I just picked up a compression sack for a North Face sleeping bag and planning to buy a new stove and cot from the Hiker Box. I had compared their prices with those via the internet and they are almost identical. In a short conversation with a couple of the folks from the store as I was checking out I was told that they personally check out almost every piece of gear they sell. From Jet Boil Stoves to backpacks for your dog, they have it. Probably the biggest reason to shop at the Hiker Box is in knowing that what you buy will be well researched, quality products. A staff member provides a comprehensive review of the boat and it's features, and then you are free to cruise the blue-green waters of the Chain O' Lakes all day. The pontoon (20' Hydrotherapy) was clean and comfortable, the canopy kept us shaded when the sun was hot, you have swim stairs in case you want to stop at a sandbar and cool off, and there were no issues at all with the motor. Plus they give you a map showing the lakes in the chain, detailing which ones are no-wake so the day was relaxing and trouble-free from start to finish.
