Dinnertime, the 13, Feb, just before Valentine's day 2021. Had tried to make a Fri evening pre-date, e-message reservation at one restaurant, rejected. Two phone calls & having it suggested that we present ourselves & register, then expect a wait. My choice was one of the Argentinean restaurant on Blvd Ag Caliente, wife wanted to dine at a a place in Plaza Chapultepec. We left our names @ the Chapu resaurant and were told a table may be available in approx 40+ min, or longer. Wife suggested we walk up Ave Sonora & we strolled over to the Argentine restaurant in that direction. Wife asked if we wanted a drink. We made our way to Word Bar, which was empty. After a frisk & bag review, complete w/ a punk, tough-guy stairdown we were in & out of est. & left. Crossed the street to a 2nd, empty bar. There I asked for a Glenfiddich neat w/ bartender. He tells me to ask the waiter/security/doorman. Given copies of a plain, no-frills menu while I waited, I asked for a Scotch only to be told food needed to be ordered! Really?? We were looking for a special Valentine's meal & were being insisted to order food @ an empty, no-anything special bar?? Again we declined, walked away. Walked to the back of the lot to the restaurant Tabule, thinking only of reviewing a menu & returning to see about our standby status. At Tabule hostess shared that everything was booked & no tables were available; led into the lower branch which had approx 10 tables w/ partners or small groups of diners as the young lady went for the scan page for us to input & review the menu. Menu was intriguing, seemed even to have great possibilities. As we walked out, I said to the young lady that there seemed to be room in the dining room. She said again, all tables were reserved but that she could ask. A few min later the hostess returned and shared there was 1 table available on the 2nd floor. We enter the 2nd fl & there is a- six peeps table, 3 couples @ tables, & 5 or 6 empty tables! Really?? In Tabule, food was delicious, sufficient ++, relaxed & timed service were all impeccable. Patrons are guided through a mostly ala carte menu (until the meat dish) ranging fr appetizers, salads, pastas to the meats/ seafood/ fowl. Pictures of plates & portions are below. Dishes of note: both appetizers-- bbq baby back ribs & mango & in special chef's chile/bar-b-que sauce (salsa) & the grilled on oak shrimp & baby octopus in butter... ummm!! Next we shared a cesar salad, which was creamy but overly salted. The wife ordered grilled marinated, salmon w/ fresh, handmade pasta & I had baked raviolli stuffed w/ veal & portabello. Both dishes had excellent & subtle seasonings w/ portions large enough for us to bring home leftovers, along w/ two ribs. We were asked about ordering dessert & took the challenge, sharing the date/ nut tart w/ chocolate sauce bathed in ice cream!! It had an absolutely delicate & mild flavorings, along with the mild sweetness of the ice cream. Our pre-Valentine's Day dinner had great, fresh, & tasty flavors/ subtle spiciness and portions were fantastic! Add to this the pleasant setting w/ moderated popular music & our server Hector who had a professional, knowledgeable & great/ funny/ playful disposition & we left totally content & satisfied. We'd had a delightful & special dinner. Another blessing was that for our meal that included a large glass of wine, a Glenlivet scotch, neat, a beer, water & tip and still only totaled under $110. I came here a while back ago to celebrate my friends birthday. I would consider it to be one of the nicest/preppiest restaurants in the area. It's expensive if you compare it to the surrounding restaurants, but it's worth it. Food is delicious and service is amazing. The environment is appropriate for a number of things, dates, girls night out, family reunions, birthdays, etc. My favorite thing to get here is some form of sushi roll. The portions are usually generous and I've never been disappointed with anything. They also have a lot of delicious signature drinks which I've had a time or two. The only downer of this otherwise wonderful place, is the parking. I would recommend you try and find something on the street, BUT if you're coming here on a weekend night, then just use the valet parking, trust me you'll save a lot of time by doing this. read more

