The previous reviews have to be totally FAKE. There is no way this place is anywhere near 4 stars. How does anyone rate a restaurant at 3 or 4 stars when they have plastic utensils? I looked at the 4 stars and trusted other yelpers and what a mistake that was. Fortunately I did find others who agree with me but it was too late. If you gave this place anything above 3 stars then stop yelping. Establishment =1. Staff = 0. Ordering process = 1. Food presentation = -1. Food = 2. This place is really bad and regret not taking pictures of food to help make my point. OMG... Shredded beef tacos and the best tamales in Pinellas County. I loved this place and the food was awesome.

Pricey. Hostess was also the cashier and server. She was very polite. Food was acceptable but again seemed overpriced. 8/16 tried again. Not good. The cashier was again the server and the cook too I think. The carne asada tacos were not good at 8.99 for 2 tacos and some tortilla chips. Meat tough, under seasoned, and improperly cut. If you like this place I suggest you eat there often and soon because I don't see them lasting much longer. read more

After a couple of weeks of driving past the place because I couldn't find a driveway in I finally figured it out! You turn in way before the building and there's no sign beforehand. Hard to find yet I was greeted by a friendly employee. I ordered two chicken tacos which were 3.00 each. The sauce bar was not impressive. The tacos were pretty good. They do need more flavor and more sauce choices. Inside there's some tables, small place, though. The tables are so close together I would feel uncomfortable bringing my kids in bc they would be right on another party. If you're kid free it's good to eat in, if not it's good to order out. My favorite restaurant! The girls that work here are so sweet and helpful, and they remember their regulars. The food is delicious, pastor street tacos on their homemade corn tortillas are my go-to. Elotes are some of the best I've ever had! So far everything we've tried has been amazing, though their salsa used to be better before Covid. Now it's a super spicy sauce that's too hot for me and this is coming from a guy who loves and grows habaneros and ghost peppers. Until they change their salsa back that's the only thing I'd recommend avoiding. Otherwise this place is truly a gem! read more

Really enjoyed Taco Bar. This was my first time there. I got 2 tacos and street corn. The street corn was delicious! I never had street corn that was on the cob before. The tacos are pretty basic, just topped with onions and cilantro. However, they do a have a hot sauce bar with 4 different sauces and a good variety of meats to choose from. I got a steak taco and marinated pork taco. The marinated pork taco was my favorite. Good prices too....got lunch for less then $9. read more

Very impressed by Taco Bar! I randomly stopped here for take out and was not disappointed! I got the ranchero burrito with pastor as the meat. It was amazing! Super fresh and the pastor is marinated with pineapples and peppers. My friend got two chicken tacos, chips and queso, and the Mexican street corn. Everything exceeded expectations. Excellent Taco spot! I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. The place is located in a small plaza. there is sufficient parking. This is as authentic as you can get when it comes to tacos. I had the Campechano tacos and my significant other had the chicken tostadas as well as the pastor tostadas. All were great! The steak and chorizo in the campechano were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The chicken in the tostados was tender and seasoned well. The pastor tostadas were excellent! I visited Taco Bar for the first time this past Monday after driving past it for a few weeks now. I ordered a steak burrito bowl and was told Monday was bogo for burritos! Hurray! Now, I had a well sized, delicious, plate of hot food and would gladly have paid the very reasonable price for one but was overjoyed when given a second one- in which I went with pork. Both were fresh, tasty, and packaged up to go quickly. I will gladly be a repeat customer. Claudia was the young lady who helped me at the front and she could not have been sweeter or more polite. If you want authentic tamales and true Mexican food this is the place. I need to eat there more. It's just so dang good. You can absolutely tell they care about flavor. I can't find tamales anywhere except here and even if I could find a place I'd still eat here. The tacos are simple yet full of flavor and taste clean and delicious. This used to be one of our favorite places. Today Was our first visit in about 6 months and we were saddened to see see the quality has gone way down. Chips were cold and very oily. Quesso serving was half the size it used to be and as was thin as water. Pork carnitas that used to be lean and tender is now fried and consists of big of chunks of fat and over cooked pork. The inside was a modern twist on the typical Mexican theme and the staff was friendly and helpful with any and all questions we had. We decided to order chips and queso, shrimp tacos and the campechano/steak and chorizo tacos. They provided a generous serving of chips and queso perfect for two! We were a little wary on the portion sizes, I got two tacos and my partner got 4 but it was the perfect portion and very filling. The tacos were overflowing, in the best way possible, with fillings and tomatoes, onion and cilantro. Would highly recommend taco bar over your typical run o the mill Mexican restaurant. read more
