    T-19 Menus

Table 19 is an oasis. Located downtown in the newly reopened Pere Marquette, it is more than just a hotel restaurant. The decor is upscale without being ostentatious or gaudy. It is just past the hotel bar, which in itself looks like a destination (and will be soon). The servers were attentive and polite. The menu is small, so hopefully they will change it seasonally. Their signature cocktails were good, just slight variations on established drinks. The calamari app was good, just a little small (not enough rings). Our entrees were delicious. Desert was also worth eating after being full. Too much too drink, too much to eat? Stay at the Marquette. Valet parking will make the dinner truly feel first class. Eat at Table 19. Stay at PM. Maybe enjoy the bar for drinks and small plates.

    Miso Soup - No taste

    1. It's Peoria IL 2. It is a higher end Marriott property The menu at first gives you very good vibes and some excitement right off the bat. Being a summer night and looking to start a business trip off healthy I went for the Miso Soup, Asparagus Salad and the Seared Tuna. Miso Soup - take it off the menu. It's tasteless, the form doesn't work for the bowl and whatever flavor that are there don't meld weld together at all. Asparagus Salad - potential is the main word here. The asparagus itself was very fresh and tender but again the chef was afraid to add some flavor... Even a bit of salt. Throw some of that Meyer Lemon and some salt on top and you have a great fresh summer dish. Seared Tuna - best thing I had. Not afraid to add some flavored sauce and salt! I've had tuna a hundred times and thus was a 7.5 out of 10. Service - good but if the dinner hours say 5pm and I'm eating at the bar, please don't perform the orange juicing or floor mopping during my meal. I think the chef needs to make all of his dishes and taste them again. The space speaks higher end but the menu turned out to be an 'almost' type of experience. Pricing correlates to the space but the food needs to catch up.

NY strip, Mac n cheese, and Brussel sprouts.

The initial impression was not great. The hostess' demeanor did not match restaurant's reputation. She was gruff and messy. The ambiance of the place is no different than any of the dozens of hotel restaurants I have dined in during my travels. Our server was Jessica. She is awesome. I appreciate that she was honest about what she had tried and didn't just recommend something because the chef said to. Apps: Calamari. Light breading. Mild dipping sauce. Our only complaint was that they fried lemons instead of letting us squeeze the juice onto the dish. Dinner: We both had steaks. I had the NY strip and she had the skirt steak. Our 4 sides were the Mac n cheese, yucca fries, asparagus, and Brussel sprouts. The only one we were disappointed in was the yucca. It really didn't have any flavor. Then other three were great with the sprouts being our favorite. The kitchen messed up our steak orders. My wife ordered medium and I ordered medium rare. Her steak was defiantly medium rare. They brought her a new steak in less than 10 minutes and boxed up the "mistake" for us to take home. The char crust is excellent. Cost: $114. Not too bad for a bottle of wine, appetizer, and 2 steaks. We had $50 restaurant.com certificate which brought the bill down to $64. Overall: Good. We will come back. As far as downtown Peoria restaurants, this wasn't as good as Two25 but the food and the service (Jessica) were very good. The chef came out twice. He even gave us the recipe for the lavash which we loved.

    Chicken Caesar Salad... Good stuff!!

I was seated very quickly and immediately approached by my waitress about my drink request. She was super friendly and ready to serve. I ordered the soup of the day - butternut squash - and it was amazing! I highly recommend it!! For dinner I was torn between the shrimp and grits or salmon or chicken Caesar salad. I decided to go with the salad as I wasn't starving. The chicken on my salad was clearly freshly prepared and the salad was well-dressed. It was delicious! Hit the spot. The dessert menu is verbal as it changes daily. Today's featured ice cream sandwiches, chocolate decadence cake, carrot cake, and a few others. I decided to go with the key lime pie. The key lime was just the right amount of tart. All in all this was a good meal for a late dinner.