Tabule - Bars Near Me - Tijuana, BCN

On Saturday I was intending to eat at La Cayetana in Paseo Chapultepec because I like the server Javier there. However, when I entered the restaurant, manager Geraldo advised that Javier no longer worked there, but he had decamped to Tabule, which is just across Calle Sonora from the Paseo. Accordingly, I left my car in the garage at Paseo Chapultepec and walked across Calle Sonora to Tabule [where I have not been in about a year]. Tabule was always the restaurant of choice for the gilded Gucci-Vuitton Tijuana gentry, a hang-out to which they would motor down from their big houses on the nearby hills to dine.The first thing I noted as I approached Tabule was the renovation of the façade and entrance. There is a new glass door and a soaring two-story entrance. As I entered the dining room, I was advised Javier was working upstairs, in a new dining room christianed "Planta Alta". I walked up the stairs to Planta Alta to find a clean-lined room with leather chairs and picture windows overlooking the adjoining greens of the Club Campestre de Tijuana. Javier led my to a window table and we chatted as I reviewed the wine list. I selected an R. Urbina Chardonnay-Viognier, which was coolly elegant. Javier never missed a pour. Crusty French Bread is offered without an additional charge we see "infecting" so many San Diego restaurants of late. Because Tabule serves Sushi [I saw a man using his chopsticks incorrectly by "crossing" them while he attempted to pick up a piece] I always order fish. I ordered the Pescado Blanco "Tabule". They mistakenly brought me fish topped with shrimp, although I ordered the "Tabule" fish with tomatillo, mango and frijol negro. I didn't say anything since I like them both. As always at luxury restaurants in Tijuana, there was a lot of table hopping among the diners, since everyone seems to know everyone else. The Planta Alta room has breathed a welcome breath of fresh air into Tabule, catapulting it once again into the trendy Tijuana restaurant scene. Bienvenidos! read more

This place is a favorite of mine. The food is very straightforward. I will say the last time I visited was not really up to par. The salad was very small and short on avocado and cheese that made it delicious. The Rest of the meal was okay but we were able to leave the left overs on the table without a though. The service was not as elegant as I had experienced in the past. The waiters were fumbling and tho my Spanish is not great I never have an issue in a dining experience here. It was a Monday night so maybe that is why it was not as wonderful in the past but that shouldn't make a difference. The view of the golf course is fantastic and the decor is very elegant. I will return but one more evening like that will be the last visit. read more

I never give five stars. I promise. But yesterday while looking for somewhere to eat in nearby Paseo Chapultepec we realized that 60% of the locales there are still vacant! And my wife and I were in search of something tasty for our first date in months. We opted for Tabule thinking it had Arabic fare but were surprised to find a quaint, beautiful small niche with spectacular views of the adjacent golf course. We ordered as many dishes as we could, always to share. First, the bread is fresh and we were starving so we tried some nibbles with a unique garlic sauce our servers brought. Then we order the octopus and shrimp grilled on mesquite that is prepared with lime, paprika and perfectly cooked...quite a feat for octopus. Then we had some shrimp tacos on hard shell. Delicious but my wife didn't live them as the hard shell reminds her of her anti-bias for Taco Bell. Nevertheless they were exceptional. Then we had white fish on 'escolar' sauce. It was a mix of two dishes that our server recommended and it was perfect. The bite fish slab was probably 16 ounces of perfectly seared white fish, sitting on a bed of garlic rice with a red pesto sauce on top and garnished with the most strongly-tasting asparagus i've had so far. We closed with pecan and date tart crowned with real vanilla dairy-free ice cream! And coffee. Prices are high but reasonable and for both of us sharing fare was about $70 including tip. I was here last week and the service was horrible. They added two dishes in our check and they gave me a wine that was not in the menu with a really high price and then changed it again when I asked them to show me the price on the menu or in the system. The food was good but after being cheated and treated that way by the waiter and manager I will never come again. I was very disappointed. read more

The food and drinks are amazing! My skirt stake, the octopus, and the sushi is very highly recommended. The flavors are very tasty, and has a very distinguished taste. HOWEVER, the service was not that great. The waiters had an obvious uninterested attitude about their jobs; which is why I'm rating it three stars. Food really good but service not that great. Waiter kept on forgetting our basic request. Even after letting his supervisor know that our waiter was lagging his service it still didn't improve. Asked for the dessert menu and it never came through. read more

I have eaten at many restaurants in Tijuana and Rosarito and this is probably my favorite. Great atmosphere, nice view on the golf course, very clean and friendly service. The duck and ribeyes tacos are awesome and we always order the nahomi roll. Margararitas and cocktails are bomb. read more

One of our favorite restaurants in Tijuana. The food and the service is always amazing. The atmosphere is fun. Our favorites are the bone marrow sofa, duck tacos and the Sesame encrusted tuna. But our all-time favorite of favorites is there Ceviche with olives mango and capers read more
