Beautiful beach, but a little difficult to get down to. From PCH, you'll navigate through the houses to find the staircase leading down. Be prepared for A LOT of steps. About half of the section are ghost steps, so tread carefully. Once you're on the beach, it's a beautiful enclosed space, with a lifeguard watching over (during the summer months). There is a large rock patch in the middle to be mindful of. Water was gorgeous, but waves were pretty strong so I tried to stay close to shore. read more

Table Rock Beach is one of those super hidden beaches in Orange County. In fact, it is so hidden that you start to wonder "is this actually a private beach"? Almost all visitors are (1) young couples or (2) coming here for photoshoot sessions. [Parking]: No easy and direct parking access. Free 1-hour street parking or few public parking lots (e.g. Lot 20 on Seacove Dr) along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Additional free parking near north of the Table Rock Dr & PCH intersection. [Entrance]: The entrance to the beach is near south of the Table Rock Dr & PCH intersection. Visitors will see a "Table Rock" sign and the stairs should be on the left side. Follow the stair path to reach to the beach. Please note that the stair shares the lone entrance/exit for this beach and there's also no access for wheelchairs. [Vibe]: Lots of young couples relaxing with their beach blankets. The beach still got a small crowd at 7 PM during summer to see sunset. No restroom here and the beach had slightly more trashes than I had expected given how secluded it is. [Conclusion]: While this beach is not as popular as the adjacent Thousand Steps Beach, there's no question this is one of those ideal and secret dating spots for couples. Beautiful beach. Exceptionally rude lifeguard. Your job is to keep the public safe, enforce the rules, and keep a watchful eye. I was a lifeguard for many years in the past so I get the frustration when people do not listen to rules.BUT this was not the case with our family. When a mom and her daughter have a safety question on their first trip to the beach, why not just answer the question and provide the information instead of acting condescending and rude. The only thing that was ugly about this beach was this specific lifeguards attitude. We got married on this beach and it was perfect! Park on Eagle Rock Way and then walk across the street to the beach entrance. You have to walk down quite a few steps, so be prepared. They start out as cement and transition into wood. It's doable in a wedding dress and flip flops :) The water can be a bit dangerous in the area, so we stayed on the beach (plus we wanted to keep our clothes nice for photos). They had to close beach down for a while because some huge rocks fell. Luckily no one was hurt. It's a beautiful beach and we picked the perfect place to get married! Such a beautiful, secluded beach! Multiple access stairs! Visited on a holiday weekend, and it still wasn't too busy. It does require a walk down extremely steep stairs, which are lined with beautiful greenery and flowers, might be difficult with small children or anyone who is unable to climb both down and back up. The water was clear and blue, the beach was very clean, and the waves weren't terrible with some small calmer pools that were great for children to play without concern of the pull of waves. Surrounded by beautiful, steep cliffs. 2 small lifeguard stations on the beach as well! Parking was the most difficult part, you can't park in the small side streets adjacent to beach access. This beach brought me right back to the 1960s. Okay, I wasn't alive in the '60s, but I've seen the movies, and it feels like Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello are going to come right around the bend singing some sort of Beach Blanket Bingo song while pretending to ride waves on a stationary surfboard on the sand. Then some brightly colored convertible Volkswagen bug (likely orange) rolls right up on the sand with a bunch of young folks in bikinis and swim trunks not sitting in their seats. Beautiful beach but was completely ruined by the most rude & incompetent lifeguard (working 08/29) I've ever encountered. I've never been so offended & uncomfortable in my life. The beach was completely empty, maybe she was bored but she came up to us multiple times with a horrible attitude. They also apparently have a stupid rule that makes no sense, and is not posted anywhere, that dogs are not allowed on the beach between the hours of 11am & 6pm until after Labor Day. For starters, theres no restrooms here. But don't let that stop you from visiting this gorgeous beach. Easy to miss, Table Rock is located right off the main road in a residential area. A long half cement half wooden stairway leads you down to a massive, tall concave rock wall that envelopes the ocean. There's climbable rock mounds on the north and south ends. And a smaller rock wall great for picture taking in the middle. If you're a climber just use caution because its slippery and the strong waves are quick and unforgiving. If you don't mind the numerous photographers, sunset is a great time to go! I usually park on Eagle Rock street but there's more free parking along PCH. If you park across the street, proceed slowly in the cross walk. The cars usually have a hard time seeing people before they are able to slow down. So don't assume that drivers see you! I actually found this place on accident. I was suppose to go to treasure island but we got off the wrong stop so we just decided to just find out what's down there. And we found a beautiful beach. There's really nice tide pools down there and also there's a beautiful cave on the other side of the rock. But you gotta swim out to to get in the other side. The only problem is the stairs to get down there. It's kind of scary if your afraid of heights which I am. It's all for the adventure though and I approve. read more

