Some of the best sushi I've had, ever. I had the New York maki roll and my hubby had a cucumber and avocado roll on soy paper. Great service and to die for rolls. I wanted to try them all - especially the Hawaiian! But they're large so I could only eat so much.

From US visiting PEI and was ready for sushi. We ordered the maki platter A. It was a gracious collection of rolls made up of an interesting variety and one roll made of sweet potato (first time for us). Vary good Service was way above par. Put this restaurant on your travel plans to Charlottetown.

Nice place fast system to call the waitress. The food was good not astonishing but good enough to deserve 4 stars. The fish was fresh which in this case is 95% of the quality. The soup is served without chargin and included in the menu, the tempura was well seasoned and hot ... the rolls were very well served ... i take a sond one just because the first was very good. I'll return for sure ...

    Sashimi (small)

Sashimi is very fresh, but maki & sushi is just so so.. and beef in bluogogi is too dry

    Stone chicken teriyaki.

Nice spot for sushi in Charlottetown. Always enjoy the inari and teriyaki salmon/chicken/tofu.

The edamame wasn't salty enough, the tempura was greasy and over-battered. The maki was fine though. Save your money!

Yam noodles are good. Sushi is average, miso soup is nice. Overall average food for reasonable price.

Review Highlights - Ta Ke Sushi

Ta Ke Sushi has excellent food that is on par with the best Sushi restaurants I've been to in major centres and is by far the best one I have been to in the Maritime provinces.

A great little Asian café located in Downtown Sackville!…read more Song's Chopsticks is a casual Asian eatery serving up a very streamlined menu of Korean and Thai dishes and sushi (Saturdays only) too! They took over the former Dancing Dogs Café space. The food offerings served her include Bibimbap, Japchae, Bulgogi, Song's Spicy Pork, cutlets (chicken & pork), Korean Crispy Wings, Fried Rice, soups (tomyum noodle, chicken noodle), Veggie Spring Rolls, Dumplings, Kimchi, Shrimp Tempura, and Sushi Rolls (Saturday only or advance notice). They also offer homemade ginger tea here. Lunch is $9.95 and dinner is $9.95-$16.50, plus HST. The dining room is cozy, which has several wooden tables and chairs for eating in. I stopped in at Song's Chopsticks for lunch takeout and ordered the lunch special combo ($9.95 plus HST), choices of Steamed Rice or Japchae, Song's Spicy Pork or Bulgogi, and Spring Roll or Dumpling, which I chose the second choice each of the 3 items. The food was hot and ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion size was good, packed into a rectangular Styrofoam box. The Bulgogi had great flavors consisting of thin sliced marinated sirloin beef & vegetables (carrots, onion, cabbage, green peppers) sprinkled with sesame seeds. The Japchae noodles (clear sweet potato noodles) were cooked firm. The 2 fried dumplings were crispy outside filled with chicken. The food I had was overall very tasty and a good value for lunch, $11.25 total. I would eat here again! FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/songschopsticks/

I was not expecting a vegetarian or a vegan friendly place in Maritimes and definitely not in PEI. Were seated quickly and the place wasn't busy, but tables were filled in which was as a good indicator. Disappointed that green tea is not offered complimentary. Ordered a steamed dumplings to start with and Udon Noodles with mixed veggies, Mushrooms with Bok Choy, Spicy Soy Nuggets with mixed veggies. The dumpling were freshly made and good. The filling needed some more seasonings and were bit smaller than the ones we have added. The Chilli Sauce requested did the trick. The Steamed Rice provided with the two dishes was also smaller than anticipated and glad that we ordered the Noodles dish. After traveling for days and not having proper food, this food was a welcome relief. The udon noodles was perfect in every way except I think one of the mushroom or wood ears had a stronger flavour which over powered the entire dish. It was almost bitter. Not overly, but it still took away all the rest of the flavours. Mushrooms with Bok Choy was perfect. The flavours and crispness of Bok Choy was 5/5*. The Soy Nuggets with mixed veggies was amazing as well. The Soy nuggets small and veggie still crisp. Could have used a bit more spice though All in all a good spot. What was most amazing to me was that in the land of sea food that there was this place. Also as we were in PEI, it would have been nice if at least one dish was made with PEI potatoes and some Soy Sea Food dishes that are available

We ordered drinks: a Whiskey Sour for me (oops, meant to order an Old Fashioned), and a classic martini for her. The vodka was from a small Nova Scotia distillery and the whiskey, though not local, was at least Canadian. Both very good and generous with the alcohol. Later I had a good tempranillo (Spanish). The wine by the glass selection was ample, and available in 5 or 8 ounce sizes (I chose 8 obviously). Soon after this a runner arrived with two excellent breads: a cornbread and a multigrain. Free bread isn't always guaranteed these days; much appreciated. So good, and since we were traveling and running out we asked if they could sell a loaf, and they did - at a fair price. We shared two appetizers, both attractively plated on whimsically shaped dishes and garnished with edible flowers, one orange and the other yellow. The Mediterranean Pastry Tart with roasted tomatoes, caramelized onion, tapenade, mozzarella, goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula, and Parmesan. And the Grilled Saganaki (Halloumi cheese) with house-made lamb sausage and tomato basil salsa. Both memorable. On the small side but still enough for sharing by two. My Trio Of Lamb was a chop, boneless leg, and homemade sausage (the same as in our app), with mint-infused red wine peppercorn sauce. The chop and leg were served rather rare (she didn't ask and I didn't specify) but I was fine with it. Sauce, only subtly minty, was balanced in flavor and portion. Other components included roasted potato and cauliflower, a vegetable we couldn't identify at first, and another edible nasturtium, this time red. We eventually figured out that the green vegetable, resembling a julienned green bean, was probably a "micro celery". Curious but very interesting. The wife's entree was Roasted Chicken and Wild Mushroom Penne, with leeks, port, demi-glace, cream, and Parmigiana. The chicken was in small pieces and tender, the mushrooms not the usual button type, and the delicate complexity of the sauce made this into a memorable dish. Nasturtium garnish again; another orange - but how many colors can nasturtium come in? Our dessert was a chocolate cheesecake which we shared. Light, smooth, and chocolatey. Not huge but enough for us to share. Writing this several days later, I wish I remembered more. Other intriguing menu items include simpler things like burgers and fish&ships, a Seafood Vindaloo that I'd love to try, an entire sushi selection (!), and several to-go items sold frozen to be reheated at home. Stay in their rental upstairs (available on airbnb) and you could eat here everyday! Not a bad way to spend a few days.
