See where the course name came from as they actually have Bee Hives (Holes 15-18 but we didn't see any Bees.) Course is in good shape with a good amount of trees, not too much water and next to a residential area for some of the holes. We rented a couple of sets of clubs that were in ok shape. Putting Greens were a good size and I saw a driving range. Three of us and we were paired with another person which worked out well. They have a Grill serving sandwiches, Burgers and a few small plates. Attendant was friendly. About 25 minutes from the Beach (34th). Another good Golf option at the beach.

Not too crazy, not too fancy, just reliable and enjoyable. Customer service is always good. The staff and marshals are friendly and they're chill about bigger groups, which is a plus. If you're booking an early tee time, just know the groups are packed pretty close together, so pace might be a bit tight. Fairways aren't in perfect shape, but as long as you're not out there chunking every shot, you'll be fine. If the price was a little lower, I'd probably play here more often. Still, for what it is, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

Upon arrival at the pro shop to check in, I was greeted by the pro and was handed my golf cart key. The staff here are very friendly and professional and the pro shop had lots of merch to choose from. The cafeteria was next door and seating is available if desired. Outside the pro shop are the practice greens and chipping green. Both in good condition. The golf carts come equipped with a GPS system which helps keep the speed of play at a nice pace. The course itself isn't very long but the tree lined fairways make some opening drives challenging. There are a few par 3 " cart path only" holes. The 10th hole in particular can see a bit of a bottleneck with several groups that are ahead of yours waiting to tee off. But there is plenty of shade and the pace seems to correct itself shortly after completing with the 10th. I had a fantastic time at Kempsville Greens and will most certainly be returning .

I usually don't write reviews regarding servers but this young man named Jamari really stood out, it truly feels really nice when someone who's a server takes out time from they're day to be genuine and have a conversation, and it really sets the mood for the rest of the experience you have. This day was a bit chilly and couldn't stay out there long however, the time I did have was lovely reminding me of how cool of a club house it is on top of a wonderful golf course I really enjoyed playing. Pound for Pound (without being able to play on private courses), this one is probably my favorite to play in the area. I do feel the clubhouse is a bit outdated but it does capture the essence of a true "golfclub" vibe you would expect from a traditional club. You clearly see the local members enjoying their time for lunch or turning the nine. I have tried a few items as far as food and wouldn't say it's amazing. it does the trick for fuel but nothing over the top. Haven't tried dinner so I can't speak on that but they do have a full bar. Of course it is on the pricy side as usual for clubhouses but it wasn't terrible. The pro shop did have a goof feel to it and layout with lots of items you could purchase. Overall, I love the golf course and facility that is kept in good shape however I do feel the clubhouse and vibe, although traditional in nature, could use a little "sprucing up" as it does feel dated but... a lot of times, that is what traditional golfers want to remember and not change up. If you like that vibe with the wood lockers, dark green, traditional vibe, this place is perfect. As far as the golf course, condition, and layout, this is a must try course if you haven't. Prices are much more reasonable after a certain time but witih all courses and prices, you are going to pay no matter where you go unfortunatley. I already go to physical therapy, but this is a great addition for my body's wellbeing. I initially had a hard time getting someone to call me back, but boy was the little wait worth it. They have a special for new customers, $49 for 50 minutes. Sure, it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The therapist that worked on me was friendly and very informative. She started me with an overhead squat and this analyzed my MAPS (an acronym I can't for the life of me remember what every letter stands for). It was an informative screening of my posture, ambulation and strength. From there, we went to a stretching table. It was a good stretch and thankfully not too painful! I enjoyed it so much I did sign up for a membership, which is $299 for 4 sessions each month. I'm really looking forward to seeing some results going here.
