    Whirlpool tub
    Natalie S.

We originally booked an upgraded room but ended up with a basic room. The basic rooms need updating. We went back to the front desk and they moved us to a newer room that had a whirlpool bath tub. The room was large and updated. There are no safes or mini fridges in the rooms. The bed was very comfortable and had nice sheets The inn has a really nice indoor pool. They are close to downtown Mystic (we walked 1x) and Stoniington Borough.

First time visit Warm greeting from Paul, lots of helpful information Nice 2nd floor room with a balcony Free parking King Bed and a jacuzzi in the bathroom Highly recommend !

Such a wonderful, cozy inn! Immaculate rooms, pool, and property, friendly hosts, and a convenient location made us wish we were staying longer. Amenities such as a fireplace in the room, a jacuzzi tub, bikes for guests, a deck outside our room, and coffee, fresh fruit and pastries delivered to our room makes this charming inn a cut above the rest. We will definitely be back!

2 beds kinda deflated pillows. But 2 more in room.. I usually bring mine. But this was last-min trip so it was OK we each got 3 LOL

The house itself is absolutely beautiful…read more Approaching the house is a well appointed garden and steps up to a wrap around porch with a lovely gazebo that would be perfect for relaxing with a drink and listening to the birds in warm weather. From the porch, you also get a peek at the Mystic River and the Mystic Seaport. (I could see the Mayflower which was on a lift at the seaport for repairs-absolutely charming.) When you walk through the front door, you are greeted by artwork, books, and a parlor off to the right. There is a baby grand piano, tuned and ready to be played in the parlor. I just loved all the hand painted details by a local artist. It is a cozy, happy room. Walk straight through the front foyer and you enter the dining room which has coffee, teas, and water available 24/7. There was a plate of cookies on the table that were home made and out of this worldA scrabble game was set and ready to go. A well rounded breakfast menu was posted and you can order whatever you like, all home made including the granola. I am gluten free and Josephine was so accommodating. I even discovered a new GF bread that I thought was better than most I have tried. Josephine has a talent in the kitchen to say the least. Everything was delicious. There is a lot of local information on where to go and what to do. OK- now, the Mermaid Room This is not a large room but it has everything you need (including a little fridge) and the hand painted walls are an absolute study. To think one young lady produced all that art, a talent to be admired. There are 3 more rooms upstairs but I wanted to be on the main floor. I found the location perfect. It is not on the main drag so it isn't noisy but just walk a couple of blocks and you are right in the middle of downtown Mystic with all the glorious restaurants, cute shops, and a drawbridge over the Mystic River. 100% charm. See how many mermaids you can count‍. I will definitely go back. I would like to go on a river cruise next time. I am recommending the Mermaid Inn to all my friends and family.

The amenities are top notch, still with a touch of sweet whimsy. The modern, granite bath/shower, in the Blue Room, was complimented by a beautiful mermaid mural. The mantle was decorated with a charming mermaid fresco. The soft shades of blue made for a serene environment & I slept like a baby on the comfy white, wrought-iron bed. Breakfast was delicious! Challah bread French toast with a medly of berries one day, a delicious lobster quiche on another. The Inn is Victorian, the theme is all things mermaid but, the heart of it all is the proprietor & hostess, Ms. Josephine! She could not have been more welcoming & accommodating. Thank you, Josephine, for a restful & rejuvenating stay at your lovely Mermaid Inn!