One of my favorite beaches in Laguna has always been Table Rock because of the awesome beach atmosphere it provides for the forever summer of fun times in the sandy sand! Table Rock might be missed if your speeding down Pacific Coast Highway as it comes up very quickly just look for the crosswalk with the small street sign that says Table Rock on it and you will have found the start of the path! Parking is what it is for Laguna so find a place on the street above the beach I've usually found spots on PCH kinda quickly so definitely seek that out! Once your done with the car scenario head down the road that looks like it might be someone's driveway and stay to the left as you will then see a bunch of stairs that will lead you down to the sandy beach shore of waves and sun! The beach is like almost tucked away in a cove below some huge cliffs making it just an all around awesome view in every direction you look! When the tides are lower you can venture out on what is the Table Rock rock area to catch an awesome glimpse of some of the ocean life as well as seeing a few waves crash over the rocks in front of you to provide just a mellow and all around peaceful environment that is sure to make anyone smile and enjoy the awesome scenery that is the Table Rock! There are also a few other places on the far side of the beach that you can visit when the tide is lower I'm not going to go into detail about it because you can find that part for yourself but I will say it's almost like a cave type of environment that's just totally awesome so think of it like a search for your pirate treasure and your totally bound to find something really cool! Really pretty beach, with striking rocks, tidepools, and some beautiful palm trees and tropical foliage on the cliffs behind us. There is a lifeguard, but no bathrooms. It's just north of Thousand Steps beach, and when the tide is low (and the cave is "open"), you can go through the Cave over to Thousand Steps. Not quite as many steps to get here, and not quite as steep, but there's still quite a few. Totally worth it, though. We loved swimming and body-surfing here, although the waves, like many of the beaches we visited, were pretty rough. Not many little kids here, but it was great for us. read more

This is by far one of my favorite beaches secluded private and the water is so clean here the waves can get a bit crazy but on a good day it's a very nice beach to swim at most days are not that packed unless on weekends definitely get ready to walk up a few flight of stairs about three. Came here for the first time today and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were barely any people here and the scenery was lovely. The entrance is on Eagle Rock Way so just park on the street and walk in. Depending on if it's high or low tide determine what the scene looks like. Apparently when the tide is low you can move around the rocks and access 1000 steps beach. The next time I come here I will bring a book and relax and enjoy the waves splashing on the shore. FYI when the tide comes in the waves, especially on the right side, generate a huge splash. So keep that in mind if you have a camera with you. Also there is also no restroom. I would definitely recommend everyone check this place out. read more

