After a long day of being on the road for a tour, we wanted something quick and simple. While Spain is pretty far from Mexico and in Arizona, we know good Mexican food, the neon "Mexican Food" sign on the side of this place piqued our curiosity. It is nothing special inside and reminds me of a hole-in-the wall taco joint in a small town in AZ. I ordered a beer and two tacos and sat down to wait. The food arrived pretty quickly and it was surprisingly good. I had the Pirate and Pibil tacos. (note that these are "street taco" size and not "American size") I have no complaints about it: the price was reasonable, it was served quickly and it had great flavor. read more

Fantastic, fast tacos. I got... Pibil: Slow roasted pork marinated in achiote, topped with red onion Tinga: Chicken in a tomato and chipotle sauce, topped with lettuce Pirata: Seared fillet steak with melted cheese, topped with avocado Pastor: Marinated pork topped with onion, coriander, and pineapple Of these, Pirata was the standout. That melted cheese mixed with the steak sooooo well. The Pibil was also amazing. Pastor was a little weird because the pineapple was pretty hard. With the tacos costing 2.50€ or less, you can eat very well for very little money. If you want to blast your tacos with some salsa, they have 5 different flavors with escalating spice profiles. Nice touch. Taco Alto is very, very casual. It's the kind of place you go to grab a quick bite and keep moving. But if I were in the area and had a desire for a fast taco, I'd drop in again to try more flavors! read more

Amazing late night tacos. Great spot to get your taco fix with a wide variety of salsas to add (5 of them and my favorite was the spicy to give it a great kick). The guacamole they give is gigantic! They definitely don't skimp on the ingredients. read more

First of all, love him. Him being the Mister behind the counter that loved bob dylan or just knew who he was lol. Me and my posse (love u guys) were in Barcelona a few weeks ago and day after day would go to this place right before they closed and they would still serve us with smiles even though they were probably hating us on the inside. And out just kidding!!! They were so sweet and all of the tacos (and I mean all of them we went day after day) were brilliant and beautiful and tasted soooooo good. Especially the little cauliflower one with the warm tortilla. And the nachos. VEGAN OF COURSE. Just kidding whateva u want. What I miss most is Well you'll just have to go and find out. This is a cute little taco shop located in a touristy part of Barcelona. The employees were very friendly and welcoming to their guests. The place was clean and well kept. I liked that they had illustrations on the wall to represent each style of taco that they sold. My favorite was the pirata - steak with avocado and cheese. Very flavorful and tasty for a reasonable price! They were also super fast with our order. Would go here again if I find myself in this part of Barcelona in the future. read more

Nice little taco shop in Barcelona. We had luckily missed the line extending out the door. The Safari taco was my favorite by far. I like the fact that all the hot sauces are labeled 1-5 in terms of heat, you're not having to guess. If you're into tacos check it out. read more

Best tacos in SPAIN!! AND THE WORLD probably BETTER THAN MEXICO. I've never had authentic tacos from Mexico so that's a reach but these babies are on another level. Amazing tacos!! Ordered 4 off the menu and was super pleased with all of them. Favorites were Pastor- the pork with pineapple. SOO GOOD. And the safari- grilled chicken with bell pepper and sweet onion. They have a variety of hot sauces and really good prices. I wish this wasn't my last evening in Spain so that I could come back again and try the other items on the menu. read more

Good tacos. Kids liked them as well, although the cheese is a little more gourmet than they are used to. However, from an adult standpoint they tasted pretty good. I would also definitely recommend the Baja. Beware though that seating is a bit limited during busy times. read more

Legit flavors on hipster tacos. Margaritas are outstanding, too. Fresh ingredients. The place is small and it can get packed pretty quick. Also, there are three tables hidden outside on the side of the building. Bonus if you can sit outside. read more

