I went here for the first time with my boyfriend who is from the area, along with two other friends from Barcelona, who we hadn't seen in a long time. This was without a doubt the worst restaurant experience I have had in Barcelona, despite the food being decent.
Caveats: 1) I love Mexican food! Overall the food was alright, and Mexican food can be hard to come by in Barcelona; 2) One of the staff was very kind to us: I didn't get his name but he had a tattoo on his arm, and he was wonderful. However, the other staff were very rude to us, especially one who was bald. When my partner and I arrived, we ordered our drinks (we were inside where it was quite hot), and the staff proceeded to forget about us entirely, until about 15 minutes later when they noticed us waiting and they started preparing them. Then, the bald guy told me and my friends to stop bringing him new paper order sheets, despite the fact that we were only doing this because his coworker kept bringing us new sheets to fill out. Next, he had to taste-test our drinks because they looked the same and he didn't know which was which (not a big deal, but a little annoying for us since he was already unhappy).
Finally, we were partway into our second order of drinks and still eating our food when one of the staff came up and told us they had another group of people to seat so he was asking us to hurry up and leave. We had been eating and drinking fairly quickly, and had just recently gotten our second round of drinks, so I was pretty bummed.
The food was decent but nothing to write home about and definitely not cheap, and the staff were simply mean. Mexican food is hard to come by in Barcelona but best to go elsewhere, it'll be worth it!
Edit: the owner actually replied to my review on Google. They called me a male Karen, invasive species, pest, and offended snowflake.
They also said I must not hear well because I was "unable to remember basic commands" about not bringing new paper menus up. (Again, the staff kept bringing us new paper menus to fill out, which is why we did so until we were reprimanded.) I was pretty surprised the owner would jump right into name-calling customers who have had unpleasant experiences (both locals and travelers), instead of engaging in a respectful conversation.
