An absolutely beautiful beach! Living in LA, I've never seen water so blue in the US, and only two hours away! WIth the beautiful rocks, sand, and views, I felt like I was on vacation. It is also very clean. A bit secluded and great for a beach picnic and to take photos. Be prepared to walk a lot of steep steps to get down to the beach and parking is hard to find.

I could wake up to that view each and every day!!! The beach is beautiful, the water is clear, the few people that go makes it very enticing to walk down all the stairs to the beach. I didn't and I may not because of my age and physical abilities. But all things are possible. My friend that lives there is such the perfect host as to show me much more than I expected.

This is a truly special place. Beautifully secluded beach with breathtaking views. We were also able to spot a whale with the help of a passing whale watching tour.

This beach is amongst my favorite beaches to lounge. Best times to go is 2pm to 4. People start clearing out around that time. The water perfect

Such a beautiful, secluded beach! Multiple access stairs! Visited on a holiday weekend, and it still wasn't too busy. It does require a walk down extremely steep stairs, which are lined with beautiful greenery and flowers, might be difficult with small children or anyone who is unable to climb both down and back up. The water was clear and blue, the beach was very clean, and the waves weren't terrible with some small calmer pools that were great for children to play without concern of the pull of waves. Surrounded by beautiful, steep cliffs. 2 small lifeguard stations on the beach as well! Parking was the most difficult part, you can't park in the small side streets adjacent to beach access. You have to park up on the main strip or on the upper side streets and cross! Worth the trip and parking difficulty!

We got married on this beach and it was perfect! Park on Eagle Rock Way and then walk across the street to the beach entrance. You have to walk down quite a few steps, so be prepared. They start out as cement and transition into wood. It's doable in a wedding dress and flip flops :) The water can be a bit dangerous in the area, so we stayed on the beach (plus we wanted to keep our clothes nice for photos). They had to close beach down for a while because some huge rocks fell. Luckily no one was hurt. It's a beautiful beach and we picked the perfect place to get married! Just be careful and watch for falling rocks.

This beach brought me right back to the 1960s. Okay, I wasn't alive in the '60s, but I've seen the movies, and it feels like Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello are going to come right around the bend singing some sort of Beach Blanket Bingo song while pretending to ride waves on a stationary surfboard on the sand. Then some brightly colored convertible Volkswagen bug (likely orange) rolls right up on the sand with a bunch of young folks in bikinis and swim trunks not sitting in their seats. It's an adorable beach. Quaint, beautiful, and clean. Thank you visitors of Laguna Beach for keeping it that way!

TABLE ROCK BEACH, Laguna Beach, CA! Check it Out! One of my Favorite Sandy Beaches, Tucked Away in a Beautiful Cove!

A SECRET HIDDEN COVE, Within a Cove & A Very Special PARADISE Beach Spot... TABLE ROCK BEACH, Laguna Beach, California! My Hubby & I have been coming back to this Special Beach, for many years! Once you make it down the steps, it literally feels like a Hidden Private Beach! And the Locals, know this Beach Well! I nicknamed it "REBEL Beach", lol, because pretty much, anything goes here, and you'll normally find a Cool Eclectic Beach Crowd! If your curious, swim around the Bend, and you'll find a Cool Secondary SECRET Small Cove! And at Low Tide, there is a Tunnel (it's within the Cliff that has that Huge House on the edge), and this passage, takes you to another Fabulous Spot, called Thousand Steps Beach! There is 1 Lifeguard on Duty here during the Sunshine Months! And just a few things to know before you go... Be forewarned, there is a Strong Undertow at this Beach! If you play in the Waves, be aware, this Beach's Ocean Floor has a Steep drop off, creating, these Huge, Fun Size Big Waves, that have tremendous Push & Pull! If you are not a Strong Swimmer, you can easily, find yourself, getting Wiped Out by these Crashing Waves! In my opinion, it's definitely not safe for small children, especially without supervision! In Addition, TABLE ROCK BEACH has some Really Awesome Tide Pools! There are Very Cool Look Out, Cliffs on either side, Too! Not to mention, there are no Restrooms!

Cool house on the rocks.

For starters, theres no restrooms here. But don't let that stop you from visiting this gorgeous beach. Easy to miss, Table Rock is located right off the main road in a residential area. A long half cement half wooden stairway leads you down to a massive, tall concave rock wall that envelopes the ocean. There's climbable rock mounds on the north and south ends. And a smaller rock wall great for picture taking in the middle. If you're a climber just use caution because its slippery and the strong waves are quick and unforgiving. If you don't mind the numerous photographers, sunset is a great time to go! I usually park on Eagle Rock street but there's more free parking along PCH. If you park across the street, proceed slowly in the cross walk. The cars usually have a hard time seeing people before they are able to slow down. So don't assume that drivers see you! Address: Intersection of PCH & Eagle Rock

I actually found this place on accident. I was suppose to go to treasure island but we got off the wrong stop so we just decided to just find out what's down there. And we found a beautiful beach. There's really nice tide pools down there and also there's a beautiful cave on the other side of the rock. But you gotta swim out to to get in the other side. The only problem is the stairs to get down there. It's kind of scary if your afraid of heights which I am. It's all for the adventure though and I approve.

Cali January sky!

