The previous Tack Solutions was truly a stop for consignment tack of all values and conditions, and was a store that the horse industry of Arizona could rely upon to move their items as well as resell affordable tack. For years, Tack Solutions was a wonderful stop to shop for all horse items, making horse ownership affordable. Unfortunately, the "new" store has an arrogant feel with pushy sales, and their shelves boasting more new products alongside their wildly expensive consignment items. During one visit, it was mentioned that there is a major decrease of used tack being brought into the store, however I've spoken with many people who have had decent tack turned away because it wouldn't have a high enough resale value. Used tack pricing: - Stained blankets, $69.99 used, same brand new online for $89.99 - Used Toklat bits, $99.99, new $120 online Additionally, the blankets they had available were filthy...urine smells, coated in hair...not for the prices they were asking! Gone are the days of affordable used tack from this location...go to Craigslist or Facebook marketplace where the used tack is being moved and resold. read more

I love this store! I always get astounding customer service every time I visit! All the employees are very knowledgeable about their craft and it really helps when trying to decide what you need for your horse and self. The selection is fantastic, ranging from Western to English and everything in between. Ranging from safety, horse wear, summer needs, and treats! I love the prices in this store. Lower than many other tack stores and a better selection as well! I would spend hundreds more here if I had the money! Very well kept up shop and it's always exciting to see the service dog in training! Her owner has done a very good job. Pretty bummed because I was ready to buy a pair of boots and even found a pair I loved but I wasn't greeted or even helped in anyway so I decided to leave after 10-15 minutes. Drove 45 miles each way with a load of tack to consign, they refused to take it because it was Tuesday. Wouldn't even allow me to leave it when I explained how far I drove. Clerk said I should have called?! Really?! Rude and unprofessional. I see why the business is for sale, still. Bad reputation. Wow, nasty response from owner. Leslie, I stated I drove 45 miles so clearly I'm not going to see some piece of paper on the door until I get there. Just close the doors. Clearly you hate your customers. I sold my tack on eBay, no consignment fees. So much for supporting a local shop. The prices are way to high for used items. I consigned a saddle that I wanted to clear 500.00 on the sale. She tagged the saddle for 1200.00. The saddle was worth a grand but not 1.2k. The only way she would lower the price is if I came down on mine. I understand commission on sales but more than a 50% mark up is to much. I picked it up after 6 mos and sold it on Craig's list for 800.00 the next day. I would recommend CL if you want a deal, or just buy new if you're not to concerned. Check out the bargain barn for a great selection of used saddles at reasonable prices. read more

I like this place. It's really fun to spend a few hours browsing around in. The prices are a little high on most everything.. I get that the owner doesn't set the prices, but I'd encourage her to consult the consignment clients a little better or maybe lower the consignment fee. It seems you can just buy new tack online for $10 bucks more. Either the consignment clients are REALLY attached to their tack and don't want to sell, or the consignment fee is high. Anyway, I really do like coming here and have bought several pieces of tack just for convenience's sake since there's so few english tack outlets here in Phoenix. Two big thumbs up for the saddle selection. It's got to be the largest used english saddle collection in the valley. Also, I believe they offer a trial period on all saddles, that's great. I wish they'd update their website more often and list more items. (like all the saddles) I live in Laveen, so it's a trek for me to get up to TS, so it would be really helpful if I could browse saddles online first to get a list of the ones I wanted to see in person and feel, possibly take out on trial. Don't waste your time dealing with the ignorance that you will find at this store. I brought in a beautiful Stubben saddle for consignment, however I was very, VERY rudely told the saddle was "broken". She determined this by "flexing" the tree, which had some give to it. The give was due to the Stubben saddle having a spring flex tree. It should flex. She claims that she has 15 years experience and knows what she's talking about. I told her that I have much more experience than that and that she has no idea what she's talking about. Was she simply trying to talk me out of a very nice saddle because she thought I was clueless??? One has to wonder... As well, the saddle has been absolutely verified to not be broken. read more

I had to spend quite a long time in the shop and ask for help and advice, but I finally got it. Having been in the tack industry I understand some of the difficulties. I found friendly service and reasonable prices. It can be difficult to do business with some vendors and consignors, seems the nature of the biz (which is why I am out of it). I see this shop has a few haters, there are usually specific reasons why business owners give poor service to some. Everyone wants to come in and experience the tack shop experience (that you don't get online) but then they expect to actually pay less than the online vendors. Not only is the used tack overpriced, some of it is in bad condition. If you want to pay $700 for an off-brand saddle in terrible condition or a helmet with someone's name on it for $45, then this is your place. I don't know if those selling their tack are setting the prices or if the owner is. Either way, something has to change for this business to continue to thrive. I sure hope that it does! Very sadden to see Leslie's responses to reviews on here and FB. I used to have my students do all their show shopping at her store, years ago. As time went by the selection and service fell, sorrily. I hope she finds someone to buy the store soon or just lets it go. It's not worth being so bitter to customers and making them former customers. We have many consignment shops where I summer train. They all take items for consignment during published business hours. I love this place. The selection of clothing and equipment is very good especially in the limited space, I didn't come across anything in bad repair and the lady there was fun to talk with. While I searched for what I needed she helped several other customers and answered the phone always with a friendly tone. I found what I needed but because they do not accept Amex (like a lot of places dont) had to come back to purchase it and she held my items for me. When I came back another lady was there and she too was very friendly and helpful. I will be back! Were I able I would buy the business too, love this kind of place, my personal dream to own one and this business is for sale. Until it sells they can expect me to be a regular, I got some gorgeous paddock boots, a breyer horse and found breeches and half chaps in my size! As far as prices I'd say they're middle of the road for used equipment but it is a consignment store too so I know they have to respect what their consigners want for their items. read more

I bought my first saddle - a Collegiate dressage- many years ago from Tack Sol'n - still have it, still love it. Just purchased my first Western saddle there today. Leslie helped me find it, helped me fit it and gave me advice as to how it should fit my horse. In the dozens of times I've been in this store I've never encountered an unfriendly face. The prices range from very cheap to very expensive - like any other consignment shop, you have to hold out for what you want and check back often. I've done great so far and hope to do so again, soon! read more

Nothing special to write home about. Be ready to spend time if you are looking for a good deal. Most stuff is priced very close to full retail even though they are used and some are really used. I have shopped here twice using their website because I live 2 hours away. I have found several new/used items of tack and clothing unavailable in my town and for very reasonable (even great) prices. The online pictures are pretty good and reply by e-mail has been prompt. I have made calls to the shop and the employees have taken measurements for me and are very cheerful and helpful. One advantage is that you can see the item in the shop before you buy-not an option with online only stores. I've had them hold my items until I can get there or I have the option of arranging for shipping. I agree that some prices seem high, but a buyer can decide what is affordable and in good condition, so I don't see it as a reason not to shop here-you may just find a great deal that makes your horse's day! read more