Things you should know: 1) Take care you find the right staircase because if you pass it and walk down the stairs further on you WILL be at a Gay Beach. 2) The COPS always roll out here from the top of the stair case. People used to smoke and drink freely here but not anymore. Cops will sit at the stairs and find people to bust so don't take any chances. Someone gets a MIP or an alcohol on the beach ticket every time I come and ruins the vibe for everyone. The lifeguards WILL call the cops on you if they see you. They are not your friend either. 3) There is a very old skinny man that wears a banana hammock and weighs 90 pounds. He is a gentle old soul who never goes in the water due to some paranoia about bacteria in the water. Everyone loves him and he is harmless. In fact, if I go and don't see him I get a little sad. 4) The waves on the left side are treacherous. Like a good soccer player, they will sweep the leg. Be careful or swim out past the break. 5) The lifeguards will yell at you if you try to climb over the rock to the secret cove beach next door. You can ignore them. 6) You can swim around the rock to the secret beach or climb the rocks and get yelled at, either way it's cool to go over there at least once. 7) This is a beach for the young and beautiful. OH YEAH!!!! private beach that many people do not know, which is awesome because it will not be overly crowded. it is a bit difficult to get there, you would need to find parking on the street, or pay the meter. The street name is Eagle rock rd. To get there you would need to walk towards the beach and that street will turn into table rock rd. You will come face to face into some residential area and walk down many stair. The view from there is amazing, especially with the waves hit the rocks and make a big splash is just amazing to see it. read more

When I go to the beach, I want to see as few people as possible and deal with the least amount of hassle. I just wanna hear some waves and relax in the sun with my boo. Also, nothing like a good swim in the ocean to clear your senses. Having never been in the Laguna Beach area, all I had to go on was reviews and photos. I made the right choice by going to Table Rock. Driving past all the chaos of the Main Beach and 1000 steps, I found myself rewarded with a secluded beach that had few people and awesome scenery. The ocean was very strong and intense at high tide but it still made for a fun swim. The sand was a little coarse but I mean, it's a beach. I just loved being able to walk down a secluded set of stairs off the PCH and be at an amazing beach, letting the troubles of SoCal traffic and stress of work slide away into the tides. Getting there takes walking down Table Rock drive and going down the stairs to the left when you reach the private drive gate. Can't miss it. Parking: can be a bit tricky but there's street parking on the other side of the PCH. Look for signage to not get ticketed. No bathrooms or wash off stations so be aware. There are lifeguard and they are strict about their no glass bottles rule so watch out for that read more

Another hidden gem along the coast! I love this beach, it's so secluded. There's wooden stairs towards the beach and it has tons of beautiful flowers. Clear water, clean beach. Tidepools! Other than that, parking can be difficult. Park along Coast Hwy or anywhere in the residential area. After looking online for beaches to check out around OC, I decided to take my friend and I here. I have absolutely no regrets and it's currently my favorite beach. I like how secluded it is, how clear the water is, and how beautiful/clean this beach is. It did get a little bit crowded as the afternoon approached, but that was sort of expected given it's summer and it was the weekend. There were a couple of lifeguards and they were very attentive. They didn't allow anyone to climb up to the table rock or over the rock to the secret cove. If you're looking to do any of those, I recommend going after hours. Shhhh. Don't tell too many people about this little cove of paradise! ; ) Follow the great directions/parking already posted - very easy. Steps are a great workout on the way up! *The lifeguard at Table Rock Beach is consistently monitoring the cliff divers. One really should respect the danger of the rocks as well as the severe ocean floor drop off which happens very quickly from shore. (Not recommended for children - far safer & better designed beaches in Laguna and OC for families.) *The OC police have a presence especially on Fridays and the weekend. A fun hidden beach in Laguna that requires less of a workout than Thousand Steps. Lots of wildlife here from stingrays to starfish! Local kids like to jump from the rocks on the north end which is beyond me as there are rocks jutting out at sea level. It's also fun to swim around the bend on the south side to the secret cove, which at low tide includes a tunnel to Thousand Steps. read more

