My two Paint horses are extremely happy at Table Mountain Ranch! Between getting fed four--YES FOUR--times a day and turnout in the 'big pens' they are happy campers. They both look healthy and fit. Water buckets are always full, and get cleaned daily. They haven't seen this type of care since, well...ever. Riding out back up North Table Mountain is very enjoyable. There isn't even a road to cross before you're right on the trail. We're having fun exploring, and we love TMR! Nice indoor arena, three outdoor arenas (one dressage), round pens, small cross-country course, and trails. What else could you ask for? read more

A few years ago I shifted over to Table Mountain Ranch to continue my English Training with Rachel Henley. Between Fairmount, where I get training in Western and Table Mountain, where I get worked in English, there's a nice balance of training styles and horses. Rachel's got a background in both, and a nice selection of horses to work you on. In addition you can come in your off time if she has a horse available and ride on your own to practice, which is a nice feature. I appreciate Rachel's steady clear style, where she picks an area to concentrate on and that gets the full attention. She knows to trust me to continue to work on my own. I also value that I can bring my own tack if I want to go bareback saddlepad. The folks at this stable knows that I will stay longer to help clean up the arena when others don't clean up their horses' droppings, and I also take the time to make sure all tack is put where it belongs. That also means that the tacking area is cleaned of horse "emanations" which they all seem to save for when we're taking everything off for the class. Bless 'em. While I don't own or lease, any time I ride, that's my horse- and everything about it is my responsibility, from ensuring its safety to making sure I clean up behind it. There are great tack rooms, the indoor facility makes for superb events and you can ride all year. Sure you have to share Table Mountain with bikers, hikers and walkers, but this is Colorado. I recommend Rachel as a trainer, and there other specialized trainers out here as well. read more

I love this barn!! Awesome trainers that work together, fair pricing, good people. Facilities are fabulous- arenas are large and well maintained, trails right outside the door, the staff works hard. The horses are all sleek and happy. I've been in a mis-managed barn before, and moving my horse here was the best decision. He is happy, and I am too! read more

This barn has so much potential, I can't figure out why they can't keep a good manager here. We're on the second manager since moving here in January ,2012. Really liked the first, second one .... Not so much. Current manager is so intent on making so many stupid and unnecessary rules, that it is no longer any fun to spend time out here. It would be nice if she worried half as much about putting a perimeter fence around the property or getting things repaired, If your horse gets out, you stand a chance of it getting out on the street. This place needs someone with some ambition, I never see this woman do anything but stroll around and give orders.Too much work needs done to bring this place back to life. This place needs a manager, not a mother. Not the worst, but not the best facility around. read more

I board my horse here in one of their pastures. Things have been improving since I first arrived about a year ago. The manager really does try to do a good job. She is friendly and approachable. The facilities are really nice. There's a great indoor arena and a large outdoor arena. I also love that you can ride up Table Mountain straight from the property. I like that I can store my tack and groom in the indoor heated stable even though I'm a pasture boarder. The trainers and barn staff have been nothing but friendly and courteous. I am currently training with their new hunter jumper trainer Michelle Plonus. I really love her teaching style and leave each lesson feeling like I've learned something new. read more

This facility has definitely seen better days, although there is lots of potential remaining - if only someone would invest the time/money into restoring it. My horse was constantly getting little (and occasionally not so little) injuries while in her stall due to things like loose nails, sharp hidden corners, etc. Each time I thought I'd inspected every inch of every surface, and then it would happen again. The barn is old and a bit run down, although I loved that the stall had an outdoor run attached that was opened in the AM and closed again at night. Also, they fed plenty of good hay, so she was pretty much always munching on it. They also happily accommodated us in feeding our twice daily Smartpaks, I believe I was the only person there who had and requested them. Also, the manager at the time was kind enough to let me borrow a trailer to go pick up my horse in Fort Collins for free, which was awesome of her. The barn/arenas are open each night until 9pm, which is great if your free time is mostly after work - and after about 7:00, nobody else is around but the cats, which was great! There is a hot/cold wash rack, a couple bathrooms on the premises which work (but are NOT fancy), and the multiple tack rooms are big enough, though there aren't individual lockers. The indoor is nice, but sort of small - definitely not a great space for jumping, though there is a large outdoor arena usually set with a full course AND a basic little x-country track with several jumps to school over, which was really fun! The other complaints about the poor management are not surprising. While I was there, the manager was very nice and tried to be accommodating, but nothing ever got done/repaired, and it was my opinion that she didn't treat the staff (barn crew, etc) very fairly. Those 2-3 guys worked their butts off, and there never seemed to be enough of them to allow them any days off. That was awhile ago, though, and I know that the management has changed since then- I hope that situation has also changed! Word is, that TMR has always had problems with finding good managers, I don't know why. The resident trainers have good reputations, as far as I've heard, though I wasn't affiliated with any of them. They host a few informal shows now and then which are well-organized, fun, and draw a good sized group of riders. Other than the place needing some major renovations and TLC, I had an overall good experience boarding there. Side note: the board for an inside stall was pretty pricey for what you get, facility-wise. It was $700 a month for a barn stall w/ a run, but I paid for a full year at once, so they discounted it to $600/month. Not sure if rates have changed. I lived five minutes away, or else I'd have definitely spent that amount to board at a newer barn... read more

