Unfortunately I'm not allowed to color my hair in any interesting ways, but the work I've seen has been quality -Phoenix appears to keep a stable employee roster that will allow you to build long term rapport and expectations -The place is reasonably quiet and its fairly easy to get an appointment -A great option for kids as the stylists seem very comfortable working with them Cons -Phoenix may be a little hard to see from the road, especially travelling south from 251 -Professional stylists will always cost a little more, but it isn't excessive and the extra money is worth it. The staff really cares about satisfaction -Try not to be late. They do keep tighter schedules if you have a specific stylist and that can bump you. That is more my problem than the stylist's however. I have been to dozens over the years and found the service to be subpar and many of the nail techs unable to communicate well for one reason or another (language barrier, rude, etc.). I ended up with single color polish at these places and never a complicated designs...:( Often the quality was poor at other salons as well, unfortunately. Fortunately for me, I discovered Lavish Nail Bar. At LAVISH, I have been impressed for well over five years now. Most of the techs here that I have seen do gorgeous nails for everyone--and they make sure they are doing what you want along the way. They all speak English as a first language OR speak very fluent English to where you can have a full conversation (if you want) while you get your nails done. This place is clean and makes every customer wash their hands at the start of the appointment to limit the spread of germs. What a great idea! They definitely have a strong cleaning protocol, as this is a clean salon. Their vent system works good too, as I am sensitive to fumes and don't have problems here. This is not a salon that smells bad or strong like chemicals one bit. I always make appointments and get served right away. However, they do accept walk-ins. I see many walk-ins get serviced within a few minutes or right away. If it is a busy time of year or the weekend, this might not be true. I always go during the week in the afternoons and see almost everyone get in after a short wait or no wait. They are popular though so I would always suggest an appointment. The owner and his wife manage a PROFESSIONAL nail salon. They are such a great duo. Their employees all seem to have fun and are happy to be there. I have seen many of the same faces working there for years, and many, many repeat clients so they must be doing something right! If anyone one stars this place, they must have extremely unrealistic expectations and give every other nail salon in town negative stars b/c I don't see how it is possible to rate this salon anything but a 5 or a 4 (if you have any constructive criticisms to offer). However, they have been in operation for years now. They know what they are doing. The owner seems to know everyone by name as they walk in the door. I am so impressed. This is a very courteous, respectful salon that goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. How good is this place? I have had people recognize the owner's work on my nails. "Do you go to Lavish?" they ask me. I have had dozens and dozens of people ask me where I get my nails done and many I have referred to Lavish (and they go back!). There are not many places around here that can turn an idea or design you find online into something as good or better than the picture you bring in (please note that this applies to the owner who has been doing nails for many years and is at the top of the game. I see the other nail techs do amazing, complicated designs too, but I can only speak for the complexity factor that the owner offers- who is a true artist and creative genius to be able to imagine in his head all the layers involved for some of the hardest designs that he has pulled off with flying colors. He only books himself by appointment (as far as I know) but even if he is not able to personally do your nails, I have seen him inspect the work of the other techs to maintain a high-quality standard, and I rarely see anyone leaving with a plain jane design (unless simple is what they were wanting). He has trained his techs well and I have seen some shadow his work even. I have witnessed them do nails for children, the elderly, and the disabled. I have not seen people complain. Just happy people leaving with fresh pedicures/nails. They are respectful to women and minorities here. They have a diverse clientele and a diverse staff. Everyone (without an attitude problem) should feel welcomed here!

I looked up the definition of full highlights and that's exactly what it is! Oh I know the deal wasn't for an all over color, there is such a thing as a full highlight to highlight your whole head. I Paid an additional $30 for a darken root and I now have blonde highlights to the roots on the sides of my hair and a brown patch in the back with no blonde at all. To top it all off they do not offer to fix it they offer to give me 10% off to fix it. I do not recomend a place that will not fix their own mistake. Horrible business practice, I'm always a loyal customer and an excellent tipper. Oh and if you reply to this review as well you really shouldn't bring up budgets or what you think someone else can afford. That's unprofessional and extremely rude!
