. Okay, I know I'm spoiled - I live in North Dallas and there are restaurants on every corner so competition is cut-throat. My daughter has been telling me for years - Mom, you have to switch to island mentality when you visit! Uh, okay, I can, but when I walk into a place & there are 5 young men behind the counter and a line of people, I couldn't understand why we waited 15 minutes before placing our order! The 'boys' were: sweeping, cleaning, 2 were play-fighting - which left ONE to make our food!! I wanted to pull out my diva card & slap them into shape as the line grew out the door & we didn't budge, but I didn't want to embarrass my daughter. Seriously - we entered at 7:15 and I paid for mine at 7:40. No, that should never happen when there are that many workers there, the food is cooked & all they have to do is serve it. Where was the manager?? What I really want to know is - where the HECK WAS THE MANAGER? And why is someone sweeping in that small space while they're making food? And playing around while food is sitting there exposed... Okay so I got past that. The only young man working to try to move the line of people was polite and quick. I ordered a cup of queso $4, which I have to admit was YUMMY. I had one chicken taco $4 - the shell was crunchy but didn't fall apart on me and was packed with lettuce, since I didn't really want much of anything else after seeing the tubs. I also ordered a chicken salad with black olives $10, even though they have everything to add to it. I didn't eat much of it but it was okay. The cashier (the only female there) was friendly but I wonder why she didn't do anything to help move the line along, rather just watched the boys messing around... anyway, moving on... The salsa bar had lots of options - loved it and the area was clean. I'm just more of a white tablecloth type of gal, this place might have scored okay if the service had been quicker - I hate waiting in lines! I may just try it again when I go back next week - see if any positive changes have been made.

Our dining experience was on par with what we have experienced at other Five Guys locations.

Ironically, the cook, smashed all the juice out of the burger, leaving it try. Then he piles all the condiments in the middle of the sandwich, patties off the side of the bun, tons of lettuce! A double smashed cheeseburger with everything, small fry and a Diet Coke came to over $23 bucks! My husband and I split this meal as the portion size could easily feed two. The staff was humming when we walked in, everyone was busy taking and preparing orders. It seemed like a pretty well oiled machine considering this location just opened. No question, Five Guys knows how to do burgers and fries. The meat was juicy and the toppings were incredibly fresh tasting. It was a big and messy undertaking to take a bite but worth it. The fresh cut russets are always good but this time they were exceptional - Beautifully browned, crispy and full of potato flavor. No doubt quality ingredients but the prices... hmmm a bit hard to swallow.

We have favorites at Long horn so we knew exactly what we wanted. The southwest egg rolls for our appetizer is always necessary. My daughter order chicken tenders with Parmesan on top along with Mac and cheese and a loaded potato. I ordered the Parmesan chicken breast with Brussels and a sweet potato. Our food came out fast and hot with no one complaint. Our server was very attentive but also allowed us to enjoy our meal and catch up. This was so pleasant. I was able to pay my tab and tip by scanning the QR code on my receipt which I loved. Parking was plentiful; the staff is so friendly and the food is amazing! Felt like home away from home.