Table 19 is one of the very few ethical and sustainable focused restaurants in Peoria. The menu has a wide selection with seasonal entrees and a range of prices. Love the Brussels Sprouts and the Burger is totally solid. Bonus points for having Stone Brewing Co. IPA on tap! This Craft Beer girl loves to see a major chain hotel offer a true "craft" beer. The prices are reasonable, especially for a hotel restaurant. There are multiple entrees under $20 and some higher if you are in the mood for a good steak. Last but not least I find the staff to be very friendly and attentive. Kudos to Amanda, one of bartenders. I appreciate a server that offers menu suggestions and she had some great feedback when I asked for her opinion.

Amazing all around! We were impressed with the updated menu at a Peoria classic restaurant. We started with a couple of different appetizers, and they were great. The steak and salmon were perfectly prepared. Last, but not least, we had dessert which was out of this world. Kitchen was easy to work with for several special dietary needs too. We will be going back soon.

Shrimp and Grits and brussel sprouts. Both very good!

Just ate here last night while in town fin business. I know it is a hotel restaurant but it was one of the few places I town that had something other than steak, burgers, and pizza. The place was pretty empty on a Monday at 6pm but that is expected. Now the review. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of Brussels sprouts. The shrimp and grits were on par. The sprouts started off okay but as I got further to the bottom there was some sort of honey or syrup at the bottom--not that it was terrible but I don't remember reading that in the description. Overall, pretty good given the small town and the fact it is in a hotel--which is why it is a little pricey.

She recommended the Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich. My sandwich was huge and contained a large portion of pulled pork meat. It was delicious and the homemade chipotle bbq mayo made it all the more satisfying with its rich smoky flavor! The Cuban-style black beans were right out of Miami! Very nicely prepared and included green peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers, as well. My dining companion, for her part, ordered the Falafel platter, with a side order of gyro meat. The falafel (a dozen), were fresh, tasty, and just the right consistency. These were served with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pita, and hummus. The side order of gyro meat featured a generous portion of decadently succulent lamb shavings and included two portions of homemade tzatziki sauce. Everything we ate was prepared to perfection and could easily compete with exceptional restaurants in Chicago! Yes, the food at One World is that good. As for the service, our waitress Quincy was friendly and professional. As for the ambiance and decor--we arrived ahead of the lunch crowd, so it was pretty quiet. The decor, however, is nicely done. The premises were clean and well maintained. Ditto the restrooms. The restaurant is actually huge. There are multiple dining areas and in the summer there is an outside patio behind the restaurant, as well. As for pricing and affordability--quality costs, and the food here is definitely a cut above. That being said, the owners have priced the entrees quite reasonably considering the generous portion-size and quality of the food. My overall opinion? If you want a dining experience worthy of comparison to the best Chicagoland has to offer, but don't want to make the long drive--or pay twice as much--then I highly recommend this little gem of a locally-owned restaurant in Peoria!

Love to see old buildings brought back to life, Thyme, in the old Sealtest building, sits in the warehouse district of downtown Peoria. The eclectic atmosphere is inviting. Second time coming back we brought the in-laws from our home town in Arizona. Keep in mind we are new here and excited to embrace this new city and all its food places just like this. It was a Tuesday night and they were busy, not so busy that we had to wait for a table, we got right in. The blond girl that was to be our server came to take our drink order. I was on the fence for a few items so I asked the server, "When the cooks in this place get a moment to themselves to enjoy a dish, which is it they usually get?" She assured me without a doubt it was not the burger I was comparing but the duck reuben. Being a fan of both duck and Reuben's I was like, " oh hell yeah, sign me up". So I replied I'll have the Reuben, mom got meatloaf, dad got the burger, wife got the poke bowl. We had a few drinks enjoyed each other's company and then our appetizers came, the cheese curds!! Holy smokes these were legit the star of the evening! If you go I recommend these! Our food came out after and we began to eat. This is the point it went south! The server all but vanished. Usually you can't get a bite in before your asked how is it? Well we needed silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, basic accoutrements. Nobody came. My Reuben..... BORING!! This was the smallest plate of food I've ever seen. The duck was overcooked and dry, there was not a good ratio of slaw to dressing to duck and it was lacked all the way around. I was hoping to ask for some more dressing to bring some life to it but the server never came. Mom wanted salt and pepper for her meatloaf, but the server never came. Finally I was able to get S&P from a busser! The poke bowl was kinda a joke as well, huge bowl of rice and peas and about 3 or 4 small bits of tuna. It was good but not balanced and completely underwhelming. Folks are boomers so yeah considering mom needed to help meatloaf says a lot. But still no server! Finally she came back with the bill. At which point I had to mention that this was by far the WORST Reuben I have EVER had!! She giggled. I said SERIOUSLY, that was wack AF, and you never came back to check on us so I couldn't even attempt a save by dousing it in dressing! She ignored that and disappeared, yup the shitty Reuben was still there on the bull and nobody cared! Moral of the story, you're gonna gamble here. I would love to try again but when you can get a Reuben at One World that blows it out of the water EVERYTIME for a fraction of the price I would second guess giving your money to this business. Bummer, I love the building, I love the ice cream factory throw back! And the ambience is super nice! Service and portioning need a lot more investigation. Hey owner this is your queue!! Make a positive change here.

