Being from Texas, this was a GREAT place to get Mexican Food. The wait staff provided excellent service and the colorful decor made a feel closer to home. Highly recommended! read more

Pretty good Mexican food spot in Barcelona. The interior is super well decorated with florals giving it that Mexico feeling. Coming from Texas it wasn't the best Mexican food I've had, but it got the job done. The chicken quesadillas were delicious. I loved the green salsa they brought out. Unfortunately, the Spanish rice wasn't very tasty. The flavor was off in my opinion. The chips they gave with the guacamole were awful. They tasted old and just super thick. They gave delicious smoothies so highly recommend those! Service was good. Nice spot for Mexican food read more

Loveeeeeeee! I know it may be a sin to eat something other than typical to Spain or Catalan cuisine but they had a 5 euro marg sign Needless to say, I had my passionfruit marg (s) lol and yes they have happy hour! Staff is amazing! The decor is so cute and you get the hint of Mexico! Yet with a touch of Spanish I got the mixed taco plate. AMAZING! Give it a try if you're around! read more

My friend and I came here for dinner after searching for tacos in the area! This place had amazing reviews..I loved the vibe and decor inside (colorful flip flops and dolls? Lol). We ordered two appetizers: coctel de camaron (prawns in a spicy tomato sauce) and ceviche. Both came with tortilla chips to dip and omg both were amazing. The ceviche was my particular favorite since the diced fish and lime juice was very fresh and flavorful. For tacos my friend got the variety of tacos to try a little bit of each and I got the quesabirrias. Amazing flavors and a great portion. We also got a bunch of drinks that were also really good! We loved the atmosphere and the food :) so glad we stopped here for our first dinner in Barcelona read more

Good service and food if you're looking for an alternative to the tapas menus of the area. Ceviche was light and refreshing though though the chips were a little thick and hard for my new world tastes. read more

Who would have thought that you could find great Mexican food in Barcelona?! I guess there is a reason why they have a reservation website that you need to sign up on! (So make sure you plan on what time you plan to eat there so you can reserve ahead of time!) We arrived at our reservation time and was quickly seated upstairs in the loft area. The whole restaurant has bright vibrant decor that definitely gives it even more energy. The menu was online via QR code but we did not have reception so the server was able to give us their physical menu. We ordered a guava mojito, carne asada burritos and guacamole with chips. They had me sold on the burrito when I read in the description that it had refried beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, and sourcream (aka a "super burrito" in SF). The guava mojito was delicious. The housemade guava and chips were fire. And the burritos! They were reminiscent of SF La Corneta/El Farolito "super burritos"!!! The server also gave us 4 different salsas to try when we asked for a spicy salsa. They were all delicious! When we come back to Barcelona, we will definitely stop by again!!! read more

Thanks Yelp for helping find this spot. A little flavor of Mexico in Barcelona! The Variety Tacos has awesome flavors with the three hot sauce options. The draft beer was cold and the lime margaritas were refreshing. We would easily return on our next visit to Barcelona. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy! read more

Excellent Mexican food! The arracherria nachos had really good ingredients, the quesabirria was delicious, and the Al pastor was awesome! Such a great spot if you're craving Mexican instead of Spanish. read more

Rosa Negra has a nice casual vibe. Food was good and portions were generous. The only complaint I will say is the service, it was good at first but not attentive once the food came out. We had to keep looking around for an available person to give us our check. read more

We were craving street tacos. We came across Rosa Negra by chance. We were not disappointed. The street tacos were great with really tasty carne asada. We also had rolled tacos and guacamole. Actually good Mexican food in Europe?? Whaaaa?? I got tacos a variety plate. It came with one taco of each flavor on the menu. That way, I didn't have to just decide on 4 tacos of one flavor. I could have one of each. I don't remember now what flavor they each were. Definitely meat. A bit dry. Yummy yummy drinks. Can't go wrong with a pina colada or a marg. read more

I love love love this place! Sad we are only here two days because I would go back for dinner at this place. Great staff, amazing food and drinks. We had the variety of tacos, guacamole, Rosa negra beer, watermelon basil refresher and queso-Birria. Would recommend it all! read more