Two young people died on this beach in the last 8 days. One body was found in the surf the next day. Sadly this is not unusual. People die or are airlifted out from this and nearby beaches every week during summer. Please consider the other posts that contain warnings about the water. However I will say the waves were too crazy for our kids to get in the water so if you're looking to do some swimming with your kids maybe pick another beach. i love this beach. its super hidden so you might have a hard time finding in on PCH. its located a few blocks down from the PCH X 133 freeway. its located on the cross streets of pch and eagle rock way. i really wanted to be greedy like the grinch and not reveal the location, but this beach is too awesome for me not to share. so your welcome in advance. :) you have to take a flight of stairs down to the beach. be warned, for someone who hates cardio workouts at the gym, the stairs will kill you. i almost died after getting down to the beach. and lets not talk about going up. T_T. instant death. i saw my life flash before my eyes looking at the flight of stairs from the bottom. this beach has a life guard and plenty of tide pools for you to go explore on. be careful around the rocks, because they are sharp and slippery. and another thing i noticed is that this beach has rougher sands than other beaches. there's a secret cave on the other side, but i think you can only get there during low tide. if you are looking for a nice beach where's its not a clusterfuck of people on the weekends, come check this place out. PS: after writing this review, i do realize that i might have turned table rock beach into another laguna beach where's crowded with people. so i'mma lie and say that i saw toilet paper and shit floating around in table rock beach's water. Two people have died here in the last two weeks. There is a strong, dangerous undertow here that may get inexperienced swimmers into trouble depending on the conditions. If you're thinking about coming here, especially with poor swimmers or children, please think again. People might see the photos on social media and think it's a state beach with public bathrooms and plenty of parking. They would be wrong. There are no restrooms and parking is a challenge, as is the congestion and dangerous traffic conditions on a weekend. In my opinion, the city needs to do a better job of educating the public about the very real dangers here, probably in at least more than one language and put this information on their tourism site just as many other cities do when there's a part of their city that has a dangerous area. This is my favorite hidden beach that we found when we lived in Laguna beach for 2 months. I almost didn't want to write a review for it so it could keep hidden and private. This is more then just a beach but a great adventure! This beach is quite hidden and you have to take a long staircase of greens and fushsia flower to get down to the beach. In the middle of this small little bay, there is a coral live reef that you can explorer, little hermet crab, or mini crabs, sometime trapped fish, starfish and anemone. I even saw baby seal there like 3 times. It's a fun little Bay. The water is jade like crystal clear but the waves are very choppy and strong at times and some days are calmer. The waves does get unpredictable that my phone got splashed and killed by it, and a friend of mine's phone got swallowed by it after dropping on the sand in seconds. So you gotta becareful with it, especially there aren't usually lifeguard on duty. When you walk deeper into the beach, there is a little cliff that you can climb, where some kids do their cliff diving, you can get down to a even smaller Bay in low tide (make sure you leave before the high tides come if you do not wish to swim around the cliff). There is exit from that stretch other than swimming out or if you hike further inwards going thru the cave you can hike to a much bigger beach with only private access from the home owners above. And even more, you can keep walking and climb through the rocks and arrived thousand steps beach!! It's a really fun beach hike, if you want somethibg more than just to lay down and get tanned. (Make sure to do this in low tide, or you might get stuck or splashed ) read more

Been here many times for years now and I absolutely love it here but lately there's too make kids that figured this place out and it's not as fun as it used to be. Good thing I love to swim and go a mile deep and everyone looks at me like wtf Is that guy doing blah blah he can die ... No it will never happen.... Awesome beach, with a great view. Only downside are the dick lifeguards that get mad at you for cliff jumping. My friends and I jumped once, and were threatened by the lifeguards of getting a ticket. I'll definitely be going back again and cliff jumping. read more

Beautiful beach!!! LOTS of stairs to get to it but worth the views!!! Found free parking on a side street across the Pacific coast hwy at Laguna Beach dental on 5th Ave/coast hwy! Don't go down any side street make sure it says Beach access and go to either seacliff drive or Table Rock Drive! Otherwise you're going down pretty steep hills into neighborhoods that don't go to the beach and going then back up the hill!! Lifeguards are there on the beach but no restrooms!