Al pastor tacos, pork is so chewy and tasteless. Disgusting Portion or guacamole is super small for 2 euro too. And while I was waiting for my tacos I saw how the cook was mixing the sauce and tried it from the same spoon and then continued to mix the same spoon from his mouth. By far the best tacos in Barcelona. The nicest people are here and they speak some English. I have been ordering mexicana food in Spanish for a while so it was cool to do it in proper Spanish. They have amazing tacos here! By far the best ones I have tried in Barcelona, and they are a great price! The only bad thing about this place is that they don't have any really spicy salsa. I'm from the U.S., more specifically Southern California where you can find great tacos almost anywhere. These tacos are amazing, and a must try. Super affordable option and would recommend the 4 most sold tacos and a beer for €12.50. Can't get any better than that except their salsas. I had Number 3-5 and loved the spice level. No. 5 is tolerable if you love spicy food. Again, highly recommend. read more

Delicious tacos in a great atmosphere! Clean, modern, and colorful space with nice employees who speak English. The margaritas rimmed with salt are great as well as the variety of homemade salsas. As for the tacos, yum! They have interesting combinations of ingredients all with good flavor and for around 2€ each. Great place to stop when around Ciudtadella and Arc de Triumph. read more

Best tacos I had during my stay in Barcelona! If you are in the mood for chicken tacos definitely get the free-range version as it was so much better than the pulled chicken. A bit underwhelming for us - some of our tacos (~€2 each) were way too salty, and it took a good 25 minutes to get our 8 tacos and a plate of nachos... Some of the tacos were good though, and the waitress kept a huge smile on her face all evening long despite being clearly overworked :) read more

Great little place with different style tacos. I really actually loved the chicken quesadilla. It was made with corn tortillas so totally GF and the flavor of the chicken was really spectacular. They also offer cervesa and margaritas that are decent. Great fast place to grab a bite with good prices as well. read more

I had the Pirata, safari, Tulum, & Sinaloa tacos. Each one had a distinct and great flavor. I think my personal favorite was the Safari with grilled chicken with bell peppers and onion. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful on its own which is sometimes not the case with taco joints like this. With that said, I'd easily recommend any of the tacos I had as they were all great. read more

Tried this place for the first time last week and it did not disappoint. I had 3 tacos which were all very good. And I soaked those down with a classic margarita, which was good but strong. My favorite part about this restaurant is there 5 levels of hot sauce. I tried the hottest one first and regretted it right away. But the 2nd hottest was just right, and I had that with my tacos which added a nice spice. Prices are decent; the most expensive one being 2.50 Euros. They also have different options for tacos; I had 3 but I will probably get 6 next time because the tacos do run small. Will certainly go back to try their nachos, which sound delicious. read more

Then the smell hit, pinched our noses and we were pleased. Garlic & chilli hit. And we just knew it was right on. So we followed our noses. We could see the wok master at his pyromaniac work from outside this small narrow place. A not enough room to swing a cat space. Mind you I can't think why anyone would want to treat a cat so. It was full of 20 and 30 somethings both those dining and those cooking. Intense gas heat, high flame, thin steel = little oil, rapid stir fry cooking of thin cut meats, vegetables and proper spice balance. Perfection. So the price is structured. I opted for thin noodles rather than rice, chicken as protein, cashew nuts for delicious texture, oyster mushrooms and beansprouts for taste and, of course, chilli spice. They add white onions, carrots and greens at no extra charge but I did say to go heavy on the fresh coriander at the end and they did. From start to paper carton it was a few brief minutes. €14.20 (£12.) and the serving was enough for two. 3 green stars. Wooden forks, spoons and paper tissues on site with narrow uncomfortable seating but great fresh cooked, hot tasty food. The oyster mushrooms and cashews sure pushed up the price but it was worth every cent particularly the cashews and honestly we didn't need the chicken. I noted that we passed many places offering all manner of paella - meat, fish, vegetarian but no smell not a whiff of garlic, frying onion so I avoid as I'm cynical enough to think it's pre frozen and microwaved food.