Awesome Mexican spot in Barcelona! Stopped in after a long day and it hit the spot perfectly! No wait on a Thursday around 8:30 PM and we were served quickly with drinks and food. The restaurant was lively with music, lots of people, and cute decor. The strawberry mojito was nice and sweet, just like I like! For the tacos, you can choose 1 style (carne asada, al pastor, chicken, fish, etc.) and get 4 tacos for 11,50€ which is not bad at all. I got the fish tacos (fried fish, lettuce, pico de gallo, chipotle crema) and wooooow - so yummy! I don't usually like tomatoes but these were so good! My friend enjoyed her vegetarian quesadillas and another got the 4 chicken tacos (which she said were good but kind of plain). I still think about these fish tacos and would love to go back! read more

This was a fabulous surprise! I ate there on my own and my husband left his work dinner to meet me there ( so I got to stay for an extra margarita)! The meal with all of the taco options was fantastic. The service was great! The margaritas were delicious! It was a welcome treat for someone who is not adventurous enough to try octopus tapas in the Spanish restaurants. I loved it and would go back! read more

Enjoyed the quesadilla and a fresh guacamole. Margaritas and mojitos can also be made without alcohol.

I had the variety of tacos and it was full of flavor. I've had better Sangria elsewhere. My husband had chicken quesadilla and he liked it. They bring 3 different salsas and they are all great. read more

This meal definitely satisfied our cravings for the Mexican flavor we had been lacking since being in Europe! The lunch deal was great! My friend and I split the tostada and enchiladas and were left satisfied without a dessert which rarely happens! Service was great, friendly and fast. We came here in the afternoon and despite it being an odd time to eat it was busy! A great atmosphere to have a margarita or two! read more

I came in for lunch while in Barcelona and it was pretty empty, but I think a sign outdoors about some happy hour brought me in. I tried a couple of their margheritas and thought they tasted delicious. I also got the birria tacos and those were great as well. I'm a bit surprised to find such great Mexican food here, but it definitely did not disappoint. The service was great. They were very attentive and spoke English decently. I think the prices are on par with other restaurants in the area, but the food was very good so I think it's well worth it. I'll be visiting again if I'm ever in the area. + read more

My friends and I got recommended Rosa Negra from a local who applauded the food and ambiance. After visiting for dinner, I can't say we found it to be as excellent as the other Mexican locations we have had in the past. The burrito bowl felt inconsistent with a lack of a proper rice base and the shrimp quesadillas felt generic and lacking of flavor. The service felt somewhat unwelcoming and overall while the food is decent, it's not anything too amazing that would make it a success especially given the wonderful cuisines that Barcelona has to offer read more

This is day 5 for us in Barcelona & this was THE BEST meal we have had! We ordered the tacos variety & chips & Guac, and Cappuccinos. The tacos are as good, if not better, than one of my favorite spots back home in Texas, USA. The cappuccinos were also the best ones I've had here (I love to drink cappuccinos and cappuccino Freddos while in Europe daillllyyyy). The staff were all very nice & welcoming to us, which we appreciate very, very much! They also got us seated quickly, without a reservation and served us quickly! The atmosphere was fun, with great music playing in the background (who doesn't like Bruno Mars, Lionel Ritchie!) Will definitely stop in again before leaving and so glad we found this place!! read more

Food was outstanding and as I'm originally from Texas, I am picky about mexican food. We had the flautas and fish tacos, homemade guacamole and refried beans. All were outstanding. Service was fantastic too. Margaritas were good but pricy for the size. read more

Great Mexican food! From the other reviews I see that it's difficult to find good Mexican food in Barcelona, so Rosa Negra is a solid choice if you're having a craving. Service was great - we had to wait only ten minutes for a table, which was impressive considering how packed the place was. I got the vegetarian burrito for €7.90, and it was jam packed with all the classic stuff: corn, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and guac. I really enjoyed the burrito but didn't think it was anything super special. I'd probably come back here if I lived in the city, but not regularly. I've had much better Mexican food in the States. read more

Was my first dining experience in Barcelona, and I must say this restaurant is known for the vibes. We came here around 19:00, before the crowd and secured a table. We ordered mezcaleros (piña) which were strong and tasty. For entrees, we got the variados tacos (pollo, carne asada, al pastor y cochinita). Al pastor was the best! The rest were just ok. Overall, the atmosphere was better than the food, but it's a decent touristy restaurant; it's cute and colorful inside. read more

