Now, I don't usually think eggplant is da bomb but wow.....like wow. I actually crave this eggplant dish. This one is a must order! I was quite taken by their cocktails. If you prefer things less sweet, just let the server now. I found most of their concoctions on the sweet side which made this gal very happy. I had the Beirut With Passion made with bacaradi rum, malibu passion rum, fresh watermelon juice, passionfruit juice lime mint, sugar syrup. Really tempted to try making this at home. My entree was the Kefta dish that had two juicy skewers of ground mixed lamb and beef with onions, parsley, garlic and spices served with rice. Ate all of this! Personally I liked it better than the popular chicken skewers but that's just me. Another favourite dish for me was the dessert. What I got: Veal entree ($20.95) Pros: - Working in the hospital overnight means I get takeout quite often. This night was when Toronto has this huge wind storm that caused blackouts across parts of the city and even the hospital lights flickered for a second, though I didn't know what was going on outside until I saw the news (no windows where I work) - Unknowing of what was happening outside, I placed my nightly takeout order, and watching the news while eating, I have to give props to the food delivery person who brought my food over in a timely fashion despite the weather. - As for the food itself, I have to say the veal was very tender and filling, the entree also came with pita bread so it was definitely a large portion. - Though the entree was a bit on the expensive side for takeout, there's are wraps for ~$10 which isn't too bad. Cons: - I would suggest you replace the rice with all veggies in the order if you can. I love Middle Eastern food! I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while now, and I wish I tried it earlier! This restaurant is definitely one of my top favourite restaurants in the yonge/eg area. The food is amazing! We made a reservation online via their website (highly recommended, it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed). The servers were great and super attentive. They always paid attention to my water glass and ensured it was always full. We ordered 1 entree and 2 sides: kefta with rice, fried eggplant and falafel. The kefta was amazing! Every part of the dish perfectly complemented one another. The flavor of the meat was perfect and it was super moist! It came with grilled vegetables that tasted amazing with the meat and rice. This was definitely the highlight of the meal and I would order it again! The fried eggplant was good too but I personally found it too salty. My boyfriend on the other hand, didn't think it was salty. Next time I'd try something else instead of getting this again. However it's worth a try. The falafels are really good, they are not dry on the inside and are perfectly fried. The flavor of it is great! I should've ordered hummus with it, I think it would taste even better with hummus! Visited on a Tues night. Simple straight forward decor with friendly staff who are knowledgeable. Had the cold dish platter labneh (smooth and creamy), tabouleh, babaganoush. Large portions and very filling on its own even though we had it as an appetizer. I had meat kebabs which were tasty on rice and wife had eggplant vegetarian and a virgin mojito. This place is a real gem!! Four of us tried different dishes and appetizers and every single dish that we tried was absolutely delicious. Their eggplant appetizer is marinated with garlic and lemon and tasted so good also we tried baba ganush and hummus which came with fresh warm homemade bread and tasted so good. For the main course we got shrimp plate, felafel salad and akawi cheese and we were all happy. The only little negative thing to me was akawi cheese as their main dish which I think it's not worth it for $11 it might be a good choice for an appetizer for half a price but as a main dish it's not enough. our server was a wonderful pleasant gentleman. My wife and i were craving middle-eastern food and tabule certainly fot the bill. We ordered the Fatush salad and the Basterma with Labni to start. I loved the Fatush salad but found the Basterma (seasoned cured beef) a little too salty for my taste. For mains, we ordered the lamb chops and the eggplant. The presentation of both dishes was great but the lamb chops were the best part of the meal for me. And the rice that is served with the lamb chops was divine. The service was great and the waitress was attentive to our needs always willing to top up our water glasses. The ambiance of the place was nice and conducive to a nice date place. This location is their first original restaurant. It's a cozy place with delicious authentic middle eastern food. I went here for summerlicious for dinner. For the appetizer, I had the sampler plate with includes babaganoush, hummus, and very delicious tabule with a side of white and whole wheat pitas. The sampler plate was huge. Make sure you share with friends or else you'll be fully stuffed with this plate. For the second menu, I got the veal tenderloin with rice and grill vegetables. The server provided us with garlic sauce and hot sauce. The garlic sauce was super delicious with the veal. My veal was cooked medium rare and it was the perfect softness. For dessert, I got the balklava with ice cream. I wasn't too sure what the ice cream flavour was but it might have been butterscotch ice cream with baklava. Very sweet and good! I'll preface this review by saying that I got take out last week from here so I can't really comment on the dining in experience except for what I saw while waiting for my order. This restaurant looks small on the outside but it's pretty large inside. Already by 5:30pm the restaurant was about 3/4 packed. I was impressed that they had a lot of staff here so it didn't look like it would be a long wait for your food. While this place does takeout there really isn't