My parents had Verizon when I was growing up and so I decided to sign up as well. I had a great conversation with the person who set the account up for my sister, my wife and I. They even gave me a $25 discount. A little after that I added the ACP to our account and that gave us an additional $30 discount which put us at a $55 discount. (We are all struggling students so it was critical to lower our bill) A year later, my sister tried to add an additional student discount but instead it cancelled out our $25 discount. When I called Verizon they said they couldn't do anything about it. That it was gone. I was angry. But we let it go and moved on. We still had a $30 discount due to the ACP program. But then the ACP stopped getting funded and they removed the $30 discount from our account. They do offer Verizon Forward but it's only eligible for Verizon FIOS customers. A service that isn't even offered in my location. I recommend you go elsewhere for cellular services. Verizon is overpriced and will make their prices look pretty to hook you in then they screw you over later and take your money.

I called to see if they could help me set it up. They said no because my husband's name was on the account. No amount of ID would be acceptable. I was told to contact his daughter to ask if she could update the name, authorize me to be the other user. I asked if they could set me up with a new iPhone 17 Pro no charge, and they said yes. But, when I asked if they could set up the number and move over the contacts, they sent me to another place in town that will charge me. They said they did not do any set ups at all at their store. For $110 a month when other carriers charge as little as $15-30 a month. They should offer customer service because there's no other reason to use them. After talking to them numerous times on the phone and in person I found out that there were some weird charges on my bills that I never made as well as those hidden fees that they always say that they don't have. I never made any charges on my account because at the time I could barely afford the bill I had but I needed a phone due to my kids and work. For some reason, my service was also always on roaming which made no sense to me since I didn't ever leave the coverage area. My calls were always dropping. My cell service was just horrible. The last time I went in there I paid my bill then I gave my phone back and told them I wanted to cancel my service with them. A few weeks later I received a bill in the mail that said I owed 1200 dollars. Not sure how that happened since I returned my phone and canceled my service weeks before this bill came. They say that I didn't pay them and it racked up these crazy fees. This went on my credit for a few years until somebody finally paid attention and looked at my proof of payment and took it off of my credit. I will never go back to this company again. They are terrible. Just beware if you do go to us cellular. Good luck.

She said she's trying her best but she isn't the one that made the mistake. I asked her why she's getting defensive and rude? She was writing something on a piece of paper, she proceeded to rip up the piece of paper, and throw it at me. That is when the girl started getting defensive and had a meltdown at the counter. The manager came out, like 2 seconds after the guy said that he wasn't in the office. First of all, it's important to note that T-Mobile used to be terrible in humboldt, but now it's a good competitor. When driving from eureka to San Francisco, there are only a few dead zones, and there are even areas where the other providers don't work well while T-Mobile works good. T-Mobile definitely has better customer support, which is a big plus. The good: *The price is lower than Verizon, AT&T, and U.S. Cellular. *Netflix is included *Unbeatable international roaming included. *Taxes and fees are included. *The signal is much better at my house. Verizon and U.S. Cellular get 1X but T-Mobile gets 3 bars of LTE. *Data speeds are pretty fast. *The promotions are generally good (BOGOs, etc) *they have steep discounts for military, veterans, and the elderly. (nearly 50% off) The bad: *There is no towers between Scotia and Weott. *Ferndales signal sucks indoors. *Unfortunately there are still some areas in Humboldt where T-Mobile doesn't work but Verizon does. *No towers on HW36 past Hydesville until Redding The silver lining: *I asked T-Mobile about the coverage issues in the area and was told that they are upgrading all existing towers this winter to make signal work much better indoors, and are adding towers to highway 36 and highway 101. *T-Mobile users can also use U.S. Cellulars network in Oregon and east of Redding, as they are partnered there. If you need the best coverage possible, T-Mobile isn't for you, but if you're willing to save lots of money for a couple dead zones on rural highways then switch! read more

I created a yelp account just to let other people know how great this company is. There are six of us in the family and the dad is a veteran, and we didn't even know that T-Mobile discounted veterans. We walked into the store asking about the service and prices and what we get, and we were quoted $200 a month for all 6 of us. They said everything was unlimited, and we'd even get service in almost every country for no extra charge. It was time to upgrade the phones and the Verizon bill wasn't getting any lower so we decided to explore options. He said we could each get a brand new phones for half off, and I thought he was joking. He even said we get our Netflix paid for. We walked out with 4 iPhone 8 pluses, 2 galaxy S9+s. When we got the phones and he was setting up the account, he asked if one of us were a veteran, and that was definitely a yes, and he said our family plan gets a 50% off discount. T-Mobile needs to chill, I feel like they're the ones being robbed... Final bill? $120 for the phone service, and about $600 up front for the 6 phones, and then we pay $90 a month for 2 years or until we pay our 6 phones off. $210 a month!! That's almost $200 less than what we had with Verizon. My friends tried to tell me tMobile was trash but so far I have yet to find it any better or worse than Verizon. I still get service everywhere I go, even in the places some people told me I wouldn't. Maybe T-Mobile upgraded the towers because I can't tell the difference. read more