Great place to learn how to ride any discipline. The instructors are very good and I was impressed with all the boarders and workers.

Such a clean, well maintained facility right next to trail riding at Table MTN, and the best trainers

Understanding how both a business must operate while keeping staff, clients' and visitors' needs met is something many folks cannot comprehend. Now match the ability to understand that and actually be able to successfully execute the plans necessary to keep things moving and you have a great manager! That brings us to TMR's current manager, Sherl, who does an excellent job keeping things together and making improvements while being mindful of safe and respectful behavior; not to mention the health of the herd. A well-run barn and friendly, helpful staff make this an excellent place to board your family members who can't sleep at home (our horses :-) And to the commenter below wanting to put up a perimeter fence and pointing fingers, I give you a fine example of why humanity has a horrible time communicating: your attitude. Put up a perimeter fence? The West was already destroyed by barbed wire with folks who thought like you. Listen, if you are a horse where are you likely to go if you escape: in the middle of the street or to the hay so you can graze? I'm not saying an accident could never happen, but you want to continue to fence the West, when it should be an open beautiful expanse, not marred by people like you! And clearly, please refer to my first sentence regarding your management opinions. You should look deep at yourself before pointing fingers or come out and help to create a place you want instead of complaining. read more

The barn its self has potential to be a wonderful property but, due to it's management or lack there of the barn has consistently gone down hill over the last 6 years. The property is poorly kept with safety hazards constantly ignored by the manger, water tanks are often found completely iced over in the winter, and they seem to have a problem feeding the right hay and grain or the correct amount. I kept my horse here for years as this is where my trainer ran her business from and that was the only thing keeping me there. The manager is rude, does not like being confronted on her mistakes, and is unwilling to take responsibility for her own actions. She is quick to make your stay there very unwelcoming if you question her judgment or any of her staff. Even if it is a safety concern for the horses or other boarders. Police have been called out to the property multiple times due to her "confiscating" boarders tack and other personal belongings when a conflict occurs. (Personal experience) even though all of my belongings were returned (police mandated) yet she still believed she had every legal right to take my personal property as she was unaware of what is stated in her own contract, I HAD NOT breached our contract and this is why she was made to return my personal property. It's sad that they can't get a better, more caring manger. With that being said the owner of the barn lives out of state and could really care less about the property and his clients, he is really only concerned if the the property is building in equity or not. All of this is really a shame as there are some wonderful trailers there but due to the managers attitude, lack of effort, and lack of people skills, and consistent lack of ambition to do what is needed I will never spend another cent at this facility. Choose where you keep your horse wisely there are higher quality barns in there area with lower rates. read more

I have been boarding at this barn for almost a year. It had been badly mismanaged prior and it has taken time to recuperate. The current manager, trainers and barn crew are outstanding. They all truly care about the horses and the boarders. They have made vast improvements to the property and continue to move forward with their ideas. New fencing, new footing in the arena, repairs to things that were in dire need of such, a ground crew that goes above and beyond and does it with a smile. Repairs and upgrades are being made on a daily basis. Hay quality is fantastic. This was once the premier barn in the area and with all the improvements being made it will once again live up to that title. Has a marvelous indoor, huge outdoor arena, dressage arena and immediate access to trail riding on Table Mountain. Can't wait to see what happens next. Highly recommend this facility. read more

I have been going to TMR for the past 7 months because my dressage trainer, Cassandra DiPentino had been hired there. I am amazed every time I go out at the changes they have been making to improve the place. The manager has been making huge strides to bring back the "glory days" of this place. While I don't board my horse there (because I can keep her at home), I know several people who do. And, they are thrilled with the care and attention their equine friends receive there. I am looking forward to having such a great place to ride this winter as they have been very diligent about improving the footing of both the indoor and outdoor arenas. Another great thing about TMR is that the trainers of each discipline really seem to get along and help each other out. I have been to some places where it is a "dog eat dog" atmosphere between trainers and it can be uncomfortable. Also, unlike some barns, the management really wants the trainers to succeed and are very open to people hauling in to have lessons with those trainers. I love this place! read more