any place to wait while getting your food. There is a bar in the middle of the restaurant but you seem to feel in the way with all the servers running around. It has those lovely Moroccan lights hanging from the ceiling and Middle Eastern music playing in the background - makes you want to get up and dance :) The staff were really nice to me - offered me water while I waited. I ordered the Kefta (2 lamb/beef skewers) with rice mixed with veggies and it comes with a side of pickled veggies. It was about $18 with tax. Pricey. I found the skewers to be more tough than I would have preferred and a little dry. The veggies in the rice - roasted peppers, eggplants added a nice touch to the rice which was nice and juicy (can you say juicy for rice??!). It comes with 2 pieces of pita bread - you can choose between white and whole wheat. Not sure if dining in would have resulted in a different experience. The portion was decent - enough for my dinner and for lunch the next day. The service is really friendly - everyone was polite and they even apologized for my order taking so long. The service was both rushed & slow all at once. Our server broke off twice while she was taking our order to serve another table, odd! The food was only good. We had three of their appetizers. The courliflour with tahini.(better than you'd think) The akkawi cheese ( melts in your mouth) And the haloumi salad (rocca leaves, soft balsamic, and 4 thick slices of haloumi) For the main meal we substituted our sides of rice with tabouli and fries (giant portions for side dish) I believe 1.5 additional cost but worth it I had the salmon on skewer: it was different but perhaps not my cup of tea. My friends and I have been trying to explore new places for food options, and we came upon to this Middle Eastern cuisine. I normally go to Villa Madina, when I crave for the parsley salad (Tabule). So I decided to try it in this restaurant, and it was alright, I like the one from Villa Madina better. However, my friends introduced me to Babaganuj and Labni, these two items were better than I expected. I ate so much of this with the warm pita they served. For my main course I ordered Kefta and it was pretty good, but it took pretty long. The environment in this restaurant was pretty dark, it was a nice place for date nights, but not really for someplace for a group of people to catch up. At Tabule, the food is delicious, the ambiance is cozy and the lighting is not for Instagram. That's exactly why I love it! As a vegetarian who avoids gluten and often dairy, I love it that Tabule has so many options. My favorites are the humus and falafel - with gluten-free fresh-baked pita bread! - as well as the Haloum salad and the eggplant entre. The mocktails are fun and hit the spot too. The best part though is that the restaurant is always packed and lively, yet it's just run-down and dark enough that the King West Instagram crowd is nowhere to be seen. Went to Tabule for supper with a coworker and it was a great experience! Location doesn't seem to be very middle-eastern with bare bones walls and these closely arranged packed tables that were somewhat closer than I was comfortable with. We opted for the terrace but it started raining... the service was just OK, with no extra warmth or delivery to make our first experience stand out. We went with their fattouch salad to share (ideal for 2 or 3) as well as a pair of beef and lamb plates. The fattouch was good but I'd definitely recommend them to easy off the acidity a little as it somewhat overwhelmed the salad. Their meat menu could also use some improvement as well and I would have totally paid more for a meat platter to have filet mignon, lamb, etc... so all the extra greens and rice was kind of pointless. The food in itself was absolutely delish! Loved the lamb and filet mignon, the rice was excellent as well. To compliment my meal I went with their Beirut Sangria and it was quite forgettable and I definitely wouldn't see myself ordering it again, despite being a huge sangria fan. For dessert we went with some Lebanese coffee to which we couldn't share and only came in individual portions? This is a first for me, usually there's a nice sized kettle we could pour a few times and enjoy our dessert instead of the espresso style we have. My absolute favourite Lebanese spot! The food at Tabule is fresh and absolutely delicious. The meat melts in your mouth and everything is flavoured and spiced to absolute perfection. The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful, perfect for a laid back date night..catch up with a friend..family dinner or after work social. The water vessels are super cool and the staff can be seen utilizing them like absolute pros...definitely adds to the authenticity of the place. I've been going to Tabule for a while but always ordered takeout. Finally, I got a chance to sit down inside with a group of friends for lunch. I'm faithful to the Falafel Entree ($14.95). Their falafel is crispy on the outside, moist/soft on the inside and flavourful. Even though I've had it so many times, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how yummy it is. It comes with mujaddara (rice/lentils with fried onion), grilled vegetables and hummus. I struggled because it was so filling, but also so good. Others at my table enjoyed their dishes too - falafel salad, vegetarian entree, chicken in a pita. The service was efficient even though we arrived right at the beginning of the lunch rush. The inside is dimly lit and a bit dated, but cozy all the same. There's a small patio area out front; if you decide to sit there, you'll be sitting right out on Yonge Street. This might not be the most sleek and trendy place but I'll definitely be back for their awesome food. read more

