This travel center has a Popeye's and IHOP that is connected to the TA.

Buttonwillow... Sometimes the best travel centers are in cities that are unknown to mankind. There are several gas stations around this particular area. TA is .20 more. There's plenty of parking for cars, RV's and semis. I particularly liked the customer service, the cleanliness/neatness of the store, and the sanitized/cleanliness of the bathroom and extra wide size stalls. I definitely recommend this stop.

Last stop for the day, this TA was in good shape. Clean restrooms and a well stocked convenience store. I'm glad I didn't have to purchase gas here as it was definitely more expensive than 70 miles ago in Tehachapi. This station is right on the interstate and very convenient. Easy to access though no overnight parking. Stay for an hour or two and then move on. After the last two state rest areas on the highway, I was not going to try again for a bit. This was very good. I stopped by yesterday in the afternoon and had to use the restroom, your are absolutely joking. I opened the door and was horrible . Smelled and look horrible. I would appreciate if the restrooms were cleaned especially for those who need it while driving for so long .

Need a good pitstop when you are traveling on Interstate 5 from Los Angeles to San Francisco?Check out this Travel Center of America in Buttonwillow. They sell Mobil gasoline. Considering they are right off the freeway, the prices are not too overpriced. Are you hungry also? There is a Taco Bell and a Popeye's Chicken at this location. What else do you need?

This is our favorite stop for gas and bathroom facility. It is located midway between Los Angeles and San Jose on freeway 5 at exit 257. The gas price is reasonably cheaper than other gas stations along the route. The bathroom facility is very clean, well stocked with toilet paper and hand soap. The best of all, it has many stalls :) One can also try crispy chicken at the Popeyes or tacos at the Taco Bell next door! Highly recommend this gas station for gas thirst, personal relief, or hungry stomach!

Been driving from LA to Bay area for past 12 years once in about 3-4 months. I always fill my gas here as its the cheapest you will find all the way to LA or to the bay area. Restrooms are nice too with showers but I have never used it. read more

I drive a car with a 10-gallon tank and travel from San Francisco to LA a lot. Places to stop really matter and I've tried them all (at least, 85% of them). Most seem predicated on the belief that the customer will only be there once so it can be as dirty and disgusting as the worst third-world pissoir. This is why I LOVE (and rely on) the TA in Buttonwillow. I have been known to coast in on fumes when I've neglected to fill up at home. But each time I decide that somewhere else might be okay I am disappointed, and often seriously disgusted. Not all TAs are equal and I'm not recommending others on this same route (they tend to be unpredictable) but this one is a champ. The bathrooms are clean, really clean - even when they have just processed whole tour buses which they seem to do a lot of. The store is quite wonderfully stocked with electronic gadgets - they do, after all, specialize in truckers. And there is food, entertainment (audio books for sale) and the occasional cupcake sale for the local high school. Can't beat this place! read more

There are about 5 very narrow bays in which to hand wash your vehicle. Not much elbow room to really get to scrubbing. I didn't use the scrubber anyway because it looked very worn down. Machines only take tokens. 4 tokens = 3 minutes of wash time so bring cash and hope the change machines are working. A big chunk of the driveway in the back of the lot is currently under construction so exiting the bay was very tricky. I'll have to return to this location as long as I'm living in the vicinity. I stopped in here late one night to have my tank refilled and grab some snacks along. But i was surprised with what I saw because they sell much much cheaper gas than other stations! I think i got mine for less than $4...the bottom line is, they sell cheaper stuff and that is very helpful especially in these rough times. Only problem is, they are quite full when I got there.
