The decor is Early Chicken Collection and Best in Town Awards; the food is Pure-D Comfort. I had to go tell the cooks how much I loved their work. My Hamburger Steak was firm and astonishingly tasty, covered with onions and a perfect dark brown glacé; the mashed potatoes were real, not a mix, and covered with a peppery cream gravy; and the fresh! green beans were made like I make them, with pieces of bacon and bits of onion. The tea was perfect: brewed and not bitter, even unsweetened. My husband's Chicken Fried Steak, fried okra and mac-n-cheese got inhaled before I could sample more than one mouthful and see why. The included dessert was chocolate cupcakes with pudding on top -- yummy! Those cooks, said our talented waitress, Kaidence, love their work. When you go, check out the white Daily Specials board; one of today's was Goulash, two sides, and tea. Lunch was especially entertaining because two ladies seated at a table near us were Hobbitting -- talking about meals eaten at other local restaurants recently while addressing their lunches at CJ's -- and later engaged us in a spirited discussion. This cafe illustrates why small towns are the best. Go eat there from 7 to 2, breakfast or lunch, and encourage them to stay open despite all the mounting challenges to running a business in America.

We were told the wait list was 15 minutes and that is exactly the amount of time we had to wait. An honest wait list is always appreciated. We had the Combo with pancakes, Crab Cake Benedict with grits, a single Biscoff crepe, Endless hot coffee, and a cold brew. The food is fresh, plentiful and well cooked. I have no complaints on the delicious food. The only not so tasty thing was the coffee. We like strong, bold brews. The regular hot coffee was decent, but the cold brew tastes like iced coffee and not cold brew. This won't stop us from heading back because the food was great. Our server was delightful. Actually, all employees we interacted with were awesome considering how very busy the restaurant was. There was not one empty table the entire time we dined. Employees were friendly and helpful. There is currently some type of construction going on in the front of the restaurant, but since they are located in strip shopping center, this does not affect parking. They also have lunch items on the menu, so I'll try one of those next time.

While many reviews focus on wait times, ambiance, or the outdoor environment--which does an excellent job accommodating families with young children like ours--the reason we keep coming back is the food and service. Both have been consistently outstanding on every visit. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food has never disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant whether you're looking for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a little bit of all three. It's become one of our favorite spots for both family outings and time together as a couple.

While, we've had some issues with poor service I've never written a negative review because we like their food and it's 4 minutes from home. This review goes directly to the manager/owner, who asked me to leave when I told him I didn't agree with the stores policy regarding seating. When I arrived at Sunny Street the restaurant was about half full and no one was waiting. My husband was in the car finishing a phone call. I was asked to have a seat while we waited for him. I did. During the 5-7 minutes I was waiting 2 groups came in and were seated. The manager/owner walked up to the hostess stand and asked why I was waiting. He was told by the waitress that I was waiting for my husband who was in the car on the phone. Since there wasn't anyone else waiting I asked if I could be seated. He told me that it was against policy because my husband had not come inside yet. I told him that while I understood the policy I was hoping he would let me go ahead and be seated since no one was waiting. He became agitated and gruffly told me that he could not make exceptions. I told him again that while I understood the policy I was hoping he would be kind enough to let me be seated since no one was waiting and that my husband would be off his phone call any minute. He then became aggressive and told me to leave. I told him I was hungry and didn't want to leave. He repeated himself again in an even more aggressive voice and said, "I want you to leave now!" As I turned to leave, I thought twice about the way I was being treated. The following week, my husband and I were eating at another nearby restaurant and the waitress recognized us. We also recognized her as a Sunny Street employee. Because she is such a kind and cheerful individual we shared our story with her about the manager. She apologized on his behalf. She then went onto share that he was known by the employees as a grumpy old man. She then went on to say that "grumpy old man" was the nicest thing any of the employees had to say about him. How sad that the employees feel this way about him.

I might try them again another time and see if I have a different experience. I saw that they had a $17 buffet on Tik Tok so I decided to check it out with a friend. A lot went wrong that was out of the restaurants control- they had no idea that someone posted them and were not prepared for the sudden influx of people. We waited and waited and waited to be seated and then had to wait again for the buffet line ( over an hour and a half before we were eating). They had two servers for the entire restaurant and those women were hustling. The restaurant has a tin roof and with all the people going in and out and the hot grill at the back, I felt like we were eating outside. Everyone was sweating. It.was.so.hot. When we reached the plates for the buffet line , they were all greasy as if they hadn't been washed properly. The food wasn't bad, but the best things by far were the pancakes and French toast made to order . I also liked the cheddar sausage and biscuit. The people are nice, the food is decent and worth the price , but the long lines, the heat, and the greasy plates didn't allow me to really enjoy my meal.