If you have tried many Mediterranean food, you'll find it just fine. It was two of us here for dinner. We got: Falafel, Arnabeet, Lahmeh, Kefta banadura Fauxjito: Habibi, from Beirut with passion The best part of the dinner was the drinks. I liked the combinations of different ingredients and how the taste turned out. The next best was Arnabeet. It's unhealthy and oily but tastes amazing. For the rest of our orders, I had tried a better version of them though. Falafel was too dry on the outside that you couldn't put a fork in them or keep them still on the plate to cut. Lahmeh was overcooked for how we asked it to be. Kefta was also so chewy and dry inside, but better with the tomato sauce. The fried onion on top of the rice was also not crispy and overdone. The restaurant vibe is cool though. Calm music and nice lighting. Small details like how they fill your cups with water or the dishes they serve coffee in are pleasant. You can enjoy several hours here with friends and family without any pressure as it is not so crowded even on Saturday evenings. Aside from the food, a bad experience for me that I would doubt to be back here: To pay for the table, it took a long time to bring us the check with a machine, and the waitress said there was an internet problem. I was also obviously unfamiliar with the machine to pay the tip as I'm new in Canada. After I tapped, she kindly showed me the machine to select an option and I pressed a default option like 1 for 15%. Apparently, it didn't go through or maybe there was an internet connection issue. The waitress who was all nice and friendly the whole night turned red and aggressive and said "you don't pay gratuity?!" I said I pressed the first option that you showed me, did I do something wrong? and then she was tense and said "No, it was not added". I was clearly waiting for her to guide me on how to redo that but instead, she was constantly whispering "that's ok, that's ok" in a tense tone while she was trying her best to push the receipt, the machine, and the check into my eyes to show that the tip was not added. She was clearly too angry, she didn't say goodbye and she didn't bring us a bag for our boxes as she was supposed to. All I want to say is that if it is really ok, why all of those passive-aggressive behaviors? if it was not, I would be happy if you could show me how to redo it as I clearly mentioned which option I'd pressed. And if it is THAT critical to you that you would ruin all the good experience you made for the customers for that, just add the mandatory gratuity to the menu and the check. read more

I ordered the chicken breast and my friend ordered the lamb & beef kebobs, both the dishes were great, tasty and very flavourful. The rice and vegetables served as the sides were very well flavoured, and the vegetables (especially the onions) were juicy and grilled beautifully. Hands down one of my favourite middle-eastern restaurants. I had heard great reviews for some time now and just had to check it out for myself! I was very impressed with their gluten-free options, specifically: gluten-free pita and gluten-free falafel. All of their dips were delicious - hummus, baba ganoush, tabule and labneh. Everything was rich with taste and perfectly done! The decor is fairly bare and it is a bit dark inside the restaurant, but you certainly aren't going for the atmosphere. You are going for the food. This is a place for lovers of middle eastern food! I also found it really cool how all of the waiters pour your water from so high above the cup. We made a reservation and got it for 9:15 PM. Food - The hummus was nice. The tabule salad was okay too. We ordered the regular one with bulgur, but waitress punched in the order for gluten free one with quinoa. For mains we ordered 1 vegetable entree and 1 tawuk (chicken entree) which we upgraded to have mujaddara as accompaniment instead of regular vermicelli rice which was a good choice. The vegetables were tad overcooked. They were kind of melting in the mouth; they were probably boiled before being grilled. In the chicken entree, some pieces were cooked well and some were under-cooked. Seemed like one skewer was grilled well and other was not. For drinks, we ordered one Kumquat mojito and 1 beer. They didn't have beer on tap, just cans and bottles. So, it was a bummer. The Kumquat mojito was very good. Service - Service was okay. We waited for a bit despite the reservation while they attended to others without reservation. The waitress botched botched up our order a bit by replacing regular Tabule salad with the gluten free one and she seemed very impatient as well. Probably she was having a bad day or maybe the restaurant was too busy. Didn't help our fine dining experience though. Location - It is coviniently located on the Yonge street between Eglington and Davisville stations, so a short walk from both.And we sat on the patio so it was great. Ambience - The ambience is great if you get to sit on the patio. Tip - They have half portions of all appetizers. They don't advertise it anywhere on the menu, but if you ask they'll server half portions which would allow you to try many different appetizers. Overall - There are many good Mediterranean restaurants on our list to try in Toronto, before we return. Nothing to rave about. Considering the hype and prices, it should not be very high in your bucket list. read more

We went to this restaurant because it offered a large selection of vegan dishes in their Summerlicious menu, as my spouse is vegan. Kudos to them to cater to vegans! The Combination Plate was my favorite dish. The falafel, hummus and babaganuj were flavorful, and it was a generous serving. The Kefta Kebab was nice; I believe the grilled vegetables served on the regular version pair better compared to the salad served in the Summerlicious version. The Knaffa Ashta served looked much worse compared to any photo of this dessert posted here on Yelp. Service was friendly and attentive. I`ll return, as I was impressed with the Combination Plate and I hope the overall food quality will be better when paying full price. read more
