But we were facing a variety of costly solutions. I remembered seeing Experimax and gave them a call just to see if they had any ideas. Ivan was so helpful and said they certainly could put in a new hard drive and the top line OS for the vintage of this iMac. I dropped it off at 3 pm and by 4:30, they called that it was ready to pick up. Just $150! We brought it home and set it up and it runs as good as new. We are long time Mac owners and have never had a problem like this that we couldn't solve on our own. and we knew a replacement of any type would be costly.