Is Main Street a mainstay?…read more Word-of-mouth brought me and my dad to trying this place out on a cold and blustery Saturday morning. He had heard good things and I had heard the same so we figured to see what we thought of it. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were told to take a booth to our right. We sat down to a half-full but bustling restaurant. We got our menus and drinks promptly and started poring over the menu. My dad went with his usual country fried steak skillet-style meal and I went with a basic stack of pancakes and bacon. The vibe of the place was a generic blend of diner and family restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me that was unique besides this US Veterans table we were next to. I didn't get to snap a photo as they just cleaned it off and were about to sit down another group of people that just walked in. The waitress brought out our food and accidentally brought us a muffin instead of my bacon but was super quick to swap the two. Looking at my food and the price I paid and looking at my dad's food and the price he paid, I was instantly jealous he got so much more food for about the same price. The pancakes were large and plentiful compared to some places I've been and the bacon were long strips and not shriveled up and almost cooked too long. So why the mid rating? The waitress and staff overall weren't all that friendly. They weren't unpleasant by any means but the friendly chatting and banter you normally get at a restaurant was lacking here. There didn't seem to be a lot of mingling and cohesion to the staff that you see at most other restaurants. It was weird and if not a bit mechanical feeling. I'm not the most extroverted of people but a little bit of banter or chatting with the server is usually a plus. But most importantly is the food. How was it? Serviceable. The pancakes, even with the butter spread on it and plenty of syrup, were lacking a big punch of wow. Granted, it's just pancakes but I'd prefer to eat pancakes at a restaurant that don't feel like something I can make at home. The bacon was super tasty though. Just a bit disappointing that 3 strips were $3.99. My pops said he enjoyed his meal but it wasn't anything to write home about. I did try a small chunk of his country fried steak and it was decent, if not a bit overly crunchy/burnt on the steak portion. Overall, not a bad time with my dad but I just wish my meal wasn't lacking that punch for $12. I'd definitely come back and try a lunch item to see if that provides the oomph that eating out provides versus eating at home.

Not real busy, but I did notice that there seemed to be several "Door Dash" pickups while we ate dinner. We had good service. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered 1/2 rack ribs (4 stars), 1/2lb Brisket (3 1/2 stars), Brunswick stew (4 1/2 starts), and Chili Con Carnie (5 stars). The house made barbecue sauce was the highlight of the meal (5 Stars). The ribs were very good and fell off the bone. The sauce made them exceptional. Brisket was tasty, but a little dry for my wife's liking. In hindsight, we probably should have ordered the brisket "chopped". The waitress indicated that the "chopped" brisket was more "fatty". The Chili Con Carnie was very very good. Not something that you see at a Barbeque place often. I highly recommend. The key lime pie was very tasty and better than what you get at most places. Although not quite exceptional. Worth a try though. Overall, we liked the Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern. Great location and lots of character. Very good ribs, excellent homemade barbeque sauce.