Can I give a six star review?…read more We've stayed at expensive hotels this year in Philadelphia and Chicago and this experience is head and shoulders over those. Huge room, comfortable, quiet and cozy. 6 star The quiet, do we even have anyone in the Inn or the town? The insulation is top notch. The dark The ultra sleeping experience. I guarantee the owner slept in this room at least one night to get feel for the room and make those little touches. How many hotels do you go to where the shades don't keep out the light or that the various clocks and smoke alarms and power strips and wall outlets all have bright led lights on them? How many times have I draped a sock over something. Not here, even the clock has a bright, dim and off option. I love a blacked out room and very very rarely get one. The shower - powerful and hot and oversized. Wow. Massive bathtub with jacuzzi option, wow. A well hidden TV, a really nice touch. We don't want it dominating the room. Bed, I've returned 3 mattresses after purchasing them at my house so I am picky and this bed is elite. Huge comfy chairs, comfy robes, this room has it all and the a/c is powerful. Resort 6stars Wine and cheese and fruit and cracker happy hour, bring $5 to tip Susan, she is a cheerful conversatalist. Breakfast is massive, don't plan to go anywhere else for brunch or breakfast. Highly recommend it and the seating areas are many, inside and out. Staff - great recommendations and Beatrice drew upon her knowledge of growing up in the town. Plus they had a ready list of 5 places to eat to walk to, so nice. The town, what a find, a classic NE town, they filmed mystic pizza here. So quiet and so much to do! Good amount of folks walking around, plenty of sites to see. Love it here.

The smell in the hallway hits you and the room was even worse. I had to sleep with my own clean shirt over my face to block the smell of urine, mildew, and nasty feet! Drove 15 hours to get here in the middle of the night to realize how deceptive this place is. I cannot believe Hilton stands behind this place! I frequent Hilton properties often and this one they should have never put their name on. I went down to ask for a different room but of course "we are booked, there's nothing I can do"....I was hoping a different room in a different wing of this hole would atleast smell better....but we had to stick it out. Paper thin walls, people loud and cursing in the hallway, and the stench......that just blows my mind. So glad I brought flip flops, walking on the carpet is a definite no! Sorry Hilton but you cant put paint on a Days inn and call it your own....its not a good look! Junkies in the hallway...parking lot....people if you have kids and any sense stay away from here! I paid $150 a night to stay in a $45 a night slum motel...shame on you Hilton! And yes I'm an Honors member....couldn't even get a free bottle of water!

The location…read moreof this hotel is super convenient close to downtown Mystic, the Seaport Museum, and Olde Mystic Village. Crystal Mall is 15 minutes away with chain stores and chain restaurants. The hotel itself was just ok. The layout of the check in area is odd. The employees at check in and breakfast were pleasant. The breakfast was good with more offerings than expected. They had hot breakfast, cereals, muffins, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, chocolate milk, orange juice, coffee and oatmeal. A nice touch was upon entering the room there was a towel lobster and a print out with some local history. It reminded me of walking into a cruise cabin. The room itself was just eh. Our room was clean, but the furniture was stained and worn. It definitely is need of upgrades. The sofa couch open or closed was extremely uncomfortable. We stayed for one night on a short weekend trip. The hotel served it's purpose, however I wouldn't stay more than one night or if you are looking for more than the basics.

I used points rather than spending nearly $300 on a room and I am glad I did, I would've been very disappointed spending the amount of money that the rate listed for what we received. The hotel allowed us to check in early and even called us to tell us our room was ready ahead of time which was great greatly appreciated; however when we arrived, the housekeepers were still cleaning and told us they needed at least five more minutes. There seemed to be a disconnect as when the hotel called us. We arrived about 20 minutes later. There seemed to be a lot of water in one of the bathrooms, and I'm not sure if they were trying to fix an issue outside of housekeeping. Once we got settled, we went to the pool as it was an unusually hot and humid day and we hoped to get a quick dip in to feel refreshed. The pool water literally felt like a hot tub. I couldn't understand why they would have it so hot even if it was a heated pool indoors -- that would typically be around 80° I imagine but it literally felt like it was 100° I immediately got out. We went back to the room and got showered and ready for our evening. We noticed many areas of the room and furniture needed to be fixed, updated or refreshed. Many doors did not close, drawers did not close, things were scratched or damaged or worn and the safe did not work. Our room had actually been "upgraded" so I'm unsure what it would've looked like had we got in our original room. It was clean and spacious, however. The breakfast was included which was the standard Marriott buffet. It was not great just OK. Of note, we could not make ice in our room as there was no ice tray, and there did not seem to be any ice machines in the building. The front desk told us they would bring us some ice, but never did. I wouldn't plan to stay here again, but it did the trick for the one night we were here.