One of my favorite beaches in Laguna has always been Table Rock because of the awesome beach atmosphere it provides for the forever summer of fun times in the sandy sand! Table Rock might be missed if your speeding down Pacific Coast Highway as it comes up very quickly just look for the crosswalk with the small street sign that says Table Rock on it and you will have found the start of the path! Parking is what it is for Laguna so find a place on the street above the beach I've usually found spots on PCH kinda quickly so definitely seek that out! Once your done with the car scenario head down the road that looks like it might be someone's driveway and stay to the left as you will then see a bunch of stairs that will lead you down to the sandy beach shore of waves and sun! The beach is like almost tucked away in a cove below some huge cliffs making it just an all around awesome view in every direction you look! When the tides are lower you can venture out on what is the Table Rock rock area to catch an awesome glimpse of some of the ocean life as well as seeing a few waves crash over the rocks in front of you to provide just a mellow and all around peaceful environment that is sure to make anyone smile and enjoy the awesome scenery that is the Table Rock! There are also a few other places on the far side of the beach that you can visit when the tide is lower I'm not going to go into detail about it because you can find that part for yourself but I will say it's almost like a cave type of environment that's just totally awesome so think of it like a search for your pirate treasure and your totally bound to find something really cool! Overall an awesome beach with radical views you can't go wrong so enjoy forever summer!

Table Rock Beach is definitely one of my favorite beaches in OC. In Laguna Beach, there are many small beaches that are similar: quiet, small, and clean. However, what makes this one my favorite is how secluded it feels. It's a great place for taking pictures, and therefore there are quite a few people there doing photoshoots, so be prepared for that.

Lots of stairs

Really pretty beach, with striking rocks, tidepools, and some beautiful palm trees and tropical foliage on the cliffs behind us. There is a lifeguard, but no bathrooms. It's just north of Thousand Steps beach, and when the tide is low (and the cave is "open"), you can go through the Cave over to Thousand Steps. Not quite as many steps to get here, and not quite as steep, but there's still quite a few. Totally worth it, though. We loved swimming and body-surfing here, although the waves, like many of the beaches we visited, were pretty rough. Not many little kids here, but it was great for us.

Ask the Community - Table Rock Beach

Can I bring my dog for a walk here? Thanks!

Depends: "Dogs are not permitted on the beach between 9am and 6pm from June 15th -September 10th, dogs not allowed off leash at any time" there's a sign at the front of the beach stating this.

Are there bathrooms?

No bathrooms here

Does this beach have a place to rinse off?

Unfortunately, no

Does anyone know if a permit is required for photography? Nothing crazy, no overwhelming gear, simple for the most part.

No, you don't.

Is this a romantic place for a evening picnic?

We went on a Monday and it was pretty busy lots of college-aged people, maybe even some high schoolers, but the beach itself still felt pretty secluded, and there were hardly any kids around maybe like a handful of them. It was overcast when we went, which actually made it perfect, not too hot and super comfortable. Parking is street parking only, just make sure to read the signs carefully. Once you head down, you'll find restrooms and showers right at the bottom of the stairs, which is super convenient. The restroom is clean earlier in the day (before noon), but like most beach spots, it gets a bit wet as the day goes on. There's plenty of space to set up and relax. One thing to watch out for--seagulls! They will go after your food, so definitely cover it with towels if you're hopping in the water. The stairs themselves are pretty narrow, and people usually stick to one side going down and the other going up, so just be mindful and take your time, they tend to also get wet as the day goes on so it's a little slippery.

Still, the stairs are steep, so caution is needed both going down and coming back up. After spending the day at the beach, that climb somehow feels like 2,000+ steps and hits way harder than expected, so it's best to pace yourself. The beach itself is nice, calming, and clean, which makes the effort worth it. It's a great spot to relax once you're finally down there. Pro tip: pack light. If you bring every single beach "necessity," you will regret it on the way back up. I'm giving this place 4 stars, and the main reason it's not 5 is the parking situation. Parking is honestly horrifying. Parking lot is limited, and street parking is competitive, and mildly stressful before you even touch the steps. Amazing beach, great vibes, killer workout... just come prepared and patient.

[Where is the beach]: Use the pin on Yelp's map as the guidance as the pin on the Google Map misled our party to a completely different beach. This hidden beach has two entrance - one via Dumond Dr (116 Dumond Dr) and one near the intersection of Victoria Dr & Sunset Terrace (2703 Victoria Dr). Please note that the entrance via Dumond Dr is under construction so it's easier to enter by taking the stairways near 2703 Victoria Dr. [Parking]: There's a street sign telling visitors to park on PCH and not residential streets. Unfortunately all parking on PCH is street parking only and our party got a bit lucky finding a spot near The Drake (2894 S Coast Hwy) - fall season so less crowd. [Dogs]: Dogs are allowed BEFORE 9:00 AM and AFTER 6:00 PM from June 15 - September 10. Dogs are allowed during regular beach hours from September 11 - June 14. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. [What to see]: Unlike other beaches in Orange County, there's actually a structure called the Pirate Tower and apparently it was built in 1926 for the family of William E. Brown (a state senator representing California's 37th district). [Conclusion]: I personally still prefer Table Rock Beach a bit better than Victoria Beach due to slightly easier parking, easier to navigate, and prettier beach, but the pirate tower is certainly unique.
