This is a touristy area, but from what I could tell, there were a good amount of locals and regulars. Which tells me, this spot is worth a visit if you are in Clearwater FL. I had a great meal here. Well, this could have been a great experience. Visiting from out of town decided to grab tacos before hitting the beach. When i took this picture initially i was just documenting my order. Upon taking the first bite i noticed a splatter of blood in the top left corner of the plate. I told the server & she explained that the cook had cut herself doing something. I understand things happen but for me to still be charged for this, is insane. She gave me a free bottle of water for the inconvenience, thats just unacceptable. I was visiting Clearwater with friends and found this place on Yelp. We went on a Friday before Labor Day and was expecting it to be packed. Loved it here! Cannot wait to return. Six of us sat at the bar and were served by Puma and Daniela, both awesome! This little gem is tucked away in the corner of a shopping strip and we stopped in randomly for some rum. Ironically, there isn't that much rum. Plenty of tequila though! All the food was very good and served quickly. The pork was really good. The drinks were reasonable but don't go looking for an IPA. The modela was lovely though. It's not fancy and I wouldn't go looking for rum flights. What it is, is authentic food, good drinks and food and really fun staff. Clear Sky is wildly popular and generally regarded as a must-try in Clearwater Beach, but having been there and here, I am telling you, this place is 1000% better!! We visited twice it was so good. The food came out pretty quick though. I also ordered some guacamole which had fresh avocado but there was no seasoning?? I was kinda confused. Chips were also stale. I am giving 3 stars which is somewhat generous. Perhaps my problem were expectations. Their menu online clearly states there is cafe de olla and breakfast. We arrive and there is neither, I was told that I could go to the cigar shop next door if I wanted coffee and bring it back. Pros: the chips were good (but you have to pay for them, you do not get chips and salsa). Ceviche is served with tostadas, which is how I prefer it. Cons: guac had to be salted The ceviche was gross. They just throw in whole shrimp, the octopus was not diced (so when you take a bite, you're chewing for 10 minutes), we couldn't identify the fish and it looked unsavory. To be honest, we're nervous we were going to be sick because it didn't seem fresh. The music is too loud for such a small place. Not a good experience and I'm not going out of my way to go to the beach if the food isn't good. read more