Really cool Mexican place right in downtown Barcelona. My wife and I were craving some tacos and decided to give this place a try. The inside is really authentic and fun looking. It is apparently always crowded here so be prepared for a wait if you go during a peak time. For my meal I went with chicken tacos. The tacos come in fours. I was really disappointed that you could not mix and match the tacos because I wanted to try the chicken, fish, and grilled beef, but was limited to having all four chicken. The chicken tacos were pretty bland. The toppings for all of the other tacos had a lot more variety, while the chicken tacos don't come with anything on them. The chicken was good and the tortilla had a good flavor, but overall it was nothing impressive. read more

Heard of this place all the way back in the states. A must try in Barca. It's not tapas but it's delicious without a doubt. It's affordable and the decor is awesome! Food: I always get the fish tacos when I go because they are perfect every single time plus they come with a little guacamole which is a plus. I've had the taco sample platter and think it's good but the fish tacos stole my heart. They are pertly crispy and just the right amount of food! They also have great guacamole as a starter! Drinks: drinks are super affordable here. I always got a margarita or a mojito because they are so on point! read more

Rosa Negra often comes to my rescue when I'm eating late in Barcelona. It's lively and loud and always packed with people. The food isn't really anything special. If you want better Mexican food, I recommend Tlaxcal. I've had the enchiladas and the carne asada burrito here and it's supremely mediocre. The sincronizada is a weird slice of ham in a quesadilla, so it's not worth your money. I do think the super nachos are pretty filling and a decent option if you're pounding drinks. The benefit of Rosa Negra is that it stays open later than most places in the Gothic Quarter. 12:30 a.m. most nights and 1:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, for some reason, there is always a parade of incredibly beautiful young women here. I'm guessing the margaritas, loud colors, tacky decorations, and lively atmosphere appeal to the 20-something crowd. Rosa Negra is nothing special, but if you need a late night Mexican fix, it can be a godsend. read more

Rosa Negra - Taco sampler - Mexican Near Me - Barcelona, B

I wasn't expecting much from a Mexican place in Spain, but I was pleasantly surprised! Food was excellent and I think as close to authentic as you can get for being an ocean away from the real stuff. Service was good and the decor and ambiance was super fun. You know they did their research into the culture because of the Virgin of Guadalupe imagery and the use of enamel plates and cups. The ceviche was excellent as well as the tacos. The only thing missing was a bit of salsa (which I believe costs extra). The al pastor quesadillas were a bit mid along with the quesabirria, but still good (again, needed a bit of salsa). Definitely don't skip the cajeta crepes with ice cream for dessert! My only complaint is that you either have to pick just 1 meat for the tacos or get the sampler that has one of each, no mixing and matching like I'm used to, but otherwise definitely worth checking out if you're in Barcelona! read more

The most important thing to note here is that they have the BEST MOJITOS EVER! My husband and I were walking back to our hotel from dinner and planning to hit the sack after a long day of exploring but we couldn't help but wonder where all of the laughter and good vibes were coming from, out of a vibrant and colorful spot! So, naturally, we wanted to join the party! The restaurant was PACKED and while we had already eaten, we were definitely down to indulge in one of their famous mojitos that are always on special. Oh man, we were so happy that we stopped in. Rosa Negra and their sister restaurant were definitely a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. I ordered their fresh muddled strawberry mojito and it was absolutely incredible. They make their fruit purees in house and fresh, which makes the mojitos all that much better. They are like dessert! I really didn't NEED another one, but hey, we were on vacay so why not? We ended up staying for two tasty mojitos (hubby had a tequila shot as his second drink) and needless to say, we slept GREAT that night! ;) We didn't have any food here but we had dinner at their sister restaurant a few nights later and LOVED their Mexican food! I'm sure it is just as good here. If you're in Barcelona and looking for a fun place to stop in and take a break from tapas, the Rosa family has you covered. We'll definitely be back on our next trip! read more

I didn't know I would find mexican food in barcelona let alone good mexican. This was solid mexican food and would stack up against what I have had in america. We started with the flauntas which are essentially toquitos. Crunchy, a little spicy, with great flavor. I also tried the taco variety platter which was big time. I couldn't stop eating honestly. My wife got the enchiladas and loved them too. I didn't come to barcelona to have mexican food but it hit the mark. It was packed so come early and put your name in.
