The food was very decently priced. We had tacos, drinks, and nachos. We all preferred the pork pibil tacos (had a different name in the shop) best. The chicken mole tacos were also very flavorful. We did not prefer the beans in our nachos as they were overwhelmed with onions. The service was excellent. Our server was very helpful in explaining the menu and food arrived quickly after ordering. Being from San Diego, we know a thing or two about Mexican food. So, when we came across Tacos Tacos in Poble Sec, we yearned for a taste of home but were skeptical. In most non-SD/Mexico places in the world the menu helps siphon real Mexican food from tourist trap BS but when the menu looks convincing, the smell is a dead giveaway. One night while in the neighborhood eating pinxtos, we walked by and immediately said to each other "wow, that actually looks and smells like real Mexican food." Two days later, we gave them a shot and were glad we did. They make pretty authentic TJ style street tacos in a variety of flavors; some Mexican and some with a creative Spanish twist. These were hands down some of the best tacos I've ever had, and one of my favorite spots to eat during my 6/2022 visit. Was pretty bummed out and disappointed at this spot. What lured us in was the funky colors and cheap tacos for 1€. But you definitely get what you pay for. All of the meats are not grilled but blanched instead so you don't get the crunch/grilled flavors of the meats. Instead you do get bland tasting tacos. Walking around Madrid, we got a craving for nachos and tacos. My brother happened to know of this little gem. Upon entering Tacos Tacos, you'll notice the small interior, but without a doubt, large crowd to follow. The prices are so so sooooooo cheap, and the quality is delicious. Despite the size of the tacos being small, each of the 4 different tacos I had were excellent quality. Tacos Tacos is hands down my favorite Mexican food spot in Barcelona. Every single item on their menu is amazing, at least everything I tasted lol. The menu is funny because the tacos are named Spanish swear words. I thought about three tacos were a good amount for me. The ones that come more like a quesadilla with two tortillas & cheese with meat in the middle are a little larger so if you're coming on an empty stomach I would suggest trying a few of those. I would suggest the chorizo if you're looking for some more spice ! Pulled pork was a great choice too. They give you a bunch of different hot sauces, my favorite was the hot green chili sauce. Perfect if you like spice but can't handle too much of it. The margaritas were just as great as the food. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and one of the shots on the last page of the menu. The margarita was great, not too weak and not too strong. The tequila shots were great as well. They don't come with salt and lime so if you want that you'll have to ask! As a new arrival to Barcelona I turned to Yelp to find a place to eat. Tacos Tacos was relatively close and well rated. We arrived and it was quite busy for a Monday night. The atmosphere was fun and lively, the place is relatively small and we were able to find 5 seats at the bar. Staff spoke pretty good English, enough to overcome our lack of Spanish. The nachos, tacos and tamarindo beverages were quite good. Overall a delicious meal. I decided to check-in for my free taco only to find out it was 1€ taco Monday... we filled our bellies and imbibed with some adult beverages escaping when just a 50€ bill. The tacos were delicious and at a reasonable price point (1,50€, 1€ on Tuesdays!), plenty of salsa choices and everything tasted fresh. However, after my second visit I have had to downgrade the rating a bit. The tortillas tasted as if they had not been heated enough, and unfortunately this was a fatal error as it jeopardised the taste of the entire taco. :( It could have been because they were quite busy. On Wednesdays they have 1,50 euro tacos, 1 euro tequila shots, and 3 euro margaritas. I got the chicken pibil taco, the pork pibil taco, the cheese taco, a tequila shot, and a mango margarita for 8,50 euros. A taco lovers dream!! After not having so much luck in Europe with Mexican food, I wasn't expecting too much from this place. We arrived at 11pm and ordered nachos and the pork/salsa verde tacos. The tacos were perfect. The meat was juicy and spiced just right. I was amazed at their salsa selection which ranged from salsa verde, salsa roja to the super hot habanero. The nachos were so good!!! I highly recommend the gucamole and jalapeno creme dips when ordering. We devoured every last chip. We came back two more times during our 5 day stay in Barcelona. The happy hour is a must. The fresh made salsas just topped it off perfectly. The margaritas were okay to me. They were quite different from what I am used to, but they worked. The place is full of color and maintained well. If Americans (like myself) would leave the United States every once in a while, they would realize that American "authentic" Mexican food is over-flavored and covered with extraneous ingredients which destroy the taste of the poor quality American meat. This restaurant uses natural wholesome ingredients and the meat speaks for itself. Those who say the place is disgusting did not try the pork cheek, beef neck or the other chicken choice available which was PIBIL CHICKEN which was very delicious to say the least. The beef neck is particularly good if I must say so! So tender and juicy. Some of these ingredients are not used in the US, but are used in Mexico (such as the mole sauce).... Because Americans have a specific pallet and enjoy mostly Tex-Mex, we do not recognize and or enjoy such things... don't eat the mole taco if you aren't used to foreign food. There are other menu choices that use non-Mexican ingredients which are labeled on the menu as Catalans or Espanols. I have not tried the sausage tacos yet, maybe I will next time. I am American, this place was very delicious and inexpensive. Do not be thwarted by other people's bad reviews, they are incorrect! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The customer service here is wonderful. They lady who owns the shop works there every day and is very polite, speaks English very well, and is happy to see people enjoying her food.
